The Wonders of Arts and Crafts [Nia]

The busy streets were always lively with so many people shopping in some clothing stores and some marketplaces to get food for their families or to just enjoy themselves. She wanted to relax after the big tournament, so this district was a place that she could give herself and her Pokemon some fresh air. Namely, the mushroom kangaroo had been outside of her Pokeball since she just wanted to protect her trainer from anyone that might cause her harm. She did know that an art store was in this district and she thought that this could be a good way to shop for some supplies. Diantha followed her trainer as they entered the art store where there were a lot of art supplies and crafts for sale. And the kangaroo herself seemed to be curious about those artsy things until Alice had shown her some of the things that artists do on a paper-like easel.
Maybe an art club might be formed at the academy, but so far, no one had decided to make it happen. Unless, someone who loves art might form this kind of club and the store looked just like what an art room would look like except for no desks, just a rack full of canvasses and an assortment of art supplies for anyone who loved art. Surprisingly, there seemed to be no class in the academy that had art as its subject, considering that it might be an elective for students to take.

Nia stared at the canvas intently, as if her eyes tried to pierce trough it. They then moved over to the canvas next to it, giving it the same treatment. Both had their good and bad sides. She raised her stumps up in frustration, almost audibly growling at her inability to decide between the two. She then looked over to the credit card Kristoff was keeping afloat in the air with his psychical power. Maybe she could buy both?
She turned her head towards the door, furrowing her brow as she then turned her head back to the two canvas's. Which one to pick... Hrm.

The arts and crafts store seemed to have more people coming in. Maybe they were artists wanting to buy some better supplies for their drawings or paintings. Some of those artists had been experienced, judging by how they actually look at some paintbrushes or easels that they wanted to buy. And that was when she noticed a girl with a Ralts, but what was strange about it was that the girl had no arms or hands. Currently, the Ralts was acting as her hands and this girl had trouble picking out a canvas to use. She wasn't sure if this girl needed help or not, but some help might not hurt for a bit. Going over to where the canvasses are and with the mushroom kangaroo following her, she had to try making a new friend during this outing though she did make plenty of friends during the school year. "Say, do you need help choosing which canvas you want to use?" She was no artist, but maybe the girl's opinion might shed some light on this situation.

"Both." She answered both to herself and the visitor, nodding to Kristoff as the ralts proceeded to, with some trouble, lift the two canvas's up with his mind. Nia then turned her head to face the girl, smiling to her. "Thanks for asking though. Are you a store assistant or something?" She examined the girl. She looked young enough to be a student here, but maybe she was just a native with no relations to the academy? Who knows.
She then looked around for a moment, strolling off to the paint section as she begun to nudge her head at some of the buckets, with the ralts once more having trouble lifting them to the air.

”Oh no, I’m actually a student at the academy. I’m Alice by the way and it’s nice to meet you. I don’t visit art stores often, but it’s fulfilling to just look at all the art supplies there.” The brown-haired girl them moved on to where the paint was and with her Ralts in tow. Seems like the little psychic Pokemon was having trouble keeping them afloat, but she knew not to interfere with its work. Diantha looked at the different canvasses and was actually curious about all those patterns on one of them. The mushroom kangaroo seemed to get used to the artistic atmosphere that the store had, though she also wanted to make some friends herself without picking a fight as she was known to do. And Psychic Pokemon were actually useful for doing everyday things, including holding things aloft for someone with a disabled body part and also helping out with tasks around the house.

"I'm Nia." She nodded, motioning to Kristoff that he can put the supplies down for now. Nia then proceeded to sit down onto one of the bigger buckets of paint, letting out a relieved sigh as she then begun to stretch her legs, her toes cracking slightly. "Too much time walking barefooted. She then looked up to the girl, smiling a bit. "I just came here to ask about the art people who live on the island and stuff. Then I remembered I had my credit card and it had some money, so..."
"I ended up deciding to buy lotsa stuff."

“The art people might help with deciding what kind of art supplies you need. Though, I don’t think you should buy a whole lot of stuff for doing art. Oh, almost forgot to introduce Diantha. She’s my Breloom and she’s friendly, so she won’t bite…usually.” The mushroom kangaroo beside her gave out a small wave from her stubby, but stretchy arms. She then turned her attention to the Ralts beside the brown-haired girl and she blinked in curiosity. Such a small opponent would not do, but the Breloom wasn’t here for fighting right now. The Mana Dormer had never seen Nia around before, but it was probably because the girl was new to the academy. That and she had never met some of the students that were in her classes with the exception of a few that she had hung out with. Perhaps, making friends with new people had its benefits for her. This disabled girl was quite nice and had a love for art, judging by how she had been looking for some art supplies herself.

"Oh, I more meant art people as in people interested buying art. I need to fund my life here somehow, so might as well try to make some money out of a hobby." She shrugged her stubs once more. Kristoff stared up at the breloom, nodding his head before letting a wheeze and leaning against a nearby bucket of paint. He needed the rest before Nia would decide to move again.
Nia wrinkled her toes for a moment as she thought about what to say. "So. You paint too?" She tilted her head. The girl didn't seem like the artist type, but honestly she didn't either.

“No, I don’t really paint, but it’ll be nice if you could teach me how to paint. I never really do art, but I am interested in doing some paintings and drawing stuff.” At that moment, she heard that the Ralts beside her had sneezed and Diantha began to get concerned for the Ralts’s health, but it was probably just a little sneeze. And those art people inside the store must be interested in art as they had been browsing the different aisles for their art supplies. She had also never seen a Ralts up close, but the psychic Pokemon probably didn’t want to be interrupted from his work and plus, the little guy probably had to act as Nia’s hands. And the brown-haired girl had said that she had done art for a living and to make a little extra money. There were some jobs that the Mana Dormer would’ve done if she wasn’t so busy, but painting pictures sounded like a fun hobby to do.

"Eh, I'm not that good of a teacher, I feel. Some time ago I told this boy that to draw a good face he just had to draw a circle and add the details." She smirked to herself before standing up, stretching her stumps out a bit before looking down to Kristoff. "Alright. Just carry them to the checkout and to the dorms and you can rest a bit."
The ralts let out what seemed to be a groan before nodding obediently, raising all the supplies to the air as Nia went to the checkout, flashing her credit card to the cashier. After a few moments, she returned to Alice, grinning. "And that's the supplies for a while handled with."

”I see. I do think you might become a good art teacher someday. And that boy sounds llike someone I know from a few weeks ago.” The boy she mentioned could’ve been that Nature Dormer that had accompanied her on that mission with the Koffings along with another Nature Dormer and it sounded like this boy was probably bad at drawing a face. Well, sometimes there were actually worse artists than this boy. The girl then went to where the cashier was and paid for her art supplies and somehow, this girl seemed to be someone who was independent of herself, but had a little help from her Ralts. And when Nia was done, she nodded at her statement. From the looks of it, she might have to try doing art and paint for a good hobby sometime soon. Most people had Pokemon battling as a hobby of sorts, but it didn’t have the relaxing atmosphere as reading or drawing pictures had. “So, what do you do as a hobby besides painting?”

"I..." She wondered this for a moment. What DID she do outside of painting. "I guess I watch TV." She shrugged her shoulders as if the matter was not important before slowly nudging herself against the door, opening it enough for her ralts to get everything carried out, following him outside. She then turned around waiting patiently for the girl to join her outside.
She eyed the girl up and down as she waited. She seemed to be alright, though looks could be deceiving. She was nice enough and all. Maybe she could join her in this art club idea she had? Hrm.

“Oh, well I’m sure that’s a good thing to do on some days. As for me, I like to read some books when it gets boring, so I don’t watch any television much except for the news.” The mushroom kangaroo followed her outside the store and they were all set, not that she actually had bought anything yet until she found a new hobby to take part of. And that new hobby might be drawing or painting stuff even if she was inexperienced in that kind of field. There seemed to be a lack of clubs besides the Pokemon Contest club and she could remember what Tanya had taught the club members about. “I hadn’t seen many clubs made since the Pokemon Contest club. The academy might need some more interesting clubs for other students to join in. Maybe some kind of art club might be a good idea for people that love to do art.” Since the brown-haired girl had a passion for being an artist, that might be something she could do for the rest of the students.

"I was actually thinking about doing one. I already have one guy with some interest." She tilted her head at the girl, closing the distance between their faces until their foreheads were almost touching. "Can you read people's minds?" She then pulled her head back, smirking and snickering to herself. She then spun around, beginning to walk down the street hoping the other two would follow her.
She whistled a bit as she gently swung her stumps around. Kristoff seemingly scoffed, still carrying most of the crap they bought. Poor Kristoff. She grinned down at him. "Now now Kristoff... You'll get some extra food back home."

As soon as they were outside, Nia had talked about how one guy had an interest in starting the art club with her. It was probably that Nature Dormer Alice had made friends with a couple of weeks back, considering that he had never talked about starting any club when they met. Then, Nia had asked if she could actually read minds from that educated guess. “I suppose I can sort of read minds and it’s kind of an uncanny talent.” The Ralts seemed to be annoyed that he had to carry all that stuff for his trainer, but it wasn’t his fault, really. Meanwhile, Diantha had taken in the sights of all those people making their shopping trips in other stores and she was curious about the children beside their mothers and fathers. Probably because she never had any children of her own yet which can be a bit distressing for her. Still, the Breloom probably needed some kind of training regimen if she wanted to get some opponents to fight.
