There were times when Tanya was surprised how diverse the island they were on was. There was a sense of child-like wonder in her eyes as she wondered around Mother Edea's Forest, which is what the place was called according to the map. She decided to bring out her Skrelp and her Buneary, who were walking on either side of her, so that they could bond together as well as be prepared for any sudden attacks. The forest did have wild pokemon and that was partly the reason why she went there in the first place.
"While the forest is pretty, keep an eye out for pokemon ok? You never know where they're going to come from." She briefed her two companions. Dani and Daniel nodded their heads, prepping themselves for the possibility of fighting a pokemon. While they were doing so, Tanya got out her pokedex, ready to gain information about the pokemon she was going to encounter on her first journey.

After wondering around for a moment, Tanya noticed that there seemed to be a pokemon up in the trees. Whipping out her pokedex, she studiously read the details that it had to give. To be perfectly honest, it didn't really seem like the type of pokemon she would necessarily like on her team. For that reason, she crouched down to whisper to Dani and Daniel.
"Let's be quiet and try to sneak past this one, ok?"
Tanya took careful and deliberate steps in an attempt to quietly sneak by the owl pokemon. Not wanting to disturb it, she also made sure that her fellow companions were quiet as well. Tanya thought about each step in turn, trying to move fast, but not too fast.
Eventually, she managed to get a safe distance away from the pokemon to stop trying to sneak. Giving a nod to her pokemon, she continued on her quest to search for a new pokemon to add to her team.

For a short time, she seemed to be unable to find any other pokemon. While it did mean a nice and relaxing stroll for her pokemon, it also ruined the purpose of her being there in the first place, to find new pokemon to add to her team.
Just as she was wondering if she had somehow managed to scare off the general population, she looked down at the floor and spotted a bug pokemon. Getting out her pokedex, it told her that it was a Weedle and was also poison type.
Well that sucked.
She promptly moved in the other direction, hoping that her next encounter would be better than her previous two ones.

The forest seemed to go on forever. It was like a maze and the map they were given wasn't too helpful with specifics on how to get out of the forest. What if she got lost? Would people know? She didn't really know too many people here. What if she was lost in the forest forever?
As she was worrying about the possibility of getting lost, she didn't notice the Snivy in front of her, which she then accidentally kicked. Due to it's small stature, it flew a bit before it crashed into the floor. Tanya quickly looked up and let out a shriek of surprise. When the Snivy got up, it glared at Tanya and started to grow bigger in size.
"Crap! Uhh... ummm... Dani! Get in there and attack it with Sludge Bomb!" Tanya cried out. Sliding in front of her trainer, the Skrelp spat out a whole bunch of foul-smelling sludge that flew right at the Snivy. Due to using Growth, the Snivy didn't dodge the attack and thus got hit by the full brunt, causing it to tumble backwards.
It quickly got up though and launched a tornado of leaves back at the offending pokemon. Due to her slow speed, Dani got hit by the attack and with the added boost due to the Growth, she grimaced in pain. However, she soon got up and angrily glared at the Snivy.
"Finish it off with a Sludge Bomb!" Tanya commanded, getting excited with the battle that was happening. Once again, Dani looked at the opponent and launched another goop of sludge at it. Once again, the Snivy was hit and while it did fall to the floor again, it did not get up this time.
"Well, I might as well catch it now..." Tanya mused, getting out one of the academy balls and throwing it at the Snivy.

Tanya let out a sigh of relief as the ball clinked, indicating a successful catch of the pokemon. Picking up the ball, she moved it from one hand to another, as if weighing the ball in her hands. It wasn't like she was expecting to catch the pokemon, it just seemed convenient at the time.
"Welcome to the team." Tanya said, standing still for a moment as the events of what just happened went through her mind. She still was a bit confused on how it all happened. At least she got a pokemon though. That was a plus?
"We probably should find a way out of here." Tanya said, nodding to her pokemon as she turned around. There was still one question left though. How the hell was she going to get out of here?
