Deirdre sat atop her Rapidash's back, clinging as close to him as she could. The teacher was quickly regretting her decision to come here, but she was finding she missed being surrounded by all the Pokemon she had back home. The best remedy for that, other than the breeding she was known for, was to catch them. Besides, the more she had with her, the bigger gene pool to breed.
The flame horse easily maneuvered the icy paths, his hot hooves melting everything they came in contact with. She was glad for how warm Quince was; if not, she would have avoided this cold place like the plague, specific Pokemon she was looking for or not. As they traversed through the cave, Quince easily pushing aside any boulders they came across, De kept a lookout for any sort of movement. Surely there would be something good to bring back to the others!

Grinning with an almost pure giddiness, Deirdre quickly pointed off into the side, tapping her steed's side. There was movement, alright; and exactly what she was hoping for when she heard they lived here. "Quince, quiet now." Stopping, Quince huffed to himself. He was getting antsy, but listened to his person trustfully. Sadly, his stopping was too late. The Lucario had spotted them, and stood tall, taking a defensive position. Quince pawed at the ground, waiting for Deirdre to decide what to do. She frowned, not wanting to hurt the Pokemon but knowing a proud Lucario wouldn't just go without a fight. On the same note, Deirdre really didn't want to get off of Quince where it was nice and warm. Maybe, if Quince hit it hard enough to weaken it quickly, she wouldn't have to stay off in the cold for long.
Hopping off of her Pokemon's back, she spun to face the two while calling for Quince to use inferno. Almost before the word was all the way out of her mouth, the fire was out of his, bathing the Lucario in it. She smiled, thinking for sure he should be weakened enough to catch. Instead, out through the flames it charged, aiming for Quince with it's bone like protrusions. Taken a bit off guard, the Rapidash was hit twice before dancing out of the way, hitting a hoof against the ground in anger. He looked to Deirdre for her decision, but as she watched the Lucario dropped to a knee, struggling to keep standing with the burn he got from the inferno. Rolling the ball in her hand she nodded, deciding now was a good a chance as any. She didn't want to start him on her team severely wounded, after all. The thought just hurt her heart!
So instead she threw the ball, hoped, and waited, going back to Quince's side where it was nice and warm. Quince whinnied nervously, shaking himself off slightly.
