As soon as he had discovered the ruins Crispin was struck with a desperate need to explore them.  Who knew what interesting goodies, or Pokemon, he could stumble across here.  There was sure to be plenty of nooks and crannies for him to explore for days, too, if he was lucky.  As he explored, all of his team remained in their balls.  Even Jove was absent from his usual nest of hair.  It wasn't for any real reason, other than not wanting to have any accidentally attract the attention of a Pokemon when he wasn't ready for it.  Not to mention he was still a little concerned from the Wesley incident.  Still, he felt prepared this time for any possible mishap.

The varying paths and turns were fascinating.  Crispin found himself constantly getting distracted and eyeing different patterns and structures, trying to get an idea of what it looked like years before.  As he turned down the one path, he saw a strange... blob on one of the walls.  He had started to get a little closer to figure out what it was when it shifted slightly, getting a better position to sleep.  The trainer froze, narrowing his eyes at it.  He struggled to put a name to it, eventually pulling it out of the banks in his memory.  It was a Gligar, wasn't it?  He mulled his options over slightly in his head before finally backing slowly away, turning to change directions.  He didn't really have any interest in that bat for the moment, even if he did need a flying type on his team...

Nope, wrong turn again.  Right down the next hallway was a large, breathing stone.  Crispin frowned at it for a moment, shaking his head.  The Golett watched Crispin warily, puffing out it's chest and trying to look intimidating.  Crispin just held his hands up in an apologetic gesture.  "'Ey, sorry, I'll jist be 'eading out."  He kept his hands up as he walked backwards slowly, making sure to not seem too threatening.  The Golett lowered it's stance, still watching Crispin with caution until the trainer was fully out of view.  Sighing, he put his hands in his pockets and walked through the ruins again.  As interesting as they were, it seemed his visit may be fruitless as far as Pokemon were concerned.

Or, a Pokemon would fly directly into his head while he traversed the ruins.  Crispin jumped in fright at first, ducking to avoid the bat's second dive bomb at his head.  He hadn't expected to be assaulted in his explorations, but it was an easy remedy.  Reaching for his belt before the Zubat could dive a third time, he released the smallest member of his team.  "Jo! Grab onto 'im whan ye can an' discharge sum av that static you've buil' up!"  As the bat came close, Jove jumped higher than you would think his itty bitty legs could make him and attached himself to it's back.  

The Zubat yelped in pain as the Joltik let off a static charge, in pain from the super effective move.  Unable to get a good aim on the smaller Pokemon, it shot off a flurry of stars, managing to land a hit on Jove with them.  "Again, if ye can!"  Jove skittered angrily as he was shaken off of he Zubat's back, but let loose a large amount of static energy once more before he fell too far.  The Zubat was definitely on it's last legs, but not out of the fight yet.  "'Owl fast on tis' next at'ack, then once more shud do it!"  Jove braced himself as the bat dove downward with it's wings.  It was obvious it hurt, hard, but the bug pushed through the hit and let off one last bolt of static discharge as the bat made contact.  The Zubat screeched, falling to the Ruins floor.  

Crispin smiled, walking over and bending down to pick up Jove.  "Gran' job, Jo!  An' wi' no psych'ilogic'l scarrin' dis time, either."  The bug cooed softly in Crispin's hand, humming quietly.  Crispin turned to the fainted Zubat, pulling a ball out of his bag and using it on the bat, hoping to add it to it's team.  Hey, he needed a flyer anyway.  It wouldn't hurt, and at least this one wasn't terrified of his main fighter.

As the Pokeball clicked in confirmation of his catch, Crispin smiled down at the little bug in his hand.  "Gud job, Jo.  Ah can tell yer gettin' stronger already!  You'll be te toughest bug 'raun in naw time."  The Joltik chirped happily at the praise, skittering up his person's arm to nest back in his hair, as was the norm.  Crispin laughed slightly, putting his hands in his pockets as he turned to continue his exploration.  He would be heading back soon, most definitely; but he was still having fun wandering for a bit.  Besides, Jo missed some of the sights before!  Now he could see some of it a little before they headed back to the dorm.
