Lunatic scored another successful hit, and this time, it looked like the Charmander was weakened by the attack. Her opponent directed it to slash at Lunatic again, and the Charmander did, again scoring a hit. Astrid waited with clenched fist as Lunatic recoiled from the attack and fell over...but wasn't out just yet. She managed to flip over, forced to stay on all fours. Her eyes were still gleaming as she watched the Charmander, apparently planning on continuing the fight even in her current state.

"...well, if you're sure," Astrid said. "Moonblast, one more time!" she called out. Lunatic winced ever so slightly as she started the attack, but still managed to rain moonbeams on the Charmander one last time.

The Clefairy wasn't knocked out. This was going to be a long run. The more this battle drags, the less chances Meili has of winning. However, it won't be long now till her current pink adversary falls. The trainer seems to want to call it back, something Meili was sure to be a relief for her, but it seems the Clefairy wanted to pull onwards with the fight. Meili does have a little bit of appreciation for such tenacity.

"...well, if you're sure, Moonblast, one more time!" Pen endured the blasts once more. Meili's eyes scanned her Charmander's condition. A bit beaten up from the barrage of beams. However...

"Use Slash once more!" Pen made a lunge toward the Clefairy, claws front.

Action: Pen used Slash

And...that was it. One more slash later, and Lunatic was down. She fell backwards after the attack, rolling onto her back and lying still. "Whew. Take a good long rest," Astrid said, recalling the Clefairy. She smiled gently down at the pokeball before returning it to its place, and pulling out another one. "Well, it's been a good run, but I think it's about time to bring this show to a close. Venalgue, bring us home!" She called out the last part, spinning in place and throwing the pokeball out in front of her. As it hit the ground, her Skrelp emerged from it and stood upright on its tail.

"Let's jump straight into the finale! Aqua Tail!" Astrid called out. Venalgue spun in place, stirring up a torrent of water from who knew where before doing a forward flip, dragging the water along with its tail and slinging it forward towards the Charmander.

Finally, finally, the pink spawn of evil is taken down by Pen's relentless attacks. Meili looked at her Chamander's condition. Pretty beaten up, but can most likely stand a few more hits and take down whatever her next opponent is. He might be reduced in the attack department but there is still a chance.

"Whew. Take a good long rest," Meili's opponent returned the Clefairy. "Well, it's been a good run, but I think it's about time to bring this show to a close. Venalgue, bring us home!" Meili's eyes widened at the Pokemon she sent out. What Meili can only be described is some kind of purple, poison version of her own Horsea. "Let's jump straight into the finale! Aqua Tail!" Meili let out a gasp.

"No! Pen do-...!" Before Meili can even utter a command, it was done. A tail coated in a veil of water slammed into the Charmander and sent him flying before Meili. She had to take in a moment to take one what happened....she lost...her first trainer battle here and she lost. Meili slowly raised her pokeball and returned her Charmander. She lowered the bill of her hat. "Thank you..."

Astrid smiled as the match ended, calling back the Skrelp and congratulating it. The toxic seaweed Pokemon nodded, spraying water into the air in celebration before being recalled. Which Astrid did the moment it started, because she didn't want to risk getting any of the possibly poisoned water on her.

She returned the ball to its place and approached the girl. "Good match," she said, extending her hand. "I don't think I introduced myself before we started. My name's Astrid, nice to meet you." Yeah, it seemed like everything had happened backwards today. Not that she minded jumping straight into a battle, but she liked to at least get her opponent's name and give her own first.

"Good match," Meili adjusted her hat bill upwards a little to see the girl walking closer to her. At least her opponent was being nice about it. "I don't think I introduced myself before we started. My name's Astrid, nice to meet you." Well, it would be good for Meili to learn the names of her future opponents. Meili is going to make up for this loss. It isn't even if it is a "she'll swear it is the last thing she does sort of thing" Meili needs to do it in the immediate future.

"I'm Meili...nice to meet you as well." Meili really was trying her best to dispel any bad feelings. One can argue it was her first battle but she thought she handled capturing that Croagunk decently enough. She looked away, now red in the face. Clearly from embarrassed, she was talking with an opponent.
