Chasing Victory [Battle vs. Oleg Kirrlov]

[Seria Floria]

Seria sighed and once again found herself stationed in the battle dome. She had lost twice already, and this time she wanted to try and actually win a battle this time. Her Sawsbuck, Antenora, was standing by her side as Seria began to groom him tenderly with her hand. At one point, it might seem that Seria pampered her Pokemon with affection, but in fact, Seria's Pokemon were all kind of somewhat attention hoggers. Except for Antenora, which was why Seria enjoyed having her out the most out of her four current Pokemon. Today, I'll do my best to try and win. Losing is tough, but I have to keep going. Not just for my Pokemon, but also to prove a point... Seria thought to herself.

She looked down at the ground in deep thought, still stroking Antenora, before suddenly clenching her fists and looking unusually serious. She took a deep breath before looking up at the ceiling. Will I be able to win today...? I hope so...

[Oleg Kirrlov]

Oleg rose from his couch seat, scratching his chin as he then entered the arena. He had been here before a few times, and he had won two of his three fights here as well. Would his victory streak continue? He grew a small smile as he noticed his opponent, waving his hand to her. "Well, hello there, Seria. I see you've also come to the dome for a fight or two?" Oleg grinned, reaching for his pokeball as he held it tightly, before throwing it in the air and releasing Walter the Electabuzz from his ball as he then motioned for Seria to start. "Ladies first."

[Seria Floria]

Seria blinked as she saw Oleg enter the arena. It looks like he would be her opponent for this particular occasion. Then, she hoped that she would do well. Her confidence at battling was not at its peak, though Tanya had given her comfort in losing before. Hopefully, she would not do badly against this guy. The blonde guy threw one of his Pokeballs and released a Pokemon from Kanto, it was an Electabuzz. Then he mentioned for Seria to start, going 'ladies first.' Seria nodded and smiled softly, but a little weakly, before clutching one of her own Pokeballs. She called out for Severa. "Okay, Severa, you go!" from the Pokeball, the Purrloin leaped out and strutted forward.

Antenora watched from behind again, though she was far more watchful and seemed to be in the mood for battling, ever since she sat out of Seria's battle with the stranger, which she lost. "If you give me the privilege to start first, then I'll go. Severa, use your Swagger!" Seria pointed at the Electabuzz, and soon Severa hissed and mewled, strutting teasingly and mockingly at the Electabuzz, as if she didn't take him seriously at all. Severa even added teasing head tilts, as if she had been refining her art of taunting.

Oleg blinked a bit, tilting his head as the cat just... Taunted Walter. Walter too tilted his head, slowly getting angrier and angrier as this small cat dared to taunt the might of this great electabuzz. He turned his head to Oleg, almost begging him for orders. Oleg nodded slowly, pointing to the purrloin as he yelled to Walter. "Okay, thunder punch!"

Walter let out a viscous roar, charging towards the taunting cat, slamming his fists against his chest tauntingly, the said fists lighting up with sparks as he then attempted to rush straight at the cat and smash it with his giant fists.

Action: Thunder punch with BP of 75, backed by STAB, attack raised by two stages, backed with attack of 83.

[Seria Floria]

Seria grit her teeth and suddenly grimaced as the Electabuzz was able to snap through his confusion and socked Severa with a ferocious electrifying punch, sending her, in his rage, flying into the wall. She wasn't getting up after that one. Seria sighed, looking a bit downcast. It didn't work this time. she thought to herself, and silently recalled her instantly knocked out Purrloin, who was pretty much destroyed after that punch. As if on cue, Antenora suddenly started trotting forward, baring her great antlers and her large physique. Seria trembled, looking forward, her expression obviously worried and discouraged.

"Antenora... Do it. Just like I told you to... Megahorn!" Seria yelled out, her eyes teary-eyed and desperate to see if she could make up for the failure of her gamble. She just hoped that this attack would land. If it didn't, she foresaw a lot of further problems, especially because this was Oleg's first Pokemon. Antenora started galloping forward at full speed, head tucked down and ready to charge into the Electabuzz with her great antlers, in an attempt to buck the Electabuzz on them and send him soaring into the air.

Oleg let out a mighty guffaw as the poor cat was sent flying away. He then returned to his more serious self, watching as the sawsbuck was released. He watched as the thing then rammed against Walter horns first. He grit his teeth, sighing in relief as Walter slowly got up from the strike, smashing his chest furiously. Oleg grinned, yelling his order. "Okay, go on and use Fire Punch!"

Walter grinned, punching his fists together as they lit, roaring furiously as he charged towards the sawsbuck, before unleashing his fists into a fiery uppercut of fiery hitting goodness. Oleg grinned as this happened.

Action: Fire Punch with 75 base power, backed by 83 base attack, with that raised by two stages.

Seria sighed as Oleg seemed quite happy with the result of his attack, and she was even more disappointed when the Electabuzz was still standing. And then he countered with a flaming attack; by rushing at Antenora and then punching her with the uppercut. Antenora was knocked up a little bit, and then sent into the ground again. She twitched and shuddered in place for a moment, and Seria thought she was knocked out, but Antenora twitched and shuddered, barely surviving that with a sliver of energy. It looked like she would fall with basically a breeze at this point. Seria looked very upset at this point. She was considering her alternatives.

"OK, Antenora, try regain your energy with Horn Leech!" Seria cried out and the deer Pokemon soon began mustering all of her remaining energy to run at the Electabuzz and literally try to gore her antlers onto the Pokemon to try and suck energy from the Electabuzz. She was trying desperately as well, for she didn't want to be knocked out so quickly either.

Horn Leech, 100% accuracy, 75 base power + 37.5 STAB off 100 Base ATK.
Regains 50% of the damage dealt as life energy

Oleg grinned as the deer seemed to be out of the game... Until it rose up and proceeded to ram Walter again with it's horns. Walter fell back, hitting the wall as he let out a grunt, standing up for a moment before stumbling down. Oleg called the poor thing back as he then went trough his pokeballs, letting out a faint smirk as he released... Hoare?

Hoare let out a steady hum as he floated there, his beady eyes focusing on the sawsbuck. Oleg tapped his chin for a moment before speaking. "Alright Hoare, Power gem!" Hoare continued humming, chunks of small rocks suddenly floating above his face as he then suddenly launched these shining rocks at the sawsbuck.

Action: Power gem with 80 Base power, followed by STAB, backed by 75 base special attack.

[Seria Floria]

Seria heaved a sigh of relief as the Sawsbuck managed to knock out her target, but then Oleg decided to calmly recall him and then released something else, a giant moai statue-like thing with what seemed to be a moustache, in fact it was iron filings. Seria recognized it to be a Probopass, the evolved form of Nosepass, as she would see them very rarely on Mt. Coronet. Regardless, Seria knew of the Pokemon's great defensive prowess. However, offensively it wasn't the strongest. Regardless, despite the Horn Leech giving Antenora some energy, the shining rocks from the Probopass' Power Gem attack was barely enough to take the Sawsbuck out of the picture.

Antenora tried hard to fight back her exhaustion, but it was just too much for her. She slumped to the ground quietly and without much resistance. Sighing and looking even more dejected, she recalled Antenora and decided what her next move should be. The only way she could beat this Pokemon was through trickery, and Severa was already knocked out by the Electabuzz. Sighing, she had no choice, and decided to call out Carrie. Seria knew she had already lost. "This is over. There's no way I can break that Probopass' defense. Come on, do your best, Carrie!" Seria threw out her Pokeball and sent out her Minccino.

The grey rodent popped out and looked tenacious despite the rock statue before her. "Carrie, make the biggest dent you can in that thing with Aqua Tail!"

Oleg grinned as he watched the deer pokemon fall, and watched as Carrie crashed against Hoare with aqua tail. The probopass did not mind too much, simply floating back to where it was calmly. Oleg stroked his chin in thought, considering his options as he then slowly grew a grin. "Use explosion!"

Hoare simply floated next to the small pokemon, closing his eyes as he begun to hum loudly, gathering energy as he begun to shine, the magnet like hat ontop of his head lowering to cover his eyes... And then... KABOOM! The probopass exploded, sending tons of energy everywhere. Oleg then called the fainted pokemon after the destruction, sending out Lancel the Pawniard.

Action: Used explosion, base power 250 backed by attack base of 55.
Note: Hoare is out, switched out for Lancel the Pawniard.

[Seria Floria]

Seria simply glared at Oleg as he ordered his Probopass to use Explosion. Yes, that's right. Explosion. The Probopass calmly floated next to Carrie, closed his eyes, and then simply exploded on the poor Minccino. Naturally, after the flashing died down, Carrie was pretty much down. In fact, she had been blown into the wall as well. "Now you're just mocking me!" Seria flailed as she recalled back Carrie, looking genuinely upset. Oleg recalled back his fainted Probopass, now sending out a strange-looking Pokemon that Seria had not recognized. On further inspection with the PokeDex, Seria learned it was a Pawniard.

"Go forth, Aquaelie, and be doing your best." Seria was pretty much demoralized at this point. Her last Pokemon was Azurill, who she hadn't done specific training with yet because he was still a growing Pokemon. As the Azurill bounced up and down in place, Seria called out with a hoarse voice. It almost looked like she wanted to cry, but swallowed her tears in. "Aquaelie, use Bounce!"

The Azurill took note of the command and used his powerful tail to propel himself high into the air by bouncing off it.

"Well. I wished not to have Hoare absorb ALL the pokemon." Oleg then watched as the baby pokemon bounced on it's tail happily, and then bouncing high into the air. Oleg simply shrugged. "Okay Lancel, you can't do much. Just... Relax."

Lancel nodded, simply sitting down onto the ground, relaxing himself as he closed his eyes, simply listening to something, mayhaps even meditating. He was calm, surprisingly calm even, for someone who knew a baby would soon jump and land on him. Oleg simply stroked his chin. Maybe he HAD gone a bit overboard, but eh, victory was a victory.

Action: None.

[Seria Floria]

Seria didn't bother listening to Oleg's excuse. The Pawniard on the other hand simply just waited for the attack, as if it meant nothing. This infuriated Seria even more. "Phfhfhfbllllt. You'd better savor this. Just ... pfhfhbllt." Seria was making raspberries out of frustration at this point. Geez. What a prick. Seria thought to herself as she awaited the inevitable, that is to say, Aquaelie landing straight onto the Pawniard. Hopefully, the Azurill's attack would make its mark, for missing would pretty much be an instant loss. Regardless, Seria wanted to do as much as she could before tapping out. She hadn't gotten any close to winning at all. She had pretty much been crushed.

Oleg watched as the baby landed ontop of Lancel, causing the pokemon to be launched back slightly. Lancel did a faint flip as he was launched back, landing onto his feet as he then prepared his blade hands, ready to attack as soon as the order was sent. Oleg stroked his chin, sighing slightly. "I do get a bit competetive, I do admit. But, eh. Feint attack.

Lancel nodded silently at the order, closing his eyes as he then disappeared from existance, appearing behind the happy bouncing ball of baby as he slashed his claw hands in a X shape, disappearing again and returning to existance on where he was standing before.

Action: Feint attack BP 60, STAB, backed by 85 Attack base.

[Seria Floria]

Seria was not impressed by Oleg's reaction. "Just a little bit. Just. A little bit." Seria was visibly frustrated at this point, it wouldn't be absurd to say that she would break out in tears at this point. She saw the Pawniard perform a Feint Attack on the Azurill, but due to Aquaelie's resistance to the Dark type, he was surprisingly resilient against it, and fell over, but quickly bounced back to the action. Seria sighed. This was gonna be a long haul. "Aquaelie, use your Bubble Beam attack!" Seria commanded as the blue baby lurched back a little before suddenly spewing a powerful beam of foam bubbles at the Pawniard. It was the only attack Aquaelie had that wouldn't directly get resisted by the Dark/Steel Pokemon.

Seria's fists were visibly clenched and trembling. Either from rage, or from sadness, or from frustration. Or a mixture of the three, or all of the above.
