Call it grace or call it crazy luck, but, whatever the case, Adolfina set foot upon the firm cave floors of the Dragon's Den after riding up the waterfall with her Goldeen without being drenched. In fact, she couldn't have been been considered damp. How did she do it? Was it even intentional? These were facts to not be considered at the present. No, rather, it was better to think about the fact that a ten year old was about to freely travel into a home of dragons and other dangerous Pokemon. More than that, rather than being filled with fear, she was filled with a mixture of pride and a sense of conquest. She came to hunt for excellent opponents for her Pokemon and for potential finds for her team. Fear? She had no place for that.
After all, if she encountered something truly dangerous, she had two excellent Pokemon to rely on. Anything less? Grinding stone for the weaker members. Active Party: Flygon, Whimsicott, Servine, Kangaskhan, Goomy, Eevee -Preferred Spawns, in order of preference- Volcarona, if Male + Flame Body Sliggoo, if male Pikachu Quilava, if good moveset Shellgon, preferred male for now Dragonair, if male |

The girl headed further into the caverns before encountering a slimy dragonic being. That was the evolved form of the Goomy she had among her active team. It was a specially-defensive wall and pretty powerful overall. Worst-case, she could capture it and use it over her Goomy. Best case, she could use it to breed with her Goomy and create another method of money-making. The girl was a little pleased with such a lucky find so early. The question was how to approach it. She wanted Lempo to get a bit of experience, but the Servine would have issues with a dragon, plus, this one had a chance of the ability “Sap Sipper”, which would have completely stopped the Servine's type-boosted Grass moves. Rather than blindly sending the Servine out, she got a better idea.
”Diablo, use Moonblast!” The girl shouted, sending out her Whimsicott. With a slight twirl and a flash of light, the cottonball from hell fired off a blast of lunar energy at the dragon. It was fairly powerful on its own, boosted by the Whimsicott's Fairy-type, and, finally, enhanced further by the dragon's weakness to that type. In response, the dragon fired off a blast of dragon breath. Not very effective, overall, considering that, well, Fairy nullified Dragon-type attacks entirely. The blonde was grinning widely by that point.
”Return. Lempo, use Growth!” While the Dragon-type did resist Water-type attacks, it did not entirely nullify it. For that reason, Lempo would need an extra kick to reliably damage his target. The Sliggoo, rather than attacking, caused it to rain. In the cave. How that worked was beyond the girl, but, either way, with the dripping water, Water-type attacks would be more effective. Things were just falling together in their favor, weren't they?
”Lempo, Aqua Tail.” The Servine's rear-side glowed a vibrant blue. Then, with a sudden and forceful twist, the leafy snake slammed his water-infused “tail” into the Sliggoo, actually pushing it back a bit. In response, the dragon fired off a blast of dirty water. Though boosted by the rain, it was still resisted by the Servine's Grass-typing. Fortunately, no other effect seemed to have taken place. After being weakened by the Moonblast from before, the Sliggoo was a little worn, but that Aqua Tail, enhanced on two different fronts, was doing well enough despite the dragon's resistance.
”Again, Aqua Tail!” With the order given, the Servine shot forward and twirled, slinging his tail down from above and forcing the Sliggoo to collapse against the cavern floor. Without wasting a second, the girl produced a Pokeball and lobbed it at the seemingly unconscious dragon. |

Adolfina smirked to herself as the ball clicked shut. One more to her team, and a definitely valuable addition at that. It would save her the time and effort of evolving her current Goomy, and, on top of that, it would allow her to begin breeding the dragons with reliable odds. Retrieving the ball from the cavern floor, she put it in her pouch and stretched out before looking to the Servine. Originally a Snivy, Lempo was proud and obstinate when the two first met. He was still proud, and rightfully so, but he had learned to obey without question. Good thing, too. Her disciplining would have had to become a little more severe, had she continued to have issues.
”Good work. Well done. Take a rest.” With that, the blonde returned the leafy lizard to his ball. While it would have been fine to linger, she felt it better to withdraw for the time being. She could return soon enough to look for other additions. With such luck on her arrival, though, she doubted she'd be hard-pressed to find something nice. |
