Friendly Fighting [Battle/Adriel]

Astrid was relaxing at the edge of the sunflower field. Which was to say, she wasn't actually in the field, but had found a sparse part (probably because of recent battles by other people) near the edge and released Quadraxis there. And, she was lying on its head, watching the clouds roll by while several more of her Pokemon goofed off in the flowers down below.
Lately, she hadn't been doing all that much. Classes were going normally, but otherwise, there wasn't all that much going on lately. After the invasion and the tournament, everything had just...quieted down. Which, while it gave her plenty of opportunity to work on her music, just kind of got boring after awhile.
"Hmm, I need more to do," she said after awhile, rolling over on her Metagross's head and scanning the area under them. First, she took stock of her Pokemon to make sure they hadn't wandered off, then looked for anyone or anything else in the area. "I wonder if anyone's around to battle."

Adriel's Team (the first three will be the ones she'll use in battle) It was being close to places like this that made Adriel really glad she chose the Nature Dorm upon coming here. Sure, the beach was nice and all, but there was something about this garden and the forest nearby that she couldn't help but love; even without all of the cute/sexy girls in bathing suits. She didn't even think she'd enjoy nature this much, having grown up in a large city, so she was pleasantly surprised when she first discovered how relaxing it could be. Maybe, once she's out of this school, she' find a place to live somewhere that's a bit closer to nature.
Of course, she had a long way to go before she'd be able to even consider something like that. So, for now, she was just focused on catching and training as many Pokemon as best she can. Either way, just as she decided to make her way back to the dorm, she heard the sound of someone's voice near the edge of the garden. Though she wasn't able to catch what it was they said, she did recognize it. When she looked over to the direction it came from, the first thing she saw was a rather imposing Metagross. Needless to say, this was not what she expected at all.
However, when she noticed Astrid lying on top of the large metallic creature, she smiled brightly and approached the two of them cheerfully. "Hey, Astrid! Fancy meeting you here...not gonna lie, though. That doesn't look very comfortable..." She then paused, looking to the Metagross with a slightly sheepish grin. "No offense."

Astrid perked up as she heard someone addressing her. Adriel, no less! "Hey!" she said, waving down at the nature dorm girl. She pulled her legs around and pushed herself up into a sitting position so that she was more visible. Then, as Adriel commented on her position not looking comfortable, Astrid giggled, but then had to brace herself as Quadraxis stomped a foot in protest.
"Easy there," she said to the metallic giant. "Remember, you're too strong to be careless like that." Quadraxis settled down soon after, and Astrid turned her attention back to Adriel. "It's not too bad, at least not when he stands still. I mean, it's solid metal, but as long as I'm not up here for hours at a time, I'm fine.
"So, what brings you out here?"

Oh...whoops. She made the large four-legged metallic beast upset. Were it not so intimidating, it'd actually be somewhat adorable that it got so angry over something like that. But, things seemed to be normal again once Astrid calmed the large creature down. Making a mental note to be careful about what she said around this Metagross, she then listening to what Astrid had to say on the matter. "...I guess that makes sense. Didn't really think of it that way." And no, she wasn't just saying that to appease the Metagross. At least, that wasn't the intention. But hey, if it did, then she wasn't going to complain one bit.
Either way, when Astrid asked what she was up to, she shrugged "Nothing really. Just wandering aimlessly to kill some time. I was looking around for some Pokemon to maybe try and capture, but nothing I saw really stood out as a must-have. I was thinking of taking a short nap back at the dorm for a bit, then hitting the Battle Dome to see if there were any trainers looking to have a quick battle. Haven't really done much other than train since that disaster of a tournament, so I'm thinking it might do my Pokemon some good, especially since I have a couple I haven't actually battled with yet." She paused for a moment, then spoke up once more "How about you? Anything new or exciting?"

"Sorry about that," Astrid said, sensing (possibly incorrectly) that Adriel was trying to appease the Metagross. "This guy doesn't mean any harm but, you know, a big robot can cause a lot of trouble with little things." She gave an awkward smile, listening to Adriel. It seemed like they were in a similar position: killing time, looking for battles, and having not done much since the tournament. And both of them were less than enthused about how it ended too. The mention of the tournament made Quadraxis restless too, but thankfully it didn't make any sudden movements this time.
"Well..." Astrid said when asked if anything new was happening. "I finished writing two more songs, and am now absolutely certain that I'm going to need a violin part. Other than that, though, it's been really slow. I don't have a lot to do except train and write lately. Which is great for getting new material done, but I kind of miss the excitement too." Not the huge mess that Team Whatever Amusing Derogatory Name Was Being Used Now made of the city, though. that could stay right where it was in the past. "That said, if you're looking for a quick battle, I wouldn't mind having one. I haven't gone up against anyone since the tournament."

When Astrid apologized on her Metagross' behalf, she gave a friendly-yet-dismissive wave "No. Believe me, I understand." On a whim, she grabbed a Poke Ball and tossed it onto the grass not too far away from them. With a flash of light, a massive Pokemon emerged, soon assuming the form of Adriel's newly-evolved Golurk "Ever since Titan here evolved, it's been one awkward accident after another. Somehow, he keeps failing to grasp that he's basically tripled in size...let's just say I'm lucky that this school is a lot sturdier than it looks." Of course, it was clear in the way she spoke that she still had nothing but love for the huge Pokemon, but still.
Listening further, Adriel nodded quietly. It seemed they were in the same boat; not a whole lot to do after the tournament wrapped up. And with that, came the offer for a battle, to which Adriel smiled "A battle sounds great...how does three Pokemon each sound?" After waiting for a response, she moved back a bit so that their Pokemon would have plenty of room to fight. Then, after debating for a bit, she nodded, deciding on which Pokemon to use first. Deciding it'd be best to use some of her less experienced teammates, she first sent out her Doduo. Immediately the two heads started bickering, but a rather loud clearing of the throat from their trainer got them to stop.
Once the two-headed bird was ready for battle, she nodded "Alright! Ready when you are. I'll be starting off with Schizo, here."

Astrid's eyes lit up immediately when she saw the pokemon Adriel sent out. A Golurk?! That was... "Aaaah you have a Golurk, that's so awesome! I really want one of those but I still haven't managed to find one yet. Can it fly? I've always wanted to fly around on a giant robot!"' Astrid continued gushing and geeking out over the giant robot Pokemon for another minute before suddenly stopping and clearing her throat. "It's almost like we were made for each other," she said. Her delivery was straight, but since she was still starry-eyed it was hard to tell if she was serious or not.
"A-anyway, I'm fine with three on three. I won't use Quadraxis here. Unless you want that, but I'd rather train up some of these guys." She gestured down to the ground, where all of the other Pokemon currently with her except Lunatic (she didn't want to know what Lunatic was doing) had gathered around the Metagross's legs.
Adriel seemed to be thinking along the same lines, since the first of her Pokemon to come out was a two-headed bird. Immediately, Astrid could see why an animal with two heads was a bad idea: they started bickering with each other from the moment the Pokemon appeared. She was thankful that Quadraxis's four brains worked off of each other, rather than against each other. Her Pokemon, meanwhile, took positions hiding behind Quadraxis's legs and waiting to be called out. "Alright, Draygon, you're up!" Astrid said. She leaned over the edge of Quadraxis's head, signaling towards one of the legs. Out from behind it, her Tynamo emerged. "Ready!" Astrid said.

Adriel couldn't help but grin as Astrid proceeded to geek out over her Golurk. Of course, she thought it was pretty awesome herself, but she wasn't quite this giddy over it. What made it better was how she tried to play it off after the fact, which was especially adorable after she had practically drooled over the large Pokemon. "Yeah he can fly. Even bought the HM for the sole purpose of teaching him the move...tell you what? If you win, I'll give you a ride back to the Bolt Dorm." She wasn't quite sure what she would want if she won, but she could figure that out later.
She frowned a bit when she saw the Tynamo. Of course she'd be up against an Electric-type right off the bat. But, hopefully, if she hit hard and fast, it wouldn't matter. With a nod, Adriel called out to her Doduo "Alright, Schizo! Let's start off with Facade!" The Doduo nodded, his two beaks emitting a bright glow as he charged toward the Tynamo and tried to strike the small Electric-type with them. Even though she couldn't get the full benefit from the attack's effect, it was still a fairly strong attack, so, hopefully, it would be enough to get the job done.
Summary - Schizo used Facade!
Facade: Normal-type; Physical. Base power of 70 and accuracy of 100%. If the user has been afflicted with Poison, Paralysis or Burn, the base power is doubled to 140 (this attack ignores Burn's effect of cutting Attack in half).

Astrid practically squeaked with excitement as Adriel mentioned giving her a ride back to her dorm on the Golurk if she won. Now she had to win. Of course, if there was now a reward riding on her winning, then there was probably one on Adriel winning as well. Which, while she was curious about it, she decided not to ask. Keeping that as a surpris was fine, but if Adriel did win she'd definitely be asking about it later.
The Doduo, meanwhile, started off with a painfully strong attack. Astrid frowned, seeing it. That...was a problem. And it could potentially have been crippling, but the moment the attack the Tynamo's body distorted, as though losing resolution. The next thing either of them knew, Astrid's Zorua was standing in its place. "Ooh, nice bait-and-switch, Duo!" Astrid said. She hadn't actually planned on sending out Duo, but he'd come out anyway, taking a nasty but survivable hit in Draygon's form. "Don't get too confident because he's not an electric type, though. Duo, Night Daze!" As Astrid called out the command, the Zorua's eyes started to glow and a wave of dark energy spread out from his body to engulf the Doduo.

Adriel blinked as the Tynamo's form started to fluctuate. At first, she had no clue what was going on, but then she let out an annoyed sigh when the Pokemon revealed it's true form. Of course it would be a Zorua. They were well-known back at home for playing tricks on people, and while it was usually harmless, it could still get a little annoying at times. She personally had nothing against them, though. Hell, one of these days, she wouldn't mind catching one. But that had nothing to do with how annoyed she was right now. The only reason she wasn't too upset was because Astrid seemed just as surprised as she was.
Either way, the Zorua retaliated with a rather nasty attack; Night Daze. The Doduo was hit by the wave of darkness, which brought him to the brink of collapsing. Adriel's eyes widened at how powerful the attack was. Though he survived the hit, Schizo was barely standing. With a nod, she decided to end this quickly. "Schizo, use Drill Peck!" Both of the Doduo's heads nodded, energy gathering around its beak and moving in a spiraling drill-like motion. Then, he charged at the Zorua and attacked with all of his might, aiming to strike the Zorua with two simultaneous pecking attacks.
Summary - Schizo was hit by the Night Daze! - Schizo used Drill Peck!
Drill Peck: Flying-type; Physical. Base power of 80 and an accuracy of 100%. Drill Peck only inflicts damage, and does not have any side effects.

Ahhh, damn it. The bird was still up. Astrid had been banking on Duo being strong enough to finish it in one shot. But since that didn't happen, the Doduo was able to wind up for another attack, and drilled through Duo with both of its beaks. That was enough to finish Duo off, and he collapsed to the ground, unconscious. "Ahh...good work out there," Astrid said, recalling the fallen fox Pokemon.
"Well, you've already seen my hand, so I might as well use him. Draygon, you're up next...for real this time!" The actual Tynamo emerged from behind another of Quadraxis's legs, his small body already crackling with electricity. "Let's go, hit it with Spark!" Astrid called out. The arcing electricity then reached harmful levels as Draygon charged forward to slam into the Doduo with an electrically charged tackle.

Adriel watched as the Zorua went down, though she was in no mood to celebrate, as she knew exactly what was coming next. Sure, there was a chance that Astrid could send out a different Pokemon, but since Tynamo had an advantage against Doduo, it was better to be safe than sorry. Not to mention it also had an advantage against another Pokemon she was planning to use. All in all, this Tynamo was turning out to be quite the Dangerous foe. Or so it seemed. She did have one option, and while it she left a bit to be desired offensively, she was perfect for this opponent defensively.
"Good job Schizo. Go ahead and get some rest." She returned the fallen Doduo, then grabbed another Poke Ball and immediately threw it onto the field. From inside emerged her most recent catch, her Petilil. "Alright, Flora! Use Mega Drain!" The Petilil nodded, a small orb of green energy at the tip of the leaf on her head. Then, with a swift bow, the energy was launched at the opponent in the form of a small beam. Adriel watched on. Hopefully, this would be enough...especially considering this was Flora's only offensive move. She was definitely going to have to fix that once this was over.
Summary - Shizo was hit by the Spark! It's super-effective! - Shizo fainted... - Akira sent out her Petilil, Flora! - Flora used Mega Drain!
Mega Drain: Grass-type; Special. Base power of 40 and accuracy of 100%. The user regains health equal to half of the damage inflicted.

Astrid grinned as the bird went down. She'd started off in a bad spot but now, with it out of the way and her other Pokemon still raring to go, maybe she could start turning it around. It would all come down to this next Pokemon and how she fared against it. She wasn't waiting long, as Adriel didn't take more than a second after recalling her Doduo before sending out a Petilil. Interesting choice, that. But not a good one for Draygon to be up against.
"Draygon, return!" Astrid called back. The Tynamo 'swam' hurriedly back between Quadraxis's legs. "Venalgue, you're up in his place." And a split-second later, the space occupied by the small draining beam was occupied by a venomous-looking, sentient piece of seaweed. As could be expected, the draining attack did very little to her, leaving Venalgue looking like she didn't even notice it.
Action: Swapped Tynamo for Skrelp

Adriel blinked as Astrid switched out her Tynamo for Skrelp, and the look on her face said it all; her expression was basically something to the effect of "what the hell is that?". However, by looking at it, she assumed that it was probably a Water-type, so why would she switch into one. However, it made sense once her attack hit the creature. It must have a secondary Type that resists Grass. Probably Poison, from the way the creature looked. Either way, she knew this would end badly for Flora, so she decided to follow Astrid's example.
With a nod, Adriel decided to fight fire with fire...or, in this case, Water-type with Water-type. "Flora, return! You're up next Panzer!" Returning the Petilil, she sent out her third and final Pokemon for this battle; her Remoraid. From there, she'd wait to see what Astrid and her...unique Pokemon would do next.
Summary - Adriel switched Flora out for her Remoraid, Panzer.

Astrid wasn't surprised at all to see Adriel's reaction to the Skrelp. Utter confusion as to just what it was. And, since it was, in fact, sentient toxic seaweed (or a mimicry of sorts, at least), that was completely fair. And hey, maybe it wasn't the kind of Pokemon that Astrid would normally be likely to use, but after seeing Tanya use one, she wanted to give it a try. Of course, she'd already gotten some experience with it and given it a try, so she know just about what to do.
So, when Adriel switched out the little flower bud Pokemon for a gunfish, Astrid only grinned. Interesting choice, but it was one she was ready for. "That may not have been the best idea," Astrid said, giving a dramatic gesture towards the sky and calling out "Venalgue, Thunderbolt!" The Skrelp did a backflip in midair, somehow generating electricity around itself in the process and firing that in a single arcing bolt at the Remoraid.
Actions: Skrelp used Thunderbolt! Paralysis Roll - 1 for success: Rqm7D8IS1-101-10
