Name: Cassius Yossarian
Age: 19
Date of Birth: July 4th
Birthplace: Fortree City
Gender: Female
Sexual Orientation: Pansexual
Face Claim: Naoto Shirogane from Persona 4
Appearance: Standing at a height of five foot flat, Cassius is as boyish as she’s ever been. Though while in her childhood she was about as curvy as a cutting board, she has blossomed into a woman, who’s still about as curvy as a cutting board. With her hair chopped short and a rather angular face, coupled with a penchant for clothing that masks her form and a rather, the woman is usually thought to be male by those she meets. Of course having a thin, but rather fit frame, doesn’t help much.
The girl has an angular, boyish face, with a rather fine nose and thin lips, those usually curled into a smile, and not a spot of makeup on her. With bright eyes, usually gleaming in happiness or mischievousness, behind a pair of black rimmed prescription glasses, she gives off an impish air.
Usually clad in her lab coat, and some form of button down shirt and slacks. Nothing bar her head and hands is usually uncovered by clothing. Of course it is this rather conservative dress that is usually the cause of her mistaken gender. Though the clothes don’t have much to hide, with her breasts being barely A-cup at best and a lean, toned body from her daily runs as well as just the amount of outside work she has to do while researching, she’s still the same tomboy from her time attending the academy.
Usually slung across her shoulder Is a specialized laptop bag, being made from a tough material and having military grade fastening and straps, it is top of the line to protect her laptop and various pads from damage of all kinds. Along with a pocket for her lap top, the bag also has a pocket specially made for her sketch pad, as well as a few compartments holding her extra pencils and note pads.
Distinguishing Features: Except for her ever present lab coat as well as her glasses when she remembers them, she does have many scars over her body, arms, and legs, reminiscent of Caravanha bites.
Height: 5'0"
Character Type: Nature Warden
Personality: Once being a boisterous, rambunctious, and sometimes neurotic kid, Cassius has evened out a bit with age, probably due to Daphne’s calming influence. While the gal is still up for a good time rough housing or pranking, she now exudes a more relaxed and laid back air, very rarely giving into worry. Though time has not dampened her excitability, as the girl still will get absolutely ecstatic over the smallest of things sometime. Though with High highs, come low lows, and when she gets depressed or disheartened, it hits her hard, often causing her to mope for weeks on end. Though when she gets into blue moods like that, there is usually always a certain someone who can snap her out of it.
Along with her rollercoaster like emotions, the girl is a carefree and gung-ho fool to boot. Usually going into something with just a barebones plane, if one at all, she prefers to let intuition and her gut lead her out of trouble, though it usually leads her into it instead. Thankfully she has gotten rather good at talking her way out of a bad situation, her time in Orre making the skill a necessity. Along with that she has become a much better judge of character, usually being able to spot a bad egg out of a crowed, while she still gives everyone a fair chance; she now knows when someone is pulling the wool over her eyes. Though while she is wary, it hasn’t diminished her caring nature one bit, and if someone has a problem or something bugging them, or they just need a helping hand, she is there with an ear to listen and a shoulder to cry on.
While she was passionate about studying Pokémon back in her school days, the girl has taken it to a whole new level, having filled journals and pads with notes and sketches on all the different types she’s seen and studied, the girl is nearly a living Pokédex, of course you have to be if you wish to become a Pokémon professor right? Along with her passion for studying Pokémon, Cassius also has taken up an interest in drawing, having gotten rather good with her wildlife sketches; the girl usually keeps a pencil and pad on her for when the mood strikes or when she is bored.
Though with all she puts out, Cassius tends to keep her more personal issues to herself. The girl still hasn’t gotten over her fear of Carvanha since the accident in her childhood, often turning tail the second she spots one, along with avoiding places they’re known to live religiously. Along with that fear still gnawing at her, the girl carries her own insecurities from how she was raised, as well as the effect her parents had on her before she had cut ties with them, but as long as no one sees those parts they don’t exist right?

History:
Cassius is a… strange case. Born to a researcher at the Weather Institute and a Pokémon breeder who desperately wanted a son the two parents raised their little girl to be a boy, even going so far to mark down boy on his birth certificate. Life went fine for the young girl raised as a lad; she never learned that she was different from any of the other boy’s, playing in the mud, collecting bugs and the like. For all and all his parents were proud that they had done a fine job in raising a “son”. Other than having her real gender lied to herself by her parents, Cassius had a rather average childhood. Though often “he” would visit “his” aunt on his father’s side in Fallarbor. A retired trainer by the name of Emmita, content with spending her days out in Fallarbor on her old winnings.
The times spent at her house were some of Cassius’ favorite moments. Long ago when her Aunt was just a child, she went on her own Pokémon journey, unlike the girl’s father who opted to become a breeder, so given that her “nephew” would probably go on her own journey soon, the woman prepared Cassius as best she could. The young lass learned all she could from the older woman, how to cook, clean, sew, what wild fruits were edible and what you should stay away from. As well as learning all about Hoenn as well as learning about the other regions in the world. The old woman’s stories fascinated the child, and kept her coming back again and again to the veteran trainer’s home.
One thing that didn’t stick though was Emmita’s warnings that Cassius shouldn’t try and get near wild Pokémon without one of her own. Of course being filled with the fearlessness and invincibility of being a kid, the lass disregarded that completely, often times chasing after the Absol that populated the marshlands near Fortree, or scaring the Kecleon that hung around Fortree proper. Of course no Pokémon would hurt her; she had helped raise at least half of whatever she could find in the wild. Of course delusions like that are made to be broken.
One day while exploring around the wet watery areas near the town the “boy” slipped and fell into a school of Carvanha in the middle of a feeding frenzy, the "boy” was bit relentlessly by the nasty fish, mistaking him for food, before more mistook him for food, due to the density of the Pokémon and her young age Cassius almost died and would have if a trainer walking buy hadn’t sent his Seviper to save the “boy”. Rushing the "boy" to the hospital Cassius was fine for the most part, bar a series of numerous scars that now marred most of "his" body. From then on was absolutely terrified of Carvanha, a fear which she knows is now irrational, but can’t help herself. Though the old woman’s lesson did finally stick, now the “Boy” would wait, and watch any Pokémon she came across, first seeing if they’re were dangerous before approaching them.
Along with the lesson learned, she took a fascination with Pokémon, always watching them, seeing how they act; she even started to wear one of her mother’s lab coats. When she found out about a school that taught about Pokémon the “boy” was absolutely gob smacked, it was her dream. Through a large and dramatic yarn (one which his parents just tuned out after about half an hour) she “convinced” them to let him go. In reality they were just glad she found something she wanted to do with her life that she was passionate about, as well as finally getting her out of their hair.
It was the Start of her Life at the prestigious Grey Garden Academy. While her parents did make enough money to pay for the first year, Emmita would have none of it, though the old trainer expected Cassius to take a more traditional journey, well it seemed this would do, the woman paying for her favorite and only niece’s schooling, full and upfront. Sure it was going to be a gift when the little girl started her journey, and the old woman supposed it still was.
Being given a Cacnea and a Duskull as her starters, Cassius would dive into the world of Pokémon at the Academy. Her time there had been amazing, the island itself was a miracle, with nearly every type of Pokémon found somewhere on it. The people were neat to, the girl having made fast friends with her peers. But it was something about the wide variety of species that appeared naturally on the island that set the gears turning in her. Being naturally curious, she studied and watched the Pokémon that came and left the island, trying to find meaning behind the small miracle.
Of course all her time was not spent watching them; she wouldn’t have passed if that was true. Instead as fate would have it, the Girl met a wonderful young lady by the name of Daphne Wright. While there had been some confusion as to if Cassius was a ghost or not, they soon cleared that up, and the two became fast friends.
Along with gaining a close friend, another discovery was made by the poor “boy”, that one being a shock to her system to find that she had been lied to her whole life. The whole ordeal was rather spectacular in nature, ending in tears and Cassius cutting her ties with her parents, and vice versa. Through those troubling and confusing times for the young girl, Daphne was there, and the two grew even closer still. Even becoming a bit more than friends.
From then on Cassius and her girlfriend Daphne were as thick as thieves, though Cassius still preferred to dress as a guy, after having doing it for so long it just felt right. The calm and rather reserved girl did wonders to even out Cassius, having actually been able to rein the excitable teen in more than one occasion. It also helped that Daphne was like the king of studying, something which not only helped Cassius at school, but also in the girl’s fieldwork.
Time passed as she went through the years, the small, excitable girl evolving and becoming a fairly decent trainer in her own right, of course her passion for researching Pokémon migrations is what took a forefront in her studies, the island being just perfect for that.
Soon the girl would graduate, with bright eyes ready to see the world, and her loving girlfriend at her side, Cassius felt she could take on anything. From School the girl wanted to continue her research, and join the ranks of the Pokémon Professors, of course given that her fascination with why certain Pokémon species were attracted to certain regions and their migratory patterns. She went to one oddity in the world, the Orre Region.
With the region having been devoid of Pokémon until recently, small pockets of them appearing up almost overnight it seemed a good a place as any to study just how species came to inhabit a region. For two years she traveled the desert region along with Daphne, though it was dangerous at some times, Cassius never let any harm come to the woman she loved. Of course after two years of compiling notes and research, as well as starting her thesis, the woman would get word that their old school was hiring again. She couldn’t deny she was interested, there was a wealth of knowledge to add to her already mounting research into the behavior of Pokémon migration, and having a reason to spend time at what was a hub of migration routes seemed just perfect. It helped that Daphne wanted to as well.
So the Girl would come back to her old Dorm, with her old team from her days at the academy, she’d become the Nature Warden, acting as a leader and den mother to the boys and girls just starting their own adventure, and of course bugging Daphne in the library every now and again.
