Amanda shook her head, doing her best not to lose composure. Despite it, she could see the angry looking fish, it bothered her. Somewhat vengefully, a flick of her wrist released a rather serious-looking Hariyama. The shiny instantly got to glaring down at the Carvanha angrily: making it perfectly clear for him to back off.
''You were the better trainer, that's perfectly fine, and I congratulate you for it...'' Amanda sighed, crossing her arms. ''It's just that... I can't handle it, I can't handle any of this: the battles, seeing my Pokemon get hurt. When I was younger, I thought it was so romantic, at the Chateau... it looked fun. But with the Mavro invasion, with things getting serious... I don't know if I have what it takes to be here...I'm weak...''
The blonde glanced up at Tanya, tears in her eyes barely held back by her lingering willpower.

Nicholai didn't seem daunted by the Hariyama, even though it was gigantic in comparison to him. In fact, he glared back at the pokemon, undaunted by the prospect of fighting against him. Noticing the pokemon, Tanya got out a pokeball and released Dani, who proceeded to glare at the Hariyama, and then give a warning look towards Nicholai. Nicholai looked begrudgingly at Dani before moving to Tanya's other side and looking expectantly at her.
"Geez..." Tanya sighed, looking down at Nicholai and petting him softly. She didn't really know what to say to her. Having seen her break down, she wondered whether or not she should just coddle her. Yet coddling was not going to get her anywhere. "So you're weak. What are you going to do about it?"
Tanya crossed her arms and looked seriously at Amanda. "We're all weak at one point. Yes, the battle at Marvo City was a thing. That's reality and if you aren't going to face your challenges and get stronger then you might as well just go home." She was probably sounding harsh. Heck, she probably was, but she felt that this was the best way to get her to realize that she could be better. Seria was probably going to shout at her for this, but she felt these were the words that needed to be said.
"The whole point of being here is to get experience and be ready to face the real world. If you don't think you can handle it, there's not much point in being at the academy. I could coddle you, say that it's ok and whatnot, but what's that going to do? Strength, I feel, isn't a thing you're born with. It's a thing you get over time when you face adversities. If you let me, I'll help you, but I can't do it alone. You have to want to get stronger as well."
Staying quiet for a moment, she looked towards Dani and Nicholai. She couldn't help but think about her mom after giving that lecture. She was the reason she was the person she was today and for that, she was thankful. Looking back at Amanda, she gave a determined smile.
"Now, you with me or what?"

With a soft sigh, Amanda pulled herself up, wiping away any trace of wetness from her face with a sleeve. Hardly the most ladylike gesture, but for now she had other things: more important things, on her mind.
''Alright...'' she muttered, getting herself together enough to look Tanya in the eyes. ''Fine, if you want to help me, then we can train together. We'll go somewhere a bit more dangerous and see if we can't make our Pokemon better...''
Amanda glared, oddly colder than usual. ''Mavro was a big deal for me, and I plan to make the monsters responsible for it pay for what they did, no matter what!'' She nodded for emphasis, idly stroking the scars on her hand.
