Waves of Paint [OPEN]

It was kind of a bummer that he couldn't find what he wanted on the school grounds, but all was good. Hearing through the grapevine that students could freely travel from the school to Mavro on their off time was a useful tidbit of information. One in which Luka would take full discretion to use, even if it was a pretty long walk for him. No one said anything about a bus, probably because they all got riding pokemon anyway. Either way, even with his legs killing him, the teenager just continued through the busy streets, trying to find just the right shop. Something that could give him some wallpaper or paint, still planning on changing up his room to suit his style. He also still needed to find that artist to paint some nice murals on his wall, seeing as he's not much good at that sort of thing.
So there he was, in some nameless arts 'n crafts store, because that's obliviously where one would find paint for walls. He was a bit thick on the process, but only the end really justifies the mean. Looking at the bottles of paint, none of them really spoke to him yet, all being rather basic colors. Maybe there was something he didn't understand about how it all works, seeing as none of these colors looked like the shade he wanted. Looking around, there had to be someone to talk to about that, someone who knows that feeling of painting ambition.

Now, she was no expert. She was an amateur. But she could easily tell that the painting she was looking at was bad. How disappointing, another bad work from her. Maybe she should try and paint back at her dorm room again. But that could be rude and rather dirty for Mio too. So she had arranged a small deal with the paint store owner. She could come here and paint, he would gain some extra on the side.
So there she was, leaning back in her chair as she moved her legs away from the painting. To the outsider, it didn't look that bad. To her, it was her greatest failure in a long, long while. Curses, maybe she should paint with her mouth next.

Taking a few minutes to walk upon the store, he'd stumble on someone in the store actually painting. But not just any kind of painting- She was using her feet. How rad was that? Definitely some high level skill to try to challenge yourself to not use your hands for something like this. Luka decided to hang around, just behind her, just nodding his head in approval of her work. "Noice," The first word to come out of his mouth, a bit quieter than usually said. "High five, Brah. Totally awesome that you can paint with your feet, pretty good stuff. Do you do wall murals, dude?"
He was already holding his hand out for the high five, not even noticing why she didn't use her hands. She may've not had any, but that didn't stop him from being completely ignorant to this fact.

Nia blinked a bit as someone called her brah. Like, she did know that it was something surfer dudes would use. But were there even any surfer-- Oh wait. Wave dorm. Yeah, he was probably from there. And why was he asking for a high five? Maybe he just wanted to see her use her stumps for something. She shrugged, getting up from her chair as she then slightly bounced herself, managing to smack her stump against the held out hand.
"Well. With the whole no hands thing I'm kinda forced to try and use my legs. Or mouth, heh. That just takes a bit more effort and I wanna talk while painting. Sometimes." She rubbed her left cheek against her left shoulder. "But wall mural? Uh... I guess I could try. Won't look that good, but eh."

Watching as she shrugged and got up, that was his first indication that something was about to go horribly wrong. You don't need to get up to high five, unless his hand was too far up for her, which it wasn't. No, instead, she didn't have much of a reach on her to begin with, what with not having arms. Automatically, his face turned to pure shock and then horror as he realized what messed up thing he'd just done to this other human being. "I. . ." Still stunned by what happened, he worked up the courage to apologize for his grievous error, "am sorry. I was unaware." This is probably the most serious he's sounded all year, hoping everything was all good afterward.
Which it was, she kinda just took it in stride rather than get offended. He was still a bit on edge, but tried to relax, just a perfectly honest mistake on his part. As long as she was cool with it, so was he, going back to the whole picture thing. While the art wasn't perfect, it was good enough for his walls, and should could probably do better with time. "Mad respect, brah, what you're doing is totally cool. Haven't met many who can do what you do, man. A-Anyway, it's pretty good, I dunno what you're talking about. Definitely wall-worthy." As much as he was trying to encourage her, he was also being truthful, she wasn't a bad artist. Or, at least he couldn't judge, seeing as he was all kinds of terrible with a brush.

Was she that flat for him to constantly confuse him for a man? Or maybe it was the surfer dude bro code. She wasn't sure, she has never even dealed with surfer dudes before. On the rare cases she was at a beach, it was usually in privacy and all. Oh well, she'd get used to it. Hopefully. Probably. Dear Arceus please or that would get grating in her ears after a while.
"It's not that great considering I've been doing it for the most of my life." She shook her head, furrowing her eyebrows for a moment. "And uh... Thanks. I guess. I just paint, is all. Nothing too special to go all "WOAH" from. Expect if you haven't seen painting in your life. Sorry if you haven't. Or if it's close to your heart."
She bit her lip for a moment. Yeah, better correct this now in case he was just confused. "Uh... Also. I'm not a dude. Like. If you took me for one that is. With all the "brah" and "man" stuff. Except if you talk like that. Sorry if you do."

There were some things he couldn't figure out a bit her, probably because he was thinking too deeply about what not to say. It gets very hard to communicate when you're always worried about hurting someone's feelings. That and trying to understand if he was hurting her feelings through what he'd already said and how she replied. Nodding his head, he took a few more seconds than necessary to react, "I've seen some paintings and sure, there's better. There's no point focusing on who's better, though, man. Everyone gets better with time and practice, it's best to find your own better, y'know?"
Throughout all of that, she pointed to one aspect in specific- that she was, in fact, a chick. He wasn't unaware of this fact, he just didn't feel the need to bring it up in casual conversation. Seeing as she did, the male once again grew silent to deal with the thoughts in his head. Maybe she had low self-esteem about her body image, being armless might do that to a person. Trying to wrap his head around it, he picked his words as carefully a possible for a person like him, "I can see that, brah. I just. . . these words are natural to me, y'dig? I'm sure you got one bodacious chick body, brah, just not the time or the place for that." Yeah, he didn't sound like an idiot at all.

"Eh, I don't think I'm getting any better then what I have achieved here. Maybe if I try and get into a bit of a buzz with some incense, but that would probably just turn into abstract and it'd be pretty hard to look at sometimes." She sighed, deciding to not mention that she had actually made something better during the years she was more shut in. No need to bring the mood down when the boy already was bringing it down himself.
"Uh... I didn't really need any compliments about my body. Just wanted to make sure if you thought I was a dude or not. But if it's your speech style, so be it... Brah." She smirked, snickering to herself for a while before rolling her stumps around for a while, furrowing her brows as she spent her time thinking. "What kinda mural do you want?"

He'd nod his head to her words, even though he didn't quite understand some of them. Like what abstract meant in this case, he never had to deal with abstract art. Either way, everything was getting along good, even getting to see her smile and be merry. She was comfortable with him, he could tell, but she had this kind of pensive thinking about her that made her hard to read. Well, hey, now it was time for him to explain exactly what he wanted on his walls. Which reminds him, just what the hell did he want on his wall, he didn't put much thought into what he wanted to be painted.
"Well, brah, I was thinking something awesome. Like, nice, heavy, breaking waves, some good, cool pokemon, y'know? But not too blue, man, gotta have some warm colors in there too, man. Like the sun just barely starting to set, that kind of orange sky. You feelin' me, girl?" He seemed very proud of himself, getting his thoughts into words for once. It probably still wasn't gonna look right, seeing as he had a specific picture and anyone could make a painting from what he described. He even took careful consideration of her gender, seeing as she was so dead-set on making it known that she was a female person.

"That's, uh..." Well, it was a mess. Hell, no amateur should be taking that job. Even experts could be sweating their butts off in their seats if they were told that this was their next job. It was kinda like someone wanting someone to make a movie of this very specific situation with these very specific conditions and characters, and if it went wrong it all would be ruined.
But she didn't want to disappoint him.
Maybe it was the whole awkwardness thing before or something, but she just didn't wanna turn this goofy surfer dude down by just saying his request was absurd. She shrugged her shoulders casually. "I think I can try, at the very least."

She started to say something, but the eventual stop made him worried about what he asked. Was it too much, was it too little, what was wrong with what he said? He'd never find out, however, seeing as she said she'd try, good enough for him. It'd be a lot better than his attempt, that was for sure, and she could probably do a good job. If anything, he'll just get it painted over if it was really that bad, no harm, no foul. All he could ask is that she did her best and if he had that, then she did a good job by his standards. His incredibly low standards.
"Awright. So, what day is good for you? Anything I should bring, like that incense stuff? I'll let you have the whole room to yourself, man, you can just go wild." Giving her the express permission to just whenever and wherever it, everything was good. Nothing about this could go bad at all, could it?

"Day? Uh... I mean. I guess I could be up for it right away. Depends how soon you want it and all, I don't do much on my free time. And I really don't go to the classes that much." She shrugged her shoulders. As for supplies? Hmm. Well, he seemed to have the muscle to carry a lot of stuff, hopefully.
"Uh. I could use lotsa blue, some green and yellow. And bring me some food, preferably drumsticks of some kind. And uh. I guess you could come watch the process too, its not fun painting someone's work if they aren't there themselves."

This was definitely good news, Luka getting stoked up over doing this as quick as humanly possible. If it could get done some time soon, then he was all for it, but he did have a few questions has to what to bring. She gave him a list of about three colors, thinking their should be more than that, unless he was wrong about painting. Now was as good a time as any to voice these concerns, so he started up, "What about white? You know waves turn white when they foam up, right, brah? Like, it's mostly the top part." Gesturing with his hands throughout his speech on waves, he'd look a bit more ridiculous than usual, if that were even possible.
Hearing her ask of drumsticks made him wonder where he could get drumsticks. Was there like, a kentucky fried torchic around these parts, or would he have to cook it himself? He's not much of a chef, but drumsticks should be easy enough for a person of even his expertise. Maybe he could just put 'Karp on a stick and that'd be good enough, he's got some good 'Karp recipes. Either way, off of the topic of food, he had full discretion to be apart of the process, even if he was probably more harm than good. I'm not saying he'd be the one to yell at every little mistake, he's just gonna end up changing his mind every ten seconds. It's the type of person he is, unable to keep a straight thought for more than a minute at best. Life's too slow for him.
"Awright, sounds pretty good. I'd definitely enjoy to see the master at work. . . or mistress, I think that's the female version. Either way, I'll go grab that right now, we can get it all here, right?" Inquiring as to whether he could get paint in an art supply store, he really did just that. He was even looking at paint a short while ago, but it was good to note that walls use different paint. Something of a more professional and sturdy material to stay up for a couple of years.

"Yeah, right. White too, then." She nodded very lazily, yawning to herself as she returned to staring at her painting for a while, as if in thought. "And uh. Mistress just sounds like a BDSM thing. And I don't do that. Or well... Uh, if you want I can bring my whip and mask from home. Just need... Uh, some help attaching it to my stump and all, the whip."
After a while of silence she grinned, snickering to herself. It was probably a joke. Yeah, totally a joke. "But uh, yeah. We can get all the paint from here. Want me to do the stuff like right now once we buy the supplies, or?"

Nodding, he was all ready to go and get the paint until a certain comment she made arose. He didn't imply anything like that, yet she took it that way anyhow. Maybe this is why he needs to be more careful with his words, so people don't associate him with things like that. Shivering a bit, the idea of her using a whip gave him the heeby-jeebies. Hearing her laugh at the idea, he sorta just calmed down, sighing in relief at the fact that she wasn't serious at all. "Brah, don't joke like that, totally uncool." With that sentiment, he continued on to grab a few cans of paint, light work for him.
Looking through the aisles, he found exactly what he wanted. . . or so he thought. He never knew choosing paint would be so needlessly complex, what with very small variations on each shade of blue. It probably didn't matter, did it? They say that if you pay for quality, you get quality, and that's exactly what he was paying for, so color shading shouldn't matter. Grabbing the requested colors of Blue, Green, Yellow, and the new addition of White, he'd bring them over to her, just sorta waiting. "This all it? You don't need any kinda special tools of anything to paint on the walls?" Once again dumbfounded by what he was doing, he couldn't help but ask. If there was anything worse than asking, it had to be not asking at all.
