The first time Tristan stepped foot on the island that hosted Grey Garden Academy, he thought to himself about how large it seemed. Now that he found himself thinking it again, now that he was in the middle of a full forest. He had come here in search of some grass type pokemon, but he found himself hoping that he'd simply be able to find a way out. He had a natural sense of direction, but it only went so far.
Still, he wasn't hearing anything loud or obnoxious. He was simply listening to the wonderful sounds of nature. With a smile, he sat down on the forest floor. He sat there for a while, just listening. Finally, he stood up and started searching for some new members to his growing family.

Tristan looked around for a while before coming across a pokemon. He simply sat there and stared for a moment. Any trainer worth their salt would be able to recognize the little worm. After a minute, the trainer walked away from the Caterpie.
He was looking for a new pokemon, but he wasn't looking for a bug type. He would rather have a grass type or fighting. He found that he would be pretty content with a fighting type. He would even like to have a rock type, but he doubted that he would find any of those in the woods.
He would be willing to take a few different kinds of pokemon. Caterpie just wasn't it right now.

When Tristan came across a panda pokemon, he stopped. He looked at it for a moment before pulling out his pokedex. "Pancham" was the poke-panda's name. Tristan smiled. It was adorable! It was a fighting type! It was the perfect target for Gastly to practice on while Tristan caught another team member.
Tristan threw out Gastly, who shone brilliantly. "Gastly," the trainer said confidently. "Use Shadow Ball!" The ghost spat out a ball of concentrated darkness. The Pancham seemed to be neutral to this, but it still tried to fight back with a karate chop that passed straight through the shiny Gastly.
"Another Shadow Ball, Gastly!" Tristan called. The pokemon listened and dealt another fair deal of damage to the panda. Said panda bit down at Gastly, also doing a great amount of damage. Still thinking it might be weak enough, Tristan chucked a pokeball at it. He could only hope that it was caught.
((Attempted catch of Pancham after a fight))

Want the monkey? Take it.
But this? This is my woman.
You captured the Pancham. Remove one ball from your sack.
