Why do I even eat here? [VIVIENNE]

Oleg let out a frustrated sigh as he made his way to the cafeteria. He had ran out of food back at his place, and his roomie had not done the groceries yet, so he had to sacrifice his taste buds to eat some of the cafeteria food instead. The thought in itself already made him almost keel over. He was rather apathetic for most his way trough the food line, sitting down onto a empty table as he then begun to lazily spoon the fish soup onto his mouth, sipping his milk from time to time out of boredom.

Sitting at a table catty-corner to Oleg's was a girl with short pink pigtails wearing a Nature Dorm uniform. Her fork was loaded with spinach, which she plopped into her mouth with relish. She might've preferred a cake to some greens, but Vivienne couldn't deny how good they were for her, or how relatively tasty they were for a vegetable. The salad was in a fairly large bowl sitting on a tray occupied only by a large plastic glass of lemonade; the sort of re-usable cutlery that was power washed in the cafeteria when you dropped the dishes off at the end. Thinking of how many people probably used her fork or bowl would've gotten her to grimace, but fortunately Vivienne was preoccupied.
a la Mode, her Swirlix, was sitting on the table, watching the human eat her salad with a look of mild disgust. He hadn't even touched the jello cup she'd bought him yet; surely there was something better around than that. Hopping off of the table to the nearest one, he sniffed at Oleg before his nose wrinkled again as he caught wind of the fishy soup. "Swiiiirrrrlll....." If his tongue hadn't been sticking out already, the disgust in his voice would've sent it out either way.
"Hey," Vivienne said, dropping her fork slightly as she sipped the lemonade and addressed her Pokemon, " did he invite you over to the table?" She tweaked an eyebrow, and the Swirlix huffed.
She glanced at the boy in question, before blinking once. Maybe boy was the wrong term? Did he work at the Academy? The scruff, the height, the glasses; if it weren't for what looked like a student uniform on him, she'd wonder if he was on the staff. "Uh.....sorry?" Vivienne finally said. Her Pokemon had a bad habit of bugging people who'd rather not be bugged; at least she was trying to curb the other's annoyance.

Oleg tilted his head at the Swirlix that suddenly hopped over to his table, and frowned a bit as it seemingly scowled in disgust. He then turned his head to the girl seemingly apologizing for the actions of the Swirlix. He scratched his chin for a moment before growing a small smile, nodding his head to the girl. "Eh, 's no problem. He's got a better taste than me at any rate, I have no idea on why I'm even eating the soup."
He tried his best to smile reassuringly, scratching the back of his neck as he spooned some of the soup into his mouth.

Vivienne sighed internally when the guy replied her Swirlix's presence was no big deal; at least she hadn't upset him, considering he looked a little dangerous. Of course, the minute the thought passed through her head she felt a tinge of guilt; people constantly judged her by her looks, so doing the same thing to other people when it bugged her was wrong. Still, she half wondered if he looked in the mirror lately.
In any event, the thoughts trickling through her mind, Vivienne set the drink down and speared some more spinach and onions onto her fork as she mulled a quick reply. "He's got better taste than both of us," She agreed, just loudly enough for the other one to hear, "but unfortunately humans can't survive on nothing but sweets."
The Swirlix, having deigned the blonde human didn't have anything worth begging for, began waddling to the other side of the table to jump. Vivienne, without even looking, spoke up. "Don't even think about it a la Mode." She pulled a bite-size candy from the breast pocket of her uniform. The Swirlix, at the scent of the candy in the air as she opened it, turned and started drooling. He hopped to the edge of Oleg's table, only a few feet from Vivienne, and she tossed the candy over for him to savor. The way she addressed the Pokemon was different than the boy. The hesitation, the timidness that crept into her voice was gone when she was dealing with the Swirlix, replaced by authority and warmth.

Oleg furrowed his brow a bit as he listened to the girl's voice. Was he scaring her? The girl did look pretty young, and considering what he looked like, it would be not that much of a stretch to think that he would be scary. He gained even more confirmation as the girl's tone of voice seemingly changed when she addressed the Swirlix. His brow furrowed even more.
"I can leave if I'm making you uncomfortable. 'M not here to scare anyone." He spoke rather calmly, trying his best to not sound annoyed or intimidating. Although, maybe the calm and cold tone could cause fear too. Dammit.

"Oh...no." Vivienne said when he offered to leave, even if he did sound a little off doing it. "I just..." She pushed a few of the spinach leaves to the side with her fork, "this is how I normally talk." The Kalosian, as apt to lie to him as not, was actually telling the truth. "With people, at least." The slight blush on her face was fading by then. "If I wasn't a little, y'know." Vivi's fork danced around the bowl, "Stern, I guess? With him." She nodded to the Swirlix that bridged the gap between tables, "He might try to get away with murder."
She looked over at Oleg, and didn't avert her eyes as she did with other people, "So please....don't leave. Not on my account." She'd feel bad for that; there were a lot of things that others would feel bad about (like stealing or cheating) that Vivienne had few qualms with, but making someone feel down just because of how they looked? She could try to avoid that. Besides, it was her Swirlix who caused the pair to even talk in the first place by interrupting the boy's meal.
"I'm Vivienne," She finally spoke up, sipping on the lemonade, "and that's a la Mode." It was her attempt to hold out an olive branch of sorts, to introduce herself and the vagrant Swirlix.

Oleg slowly nodded at her explanation. It sounded legit, and he didn't want to make the girl feel bad by leaving, so he decided to stay and just continue spooning up his soup. He looked around for a moment as this Vivienne girl revealed her name. He slowly nodded once more. "I'm Oleg. Oleg Kirrlov." He smiled slightly at the girl.
He then proceeded to take his glasses off for a moment, taking a rug from his pocket as he begun to clean them. He didn't really want to try and force the girl into a conversation, so he just patiently waited to see if she had anything to say.

Vivienne sat there, munching on the salad after Oleg introduced himself, including his last name. It gave her something to go on at least if she wanted to do some information hunting later. The silence might get to some, but she just let it percolate for a minute. Vivienne was raised a certain way, after all, and though some lessons on etiquette never really sunk in, she at least wasn't going to talk with a mouthful of food to a complete stranger. The Swirlix, meanwhile, having enjoyed his treat, was licking his chops and let out a small, happy sigh.
When she finished a third mouthful, Vivienne decided to try making a little small talk. After all, you never knew how useful someone else could be to you unless you got to know them. "So, Oleg." She picked up the forgotten jello her Swirlix had ignored, spearing into it with a spoon from her tray, "You're from...." a quick glance at his uniform, "the Bolt Dorm?" She had taken the time to memorize the colors associated with each dorm in order to know who she was dealing with.

He nodded to the girl as she correctly guessed the dorm he was from. "Yep. Been thinking about switching dorms though, but eh." He scratched his chin for a moment as he finished his soup, taking his glass of milk as he begun to chug down it's content with gusto. He then swiped away the milk that stuck onto his lower chin.
"And I'd say yer from... Ehhh... Nature? Mana? One of the two. I think." He shrugged slightly. The girl's uniform was... Pinkish? Maybe. Not exactly sure. Anyways. He proceeded to lean back on his chair, letting out a slight yawn.

"Nature." She confirmed, finishing off the jello after. When he brought it up, she knitted her eyebrows together, waiting for a bit until she said, "You can do that? Switch dorms, I mean?" She was newer than Oleg, and had never heard that information before. If it was true, it could be useful if she crossed the wrong person in her own dorms, but then again she hadn't met a Nature Dormer who seemed threatening yet. An idealistic would-be Nurse and a crying moper? They weren't that much of a threat or big deal to her in the grand scheme of things. Hell, Ginny was on her way to making the 'Let's not mess with her because she's nice' list. Seria? Well, she wasn't exactly in the head space to deal with a little mischief during their first meeting. It had been highly informative for Vivienne though.

"That's what I heard, at the very least. I mean, it's mostly there to seperate people from dorms with... People they don't like. Or something." He had his own thoughts about moving to Mana earlier, but it'd seem creepy to the only reason he'd even do it. He shook his own head suddenly, shaking the thoughts from his head. He proceeded to scratch the back of his neck again. Man, that place is really itchy.
"So, ehh. How's the Academy been treating you." He asked this more out of politeness than anything, but oh well. Might as well get everything out on the table.

"Good to know." Vivienne said, taking a chug of her lemonade in lieu of her earlier sipping.
She considered his question for a bit, meeting her Swirlix's eyes with her own and smiling. The Swirlix cooed happily, bouncing from Oleg's table back to her own. She began scratching it, the fluffy cotton of it's fur slightly sticky. What could you do? There were reasons that Swirlix were known as the Cotton Candy Pokemon, after all. "I like it..." The Swirlix's tail slapped against the table. Was it wagging it like a dog? The girl giggled slightly, "I came in after some bad stuff happened in Mavro, y'know?" Vivienne's voice was slightly distant as she recalled everything she'd gathered about the incident, "Some of the other girls in my dorm seemed to be dealing with some things, and I'm a little behind in some of my classes because I registered a little late this term..."
Still, scratching the Swirlix, Vivienne's lips tweaked into a slightly mischievous grin, one that mirrored the fairy Pokemon's, "But I'm grateful for the shot to be here. Getting the chance to learn and be a trainer...a coordinator....it's cool, I guess."

"Planning to be a coordinator, eh." He smiled a bit, nodding. "Everyone has their tastes, I guess. I just came over here to be a better trainer for my pokemon. Might start a day care service or something." He shrugged. He had never had any official plans for this whole future thing. He had just come over to escape his old life, and to do some pokemon research.
"I heard that there actually was a contest club here. You tried to visit that?" He raised his eyebrow a bit as he asked this. He did hear there were lots of girls there, but he decided to remain true to his promise of chastity.

"A Daycare? That might be nice." Vivienne said. She considered his words, and her own. Did she really want to be a Coordinator, or a Poke stylist? What about just a trainer in general? So many options, so little time. The Kalosian figured she might find her calling there, or at least something to keep her occupied so she didn't do anything too bad.
"Uh...yeah. I guess I'm a member kinda?" Vivienne spoke up when he mentioned the contest club. "I kinda missed the first meeting, only caught the tail end." She took to scratching the Swirlix's ears, smiling a little less as she recalled her meeting with Tanya. "The President's a Wave girl named Tanya. She's nice, and has a lot more experience than the rest of us at that sort of thing." When she said the last part, her voice dropped.

"Bloody hell, Tanya's the club leader?" Oleg raised his eyebrows. He had not heard of this. Slowly he grew a grin, letting out a mighty chuckle. "Oh, this is gonna be interesting. She's a good gal, and a better friend. Make sure to get on her good side as fast as you can." Oleg smiled a bit, stroking his chin.
"By the way... Have you happened to meet someone called Seria? How is she doing, if you have?" Oleg tilted his head a bit. He was legit worried about his friend. He hadn't seen her in a while, and when he had, they were glimpses of her being sad.
