A Chance Encounter (Tanya)

Soft footsteps echoed through the hallway as Amanda entered into the living area. With a soft sigh: she sat down onto one of the many sofas by the indoor river: allowing her purse to drop to her side.
It really had been a long day for her. Between the classes and a small gathering she had chosen to attend after that, the Kalosian girl was virtually exhausted. As an echo to her feelings, her Hariyama slowly entered the room after his trainer: mimicking her in more ways the one as she slumped to the floor.
Amanda couldn't help but feel a bit guilty about having her Pokemon follow her all day, yet the Shiny had been insistent on it. Ever since his evolution: Fisto had been quite adamant about accompanying his lady to all possible occasions. She had humored her Pokemon, if only not to disappoint him. Yet the blonde wondered if it wasn't a bit too much for the young Pokemon to handle.
Shrugging: Amanda turned her head, quietly gazing into the flowing water. The room was practically empty, as at the current hour: most of the students were out having lunch or class. She considered possibly getting something to eat, perhaps calling Seria to meet with her. Yet the girl was so exhausted that she couldn't find herself willing to leave the room.
''Prenons un moment pour se reposer, bien Fisto?'' she smiled at her Pokemon, only for him to nod quietly in agreement.

Bored bored bored. Tanya was in a right state as she wandered around Wave dorm. It was one of the only times when she didn't have anything to do, and she hated it. She hated being lazy and just doing nothing. She liked doing stuff. She liked being active and doing a pokemon battle or something. She even would prefer to be in classes, even Breeding. Yet no, she didn't have anything to do.
Slouching in her stature, Tanya drifted into the living room, hoping to find someone to talk to there. To her disappointment, most of the room was empty. Tanya let out a disheartened sigh. Was everyone else really that busy? The only thing that stuck out to her was the Shiny Hariyama.
So Amanda evolved that already, huh?
If that Hariyama was there, that had to mean that Amanda was there as well. Grinning mischeviously, Tanya came up with an idea. She didn't think Amanda knew that Tanya knew that Seria and her were in a relationship. She could have a little fun with that.
Creeping over, she tried to stay hidden and sneak up to Amanda. She put such effort into being bored mostly out of sheer boredom. It wasn't like many people were here or anything. Making sure that she wasn't spotted by Amanda, Tanya tip toed over to her then put her head really close to her ear.
"You and Seria looked like you had a lot of fun at the Party Pier." Tanya teased, a cheshire grin on her face as she said it.

Amanda yelped in surprise at the sudden sound, jumping forward only to find herself practically falling off the sofa. On cue: Fisto leaped into action, his large palms catching his lady softly. Preventing her from falling into the river and getting herself soaked. Glancing over to the newcomer: the Pokemon glared in her direction menacingly. He recognized her from an earlier battle, certainly: but her endangering his Mistress was certainly no way to get on the Hariyamas good side. Helping Amanda to her feet, he turned his attention fully towards Tanya: folding his arms in a warning fashion.
Amanda meanwhile: was breathing heavily in surprise, hand clutched to her chest. ''Y-you startled me!'' she gasped: her face bright red from the insinuation her fellow Wave Dormer had made.

Well she didn't expect that to happen. She guess she was somewhat thankful for the fact that the Hariyama was able to catch his trainer. At the back of her mind though, she sorta wanted to see the girl get soaked. It probably would've been pretty funny. She wasn't going to tell Amanda that though. Especially since the Hariyama didn't look too pleased about it.
"I didn't think you'd jump that badly." Tanya sheepishly apologized, trying to keep back her laughter as she scratched the back of her head. It didn't help that the Hariyama towered over her, being at least two inches taller than her. She wasn't too scared of him though. After all, she had her own pokemon.
Getting out her pokeball, Tanya released Dani. While Dani was still smaller than the Hariyama, she was not intimidated by him in the slightest. Moving in front of Tanya, she glared at him in the eyes, practically threatening the pokemon to try and hurt her trainer. Tanya decided to leave the two of them to it. She knew Dani would keep her safe after all.
"Don't worry Amanda, Seria told me about what was going on between you two." Tanya reassured Amanda blithely, plopping herself onto the couch next to Amanda. "I am her friend after all." Tanya added, giving Amanda a friendly wink.

A sigh escaped her lips as Amanda rubbed her forehead, exhaustion and shock together having left her in a bit of a daze. As she recovered, her Hariyama continued to stare down the other girl: position shifting to a combative stance as the Dragalge was released. The tension between the two was thick enough to carve with a knife: and it only elected an unladylike groan from the dizzy girl.
''Both of you, cut it out!'' she barked to the standoffish duo. Rather annoyed at their posing. A conflict was hardly what she needed at that moment, especially given that Tanya was a friend.
With a weary gaze, she nodded to the other girl, her face still red, only heating more as Tanya winked ''Oui... I suppose there is something going on now... although I'm not exactly certain what it might be...'' she explained. Following her past few experiences with Seria: Amanda wasn't quite certain how they stood at that point. She wasn't quite sure if she knew how to express exactly how she felt.

Tanya giggled at Amanda's chiding of the two pokemon. Dani looked down towards Tanya, who nodded her head. Dani gave one last sour look towards the Hariyama before drifting back towards her trainer, who proceeded to stroke her, making sure she stayed away from all the poisonous parts of her body.
"Well, with the way that Seria gushed about you to me, it seemed like the something that you two have together is pretty good." Tanya informed Amanda, giving her a friendly smile. The girl seemed tired. Did she have a long day? It was still somewhere around midday. She didn't pay too much attention to the time when she had nothing on. Maybe she should try that out sometime.
For a moment, she stayed silent, continuing to stroke Dani. Occasionally letting out soft cries, Dani still took occasions to shoot daggers at the Hariyama. To Dani, no one touches her trainer like that. Even though she was closer to Tanya, she stayed in the way between her and the Fighting type pokemon just in case.
"Do you want it to be something more? Like a proper relationship I mean?" She asked, tilting her head as she asked the question. It probably wasn't her business, but she wanted to know the answer. Seria was her friend after all.

As the Poison Dragon backed down, so did the Hariyama. Sitting down near his trainer to protect her should the need arise, still glaring at the other Pokemon. Posion-Types made him nervous, yet another addition to his worries. They could seriously harm Amanda if they put their mind to it, and to the Shiny: he was worried that he might not be able to do much about it if that were the case. The scar on his side began to ache: a reminder of how dangerous the world could be.
Amanda meanwhile simply gazed into the distance: not particularly focusing on anything as she considered what Tanya had asked her. ''I'm... not quite sure...'' she sighed, folding her arms. Normally, she wouldn't quite have been willing to discuss such personal matters so casually. Yet, it was a rare enough situation in which her exhaustion and hunger simply removed her concern. ''I like her, I really, certainly, truly like her...'' she tilted her head to face Tanya: ''... but she is quite amazing... and I suppose, I'm simply worried about going too fast and creating a problem. It's hardly something I'm sure I know how to handle, I don't want to risk what we have...''

Tanya kept her ears open, listening to what Amanda had to say about her relationship with Seria. Judging from what she said, it seemed to be a mixed feeling. She really liked her, but was scared of going way too fast. Relationships like that sounded so complex and ridiculous. They must be really special to them if they were willing to put themselves through that to maintain it. It didn't really seem like Tanya's thing though.
"I guess just go with what feels comfortable." Tanya commented, shrugging her shoulders and slouching into the seat. Tanya frowned. From the sounds of it, Amanda felt somewhat confused about where they stood. Maybe if Tanya nudged her, she could help her make a decision. However, Tanya also worried about Seria. She saw how people could get heart-broken in films and tv shows. She didn't want the same to happen to Seria.
"Whatever you do do though, make sure you don't hurt Seria." Tanya warned, looking at Amanda and seriously looking into her eyes. "She's my friend and if you do something to hurt her, you will regret it. She doesn't deserve anything like that." Amanda was her friend, but Seria was her friend as well. She was closer to Seria though. She didn't feel the need to mince words with her.
The atmosphere was getting too serious now though. That was probably her fault. She was worried about Seria and she didn't know what relationships were like. Maybe she shouldn't have been as threatening as she was. Then again, maybe that was the only way to get her point across.

Amanda nodded quietly, turning away from Tanya looking once more into the distance. Although her thoughts had not been on Seria when she had initially sat down: they were now dominated by the Nature Dormer.
''I have no desire or intention of briser son cœur...'' she spoke, softly. ''I suppose I might be selfish for feeling this way, but I fear more for my own...''
Tears began to form in the eyes of the blonde girl, as she shivered and huddled up in the corner of the couch, increasingly upset and unable to dismiss her troublesome thoughts.
It was enough for Fisto. Angrily, the Shiny stood up once more: looming over the girl. The earlier threat, though well meant: had drawn his attention to Tanya. Now that Amanda was on the verge of breaking down: he was fully prepared to do something. Unfortunately, although as intelligent as anyone: the Hariyama simply did not understand the situation in it's intricacies no better than his Lady. That upset him greatly, for it wasn't something he could protect her against. It was some nebulous force that he could not grab or punch. At that very moment, the force seemed to be emanating from Tanya.

Tanya felt that she missed something pretty big. She couldn't speak Kalosian. Therefore, the statement that she said flew over her head and the next thing she knew, Amanda started to break down into tears. In shock about what to do, Tanya sat there, her mouth hanging open. Her mind was shutting down and she couldn't think about how to respond. Maybe she was being too harsh?
Noticing that the Hariyama stood up, the Dragalge drifted right up towards the Hariyama and stared him down. She could immediately tell that the Hariyama seemed to regard Tanya as a threat, causing Dani to regard him as a threat. She showed no fear, confidently standing in between her trainer and him and staying resolute. She was never going to let anyone hurt her trainer. Not if she could count on it.
Tanya honestly didn't know what to do. She just stared at the girl, trying to comprehend the situation that she had found herself in. This was not the Amanda she had a battle with. She didn't know who this girl was. Was this what relationships did to people? Did it rip them apart like this? If it did, Tanya thought that she probably needed to talk to Seria about this. Maybe she should get her out of this before something really bad happens. If Amanda was like this, Tanya didn't even want to see how Seria would act.

Slowly pulling her legs to her chest: Amanda sat curled on the sofa, crying softly. Her relationship with Seria had begun so wonderfully; and had simply gotten better from there out. Yet, for some reason she was overwhelmed with anxiety and panic over the whole thing; even though she knew that she had no reason to feel like that.
She hated herself for it.
While the girl continued to ignore Tanya, lost in her despair. Her Hariyama loomed angrily over everyone. Now hesitating. Every instinct of his told him to dispose of the thread in the easiest possible manner. Yet, the expression on the face of the other girl gave him pause: forcing him to contemplate whether or not he was missing something there. This was no physical threat that he could dismiss.

As Amanda continued to cry, Tanya just watched. It was almost like watching a tragedy. Just seeing someone crack and break down like this, just because of intense feelings they had for another person. People said love was a good thing, but was it really? Oleg turned into a bumbling mess when he was around Kyrie and now Amanda was breaking down in tears due to her relationship with Seria. To her, it seemed to act like such a negative force.
"Amanda, umm if you're acting like this, are you sure it's a good idea to have a relationship with Seria?" Tanya asked with concern, moving over and rubbing her back. It was mostly something she did by instinct. It mostly came in handy when consoling her younger brothers.
"I mean like, this wasn't the Amanda that I battled against in the arena. Both you and Seria are my friends and if the relationship is making you feel like this, maybe it's better not to be in one." Tanya sounded unconfident in her consoling, but it seemed to be the thing that made sense to her. Was love really all that it was cracked up to be? TV shows always focused on love being this force of good, but seeing people in real life and seeing TV shows and films which explored heartbreak, Tanya had doubts that love was this positive force.
While this was happening, Dani was still trying to confront the Hariyama. She knew that she had to act quickly if she saw any signs of him being aggressive towards Tanya. Tanya was a good trainer and that was all that mattered to her. Staying in her spot and forming a barrier between Hariyama and Tanya, the Dragalge firmly stood in the way of the pokemon.

Shaking her head, Amanda shifted away from the other girl. Unwilling to speak. All Tanya seemed to do was feed into her anxiety and fear. She didn't want to lose Seria, yet all she could think of was how any single possible reaction could only end in her losing the other girl. Something she so desperately and immensely wanted to avoid. Right now: she wanted nothing to do with anyone else.
The Hariyama finally moved, finished with idly watching by as his lady suffered: he leaned in, collecting the broken Amanda in his immense hands. He nodded solemnly to the other girl, recognizing that any fault of hers had likely been unintentional. Then merely turned around, carrying the blonde safely to her room. Leaving Tanya alone with her Pokemon.

Tanya really messed up this time, didn't she? She wasn't even sure what she did wrong as well. She tried to console her with advice that she thought was logical, but apparently that didn't sit well with her. Instead, she just shook her head, apparently unable to talk completely. It seemed to her that whatever she said, Amanda wasn't having any of it and was just vehemently denying everything.
An awkward feeling lingered in the air when the Hariyama decided to intervene. For a moment, she was prepared for her to get hit by the pokemon. Fortunately for her it seemed, he just went to collect her trainer, since she seemed incapable of doing anything else. Tanya briefly registered the nod as she watched the shiny pokemon leave, not really sure what to do with herself anymore.
Getting out her pokeball, she returned Dani before slumping on the couch and letting out a sigh. Just what the hell came over Amanda today? She was a wreck. Almost to the point where she was dysfunctional. Love seemed to be such a powerful force, but seeing Amanda act like that was unsettling. She didn't want to see anyone act like that, especially people she was close to.
She needed to get to Seria. She needed to get her to cancel this relationship that they had. Maybe if she got to her fast enough, she'll be able to prevent what happened to Amanda happen to her as well. Though when Tanya thought about how happy Seria was when talking about Amanda, she got really confused. She seemed so happy talking about her and seeing her gush like that was not something she saw too often.
Putting her hands in her head, she thought about what the hell she was going to do. Why would people put themselves through stuff like this? She didn't understand it. She didn't understand it one bit. She needed to talk to Seria. She needed to talk to her if not to convince her that this relationship was a bad thing, but maybe to understand just what the hell love even is. Why did she find herself in these situations?
She honestly didn't know.

''Upupupupu... Anata wa kono yōna orokana wakai josei!''
As Tanya sat alone on the couch: the Pokemon saw his opportunity. While his ''mistress'' had been preoccupied with slowly losing herself to her silly emotions: he had allowed himself out of the Pokeball, content to watch. Now that she was gone: here was a wonderful opportunity for mischief. has appeared!
Slowly fading into view: the Duskull grinned through his mask: single eye floating from socket to socket as it leered at the girl before him. She seemed so confused, so uncertain: such a perfect seed to plant some delicious despair. ''Upupupu... do you not agree silly girl...'' he chuckled, a dry rattle-like sound. ''Upsetting my mistress like that, so very very rude indeed. Upupupupu!''
