Live While We're Still Young (Astrid/Seria)

Tanya nodded with the other girls' opinions, glad that they formed similar conclusions as she did. There was something about Miss. Eisenberg and how she commanded the class. She felt like her words had so much wisdom in them that she dripped of every single one of them, as if trying to extract some of that information for herself. Ms. Brennan didn't really do much for her though. She hoped that the lessons would pick up because even though the first one ended well, the only reason she wasn't completely bored was because she had no idea what she was doing and she wanted to understand.
"I hope the new teachers are as cool as Miss. Eisenberg." Tanya chirped, beaming comfortably as she adjusted her butt on the stump. "I have to assume at least one of them has to be a guy. So far, all of our teachers have been women and I doubt having only female teachers is something the academy does. I reckon our Physical Education teacher at least would be a guy. I mean I think that profession would have more male teachers than female teachers anyways."
Tanya tapped her chin as she tried to think up about more things to comment about the teachers. "If we're gonna get an out there teacher, I reckon that we'd find it in Island Navigation. The class is a little bit odd anyways I mean it's not like any other school has a similar subject to that maybe we'll get like a hermit or someone who travels way too much they could be pretty odd."
Tanya could feel her voice speeding off as she started listing possible assumptions about her future teachers. It was like she forgot that she was talking to actual people instead of just talking to herself. Hopefully they could keep up though.

Seria smiled and nodded as Tanya began to talk a little bit of theory on the teachers. She wasn't so sure she understood exactly the logic behind her words, but she nodded as if she did. Eventually, the girl began to speak a little bit like a motormouth, talking about how the Physical Education teacher would probably be a dude, and that the Island Navigation teacher would be a little weird, such as a hermit. Then Tanya mentioned "someone who travels way too much," and then Seria tilted her head a little bit. She sighed, but felt this is exactly the kind of mockery she had when she was younger. "I think an Island Navigation class would be very helpful for those who lack exposure to exploration of natural areas and sights," Seria sighed and fidgeted. "I'm not sure if you've forgotten, Tanya, but my family and I have been travelling pretty much the world over, learning about Pokemon. The only place I haven't been to is Kalos, and my parents have been there once." she blinked.
Truth to be told, she didn't like the implication she was weird because she travelled too much. It made sense somewhat for others who didn't see her same passion for Legendary Pokemon to call her weird for it because they didn't share the same passions, but Seria honestly did not see anything wrong with travelling and exploration. It definitely built character.

That was a bit of odd logic, but some of it made sense at least. Physical trainers didn't have to be male, and she figured that more of the ones who'd be interested in teaching at a school would be female anyway. It was admittedly an odd thought of her own, but she always figured the guys would be more interested in training the next great boxer or wrestler. Or maybe that was just the boxing games she'd played talking. As for Island Nav, she halfway agreed that that would be the most likely one for an "out there" teacher. Seria seemed to take a little bit of offense at the implication that people who traveled a lot were weird.
"Hey, I've done a lot of traveling too," she added. "Mostly for shows. Never actually got much of a chance to visit places. But I've still been around." She let out a soft 'hmmm' as she thought about what she might consider 'out there' for an Island Nav teacher. "Unova gets a lot of backpackers because of the rough terrain, especially out east. Maybe we'll get one of those. I wonder if they'll make us camp out in the forest for an assignment or something like that. Ooh, or backpack up the mountain, stay the night up there, then find our way back down."

"Sorry guys." Tanya apologized sheepishly, rubbing the back of her head. She probably should've given more thought to her thoughts. She momentarily forgot that Seria travelled a lot. That made her statement sound really harsh towards her. At the same time, Astrid revealed that she had travelled a lot as well. Now her words felt really dumb. She also looked like an idiot herself.
Tanya then decided to listen to the other two, hoping to jump in at a point of a conversation where she could contribute meaningfully. Thinking about Astrid's suggestion about possible classes that they might have, Tanya thought for a moment before she started to speak.
"I don't remember ever going camping before. It sounds like a lot of fun though." Tanya happily started thinking about possible scenarios they might get into at the camp, if they did go camping. Hopefully it wasn't anything too life threatening.

Astrid explained about how she did a lot of travelling as well, 'mostly for shows.' Suddenly, Astrid acting like a celebrity back in Seria's battle with her made shocking amounts of sense. So she was probably like some sort of pop star in the past who went around performing in a lot of shows. Seria nodded, finally taking this into mind. Seria still didn't know who exactly Astrid was, though, but this seemed to be the most logical conclusion to come to. She nodded and soon Astrid wondered out loud what that class might possibly be like. Camping out in the mountains did sound quite pleasant. Seria had gone camping out in Mt. Coronet and in the area by Snowpoint before, where she had learned to cope with the harsh cold climates. Tanya seemed to agree that camping sounded like a fun activity, though.
"Camping does sound pretty fun," Seria said, smiling. "In Sinnoh there's this great mountain called Mt. Coronet, where my parents and I went camping in search of some information about a godlike legendary Pokemon. But we didn't get very far until we found out it was too dangerous." Seria sighed, fidgeting. "It's very cold, and helped me become more acclimated to the outdoors. I might not look it, but I'm an outdoors kind of girl." she said, almost a bit proudly.

"Don't worry about it," Astrid said, waving Tanya's apology off. She turned back to Seria, smiling as she described Mt. Coronet. "I know it. You can see it from the whole island, it's huge!" She realized as she said it that, with an island region like Sinnoh, being able to see a mountain like that from anywhere was pretty obvious. Oh well. "I don't think I'd handle it well, though. Unova gets pretty cold in the winter, and I'm not too comfortable with that either. I almost had to do an outdoor show in Driftveil City once in the cold, but thankfully it got cancelled by a surprise snowstorm." She sighed. "I'm not sure what they were thinking with that one in the first place. Probably that it wasn't supposed to be that cold."
She shuddered, but quickly perked up afterwards. "Still, I'd like to visit Mt. Coronet sometime when I can handle it better. I've heard there's a pretty strong magnetic field in and around it, and I'm curious what causes it."

When the both of them started talking about Sinnoh, Tanya zoned out. She tried to make herself look like she was listening, when in fact she was just thinking about other stuff. What would their classes be like? While she did realize that breeding would be somewhat important, Tanya didn't really find her first class to be that thrilling. In comparison, Miss. Eisenberg somehow captivated her attention and made battle tactics interesting. It was probably more to do with the teacher than anything else.
Looking at the sky, the day was slowly fading away. Thinking about it, the three of them had been here for a long time. Maybe it was time for them to head back. Getting off of her stump, Tanya started to stretch her body. She was starting to feel a bit stiff seating on that stump for a long time.
"It's getting late guys, we probably should head back." Tanya informed the others, walking towards the marked tree and leaning against it. "I'll show you guys the marks I made so you can find your way back here."

Seria faced Tanya, who looked like she was listening, but Seria couldn't actually tell otherwise. As Tanya looked at the sky, Seria turned her gaze the same way. The sky's color was changing. Wow, had they been out here that long? Seria smiled and heaved a sigh of contentment as Tanya said that they should probably head back. She stood up and went towards a marked tree. "Alright, Tanya. Let's go back. It was nice to be here and talk and hang out with the two of you, even if it did get awkward at points." she said, as she also stood up and went towards Tanya.
Soon, she turned to face Astrid. "Come on, it'll get dark soon and we won't be able to see those marks!"

"Huh? Oh," Astrid said. She hadn't actually realized that it was already starting to get dark. "Right. Of course." She did want to remember this spot especially while, as Seria said, she could still see the marks that Tanya had made. She slid off the stump and stood up, walking over to Tanya. "We should do this again sometime. Doesn't have to be here. Just...hang out. The three of us." Yeah, it had gotten awkward at points, but that was only natural when people talked face to face. And at least it hadn't ended up turning into a shouting match like almost all of her later talks with her manager had. And despite the occasional awkwardness, Astrid had enjoyed herself, and felt like she had a good budding friendship going with Tanya and Seria. They'd definitely have to meet up like this again.

"Most definitely, I've had a blast with you guys." Tanya said happily, turning to face and smile at the other girls. Today had been fun, even with the awkward moments that were interlaced in the time they spent together. Maybe it was just because they were comfortable with each other, to the point where they could be honest about their feelings. Whatever the case was, Tanya knew it was a good thing.
"I'll point out all the marks. Come on, let's go!" Tanya called out, laughing happily as she directed the girls out of the forest. She was so glad that she found this place. It was like a secret garden. A place to share with only her close friends. At the moment, Seria and Astrid were those friends. For that, she was thankful.
