Attacking the Windmill [Mission: Blissfury Giant]

Amanda smoothed down the dust that had settled on her skirt, looking back up to survey the plains before her. At her side: her three largest Pokemon accompanied her, much like their trainer, they were all searching the area for any potential threats or targets of interest.
An air of concern hung over the group, the three Pokemon exchanging worried looks among themselves whenever Amanda wasn't paying attention. It had only been a while since the event at Mavro, and she had been, for lack of a better word: a wreck. Yet, despite all odds, the young girl had forced herself to continue and improve as a trainer, certainly making progress to that end. Progress that was now in danger of being stunted by this mission: as Amanda had signed up at the first mention of Team Origin. Although her calm attitude did not betray it, to her Pokemon it was obvious the girl wanted revenge: something they weren't sure would end well. That sort of thing never did.
Truthfully, the neither Pokemon nor trainer had any clue what they were looking for, all the mission had stated was spotting some large gigantic construct in the plains. The presence of a device or a giant was at it's most optimistic: absurd. A skeptic could easily argue that it was merely an optical illusion from the constant lightning-strikes, or some funky shaped windmill one could mistake for a giant, should one be a deranged bibliophile.
So far, they had seen nothing, and while Amanda had yearned to go further in, her Pokemon convinced her to wait. Two other mission tickets had been accepted before the girl grabbed the last one, and two more people were due to arrive. There was safety in numbers, and perhaps whoever joined them would keep their mistress from flying off the handle.

Seria had made it to the Blissfury Plains, the place where there was a mission to be taken, something to do with neutralizing some sort of threat. By her side was Severa the Liepard, who had taken to looking about the area as well to help out, and soon it was apparent that it would perhaps take some time before it arrived. Though, instead they were greeted with the sight of Amanda who appeared to be also on the same mission. Three of her Pokemon were already outside and observing, the Munchlax appeared to have evolved into a Snorlax, and she also had a Hariyama and a Swampert. Very bulky and reliable Pokemon, to say the least. "Hello, sweetheart." Seria said, approaching the blonde young lady and greeting her with a gentle hug.
"It's nice to see that you're...-" Seria tried to see Amanda's disposition and she stopped speaking once she realized something was off. "...Amy... Is everything alright?"

Astrid had exactly one reason for taking this mission. It wasn't anything to do with Team Origin, or even what threat it might pose to the school. No, it was nothing that serious, or even that reasonable. The only reason Astrid had taken the mission was that she had seen the listing on the mission board, and immediately thought 'maybe it's a giant robot'.
And then, that thought never went away.
Of course, now that she was out on the thunderstorm planes, she wasn't quite as excited for it. Somewhere between signing up for the mission and actually getting out there, reality had set in and she had come to recognize that it was probably something more mundane. But a girl could dream, right? So, while Astrid had calmed down and was no longer excitedly running out of her dorm, she was still hopeful. She looked around for any sign of a gigantic whatever-it-was, or failing that whoever would be working with her for this. Magnate floated at her side, now a UFO-like Magnezone.
She found the latter first, delighted to see that Seria was one of her partners. One of her fellow Contest Club founders as well, who if Astrid was remembering right, was the girl Seria had hit it off so well with. That...had some potential to be really awkward, actually. Astrid didn't want to end up as a third wheel.
Nonetheless, the hope of seeing a giant robot kept Astrid there, although she managed to hide her eagerness as she approached the other two girls. "Hey Seria. Hey Amanda," she said, recalling the latter name from the club roster.

The plains were very plain. If, you know, you excluded the vicious, continuous lightning and the roar of thunder. No rain, though. That meant no mud. Good for you lot, huh? Other than the whole “nature's fury screaming and shaking the earth” deal, you realize the place is very peaceful. As in, too peaceful. Still, stagnant. It's as though everything is hiding for some reason. Well, almost everything. Seems you got some rowdy greetings from a small crew of dudes. Put up your dukes, ladies. It's time for a rumble.

Amanda greeted both girls with a polite nod, even Seria. Although she would have normally happily embraced and kissed her girlfriend at that point, she had other things to worry about. This display did not go unnoticed by any of her Pokemon, yet as they agreed upon prodding their trainer for an explanation, they were ambushed.
For a change, it was the Pokemon that were caught off guard, rather than Amanda. With a nod towards the other two girls, she pointed a Pokemon to each of them. ''Seria, you take the Dunsparce, Astrid, the little squirrel.''
Her commands stated to he companions, she glared at her Hariyama. ''I don't have time for the rabble of the plains, end it with one hit..''
The Hariyama nodded, somewhat perturbed by his Mistresses unusual behavior. Still, the Fighter was not going to dismiss any direct orders, and the tone of voice told him this wasn't going to be a capture or a normal fight. Looking at the Boufflant coldly, he inspected the afrobull for any points of weakness. It was a tough creature, clearly hardened by years and years of growing up in a tough environment. Except for one spot, a visible scar on his back. Likely from some earlier conflict, it showed a potential weak spot to where the Pokemon could be disabled.
Dashing forward with incredible speed, before the bull could even react: the Shiny slammed his fist into the weak spot, putting his entire force behind it. The dust around cleared, the bull seemingly unaffected by the attack.
Until it fell down, without a sound: the Pokemon fainted, one-shot by the Hariyama. Proudly, the Pokemon turned to face Amanda, only to be dissapointed as he noticed she was scarcely paying attention, seemingly more interested in searching the area.
He glanced over his shoulder back at the bull, feeling a pang of guilt build within him. He didn't know why, but something about this situation felt off, not even the strange behavior his trainer exhibited. As the Shiny slowly paced back to the group, he contemplated what it could possibly be.
The scar on his side ached, it always ached when something didn't feel right.
A wild Boufflant appeared! Hariyama used Close Combat! STAB Bonus! Super Effective! Boufflant fainted!

Seria nodded as Amanda responded in kind; from the silence Seria assumed something was up. Perhaps it had something to do with the recent events regarding Team Origin. That seemed most likely given the fact that she was here to take the mission with Astrid and her. Eventually, a group of three Pokemon arrived to try and blindside the three girls. Amanda told Seria to take the Dunsparce, which she obliged to doing so, thanks to the fact that she actually wanted a Dunsparce. In fact, she went there right away. Seria went over to the land-snake Pokemon and threw out a Pokeball, calling out for Zenith, the Tyrogue. The Tyrogue hopped out and punched his fists together excitedly, looking for a fight.
"Alright, just go at it with the Tackle." Seria called out, fully aware that baby Pokemon had a pretty weak movepool and so she had to deal with it in the name of making him stronger. The Pokemon rushed towards the Dunsparce in a frenzy, tackling him as fiercely as he could. Unfortunately, Dunsparce had a tendency to be a bit tough. It simply responded by flailing about and slapping his body against Zenith in return. "Again with the Tackle, please." Seria said, clearly unamused by this turn of events.
The Tyrogue once again body slammed into the Dunsparce. Looks like this would take a while. The Dunsparce turned around, whirred its drill-like tail and began wriggling backwards and pushing the drill into the Tyrogue's legs, which made him whine in some pain and trip over. "You've still got this in the bag. Regain your composure and Tackle again." Seria nodded as Zenith shook himself off and looked mightily angry at the Dunsparce, tackling him again. The snake in return started flailing more violently as he became more aware of a certain death or capture.
Zenith felt every bit of it but that only served to make him more determined to take the nutter down. "Once more, another tackle." Seria commanded as the Tyrogue struck the Dunsparce for another mighty blow. At least that's what the Tyrogue thought of himself once he realized his tackle made the Dunsparce spin about in place and soon collapse... as if a snake Pokemon could actually collapse. In any case, Seria took out an Academy Ball and threw it at the Dunsparce because she wanted it.

Yeah, something was up. Astrid was curious what it was, but...now wasn't really the best time to ask. Not in the middle of a mission where they were looking for a giant robot. Or...whatever they were actually looking for. Probably not a giant robot, although she still kinda hoped that it would be. And, perhaps more urgently, they had disgruntled wild Pokemon to deal with. Astrid turned her attention towards the target she'd been asked to deal with. An Emolga. Easy enough, although she didn't particularly want it. Oh well, she could attack it until it stopped causing trouble at least.
"Come on out," Astrid said, tossing out a ball. Her Metagross emerged from it, shaking the ground beneath its feet as it landed and braced itself to fight. The Emolga immediately gave a panicked squeak as it saw the gigantic opponent, making illusory clones of itself in hopes of avoiding getting mauled by the first hit. But, rather than calling anything that a Metagross would be likely to know, Astrid thought for a minute, then gave a different order. "Foul Play!" Astrid said. The Metagross lunged forward, much faster than the giant quadripedal robot should have been able to, and in a flash of spiked legs and the Emolga's own tiny limbs, it had hit itself for an unpleasant mess of damage. The Emolga countered in a panic, firing off an electrical discharge at it, which in turn seemed to have much more of an effect than it should have. The Metagross's body flickered, then vanished, leaving a Zorua in its place. "Well then," Astrid said. "That didn't take long. Oh well. Duo, Foul Play again!" Astrid said. The Zorua lunged, this time looking fit for the speed it moved, and attacked the Emolga in a chaotic mess of blows, ending with the flying rodent falling out of the sky and back to the ground, unconscious. Duo, meanwhile, landed more gracefully despite taking a serious hit from the earlier Discharge, and bounded back to Astrid's side.

Oh my. You beat a few guys that were comfortable enough with the situation to come out and greet you. Geez. All of you students are so rude. You even shoved one into a Pokeball. Gosh. You all suck. Anyway, moving on, it seems like those were the only ones there to greet you for the time being. Proceeding onward, you find yourself thinking something feels off. Upon closer inspection, you notice the faded imprint of. . . something large and circular. It's uncertain as to what it is, or even if it's related to the mission, but it is there. How will you proceed?

Amanda held up her hand, signalling the entire group to stop as they reached a certain spot. Kneeling to the ground, she inspected the imprint in the soft dirt. It wasn't fresh, but it certainly wasn't anything she recognized. Investigation Check: B5bW0Cmy1-20The young girl withdrew her Pokedex, flicking through the footprint database. Nothing seemingly matched the dent from what she could tell, at least not something that large. The device fizzled as she continued to search, begging an annoyed smack from the girl. Whatever it seemed to be, her Pokedex was reacting poorly to all the ambient electricity in the area, it wouldn't be much use to her here. At the very least, she had no clue what the imprint was. Amanda sighed, pushing herself up and staring at the others. ''We should see if we can figure anything out about this imprint, unless any of you have a better idea.''
Amanda wants to continue investigating the imprint, do Seria and Astrid agree with her choice, or do they wish for a different option? Amanda will follow the majority vote.
The Hariyama gazed upon the imprint curiously, raising one of his own feet to compare the size. Not nearly the same. He felt quite embarrassed, much to the confusion of the other two Pokemon. 1-20

Seria put away the Pokeball with the captured Dunsparce and began to follow Amanda on the way through the plains; and eventually the blonde signalled everyone to stop as they reached a certain spot along the path which looked to be an imprint in the soft dirt. The imprint looked pretty unnatural - that didn't really seem like it could be the footprint of a Pokemon. Regardless, Amanda chose to investigate it and Seria honestly couldn't blame her. The PokeDex returned nothing, at least, and Amanda's own PokeDex was reacting pretty badly and it was around this time Seria's PokeDex reacted the same way. "Looks like there's high levels of interference in the area," Seria said. "Well, let's try and investigate this thing a bit more because it could probably be a clue. I don't see anything else we can find that would be more useful at the moment." Seria agreed with Amanda's decision to investigate the imprint.

Astrid followed behind the two of them, stopping only when Amanda signaled them to. And, immediately, it was obvious what they had stopped for. Ahead of them, there was an imprint of considerable size in the dirt. It was large, circular, faded enough to be old (or at least, not made within the last few minutes), and while they couldn't be sure it had anything to do with the mission, it didn't feel natural either. Astrid walked up to it, hearing both of them comment about interference in the area. "Well of course there is, with this much charge in the area," Astrid said, looking up just in time to catch sight of another lightning bolt hitting the nearest towering lightning rod. "That said, this thing..." She turned her attention back down to the imprint, looking it over for the second. "Judging by the size and shape, it could be what we're after. I still want to say 'giant robot', but unless there's more of them, that's probably out." She decided to investigate as well, for what good could possibly come of it. Maybe she'd at least get another cool idea for what might have left it. While she was at it, she took a glance around the area to see if there were any similar imprints nearby.

You stared at the hole. The hole did a trick. Except, not really. In fact, staring at the hole accomplished nothing, due to the weather and other nonsense. Maybe you'd've had a better chance digging through the earth? Well, either way, you accomplished nothing. However, fortunately (or unfortunately, your choice), the ground begins to shake violently in rhythmic bouts, as though something large were stepping nearby. Gradually, a large yellow mass, towering some good thirty feet into the air, steps onto and over a hill. It's almost humanoid in shape, but it has an oddly furry look to it. It definitely seemed organic over metallic. Perhaps it was drawn by the sounds of battle?
Either way, as it approaches, the mass emits a low hum.

Amanda frowned, the search around the imprint had yielded very little, and it seemed like they were wasting time around it, simply searching for something long gone that would be only getting further and further away the more they dallied here. Sighing, she was about to call for a change of tactics when the ground began to shake. Girl and Pokemon turned to face the source of the noise, an uncharacteristically cold smile creeping on the face of the Kalosian. It seemed that the object they were looking for had found them, whatever that thing was. A gesture signaled for all three of her Pokemon to take up a readied stance: as Amanda stared down the strange creature. Clearly, it was some strange device built by Team Origin for some destructive purpose, there could be no other explanation for the strange battle-ready device. ''Fisto, Muddy...'' she drew the attention of her Pokemon. ''Neutralize that thing, Shabboneau, you stay ready to tag in, everyone else: you can fight or you can watch, I don't care.'' Her Pokemon nodded obediently, taking their signaled positions. They were all nervous, especially the trainer, biting her lip: she contemplated what that thing could be capable of. VS Amanda pointed at the strange yellow giant. ''Test it's power, use Close Combat and Hammer Arm! Break the shell!'' Her Pokemon roared with vigor, both of them dashing towards the large furry windmill, readying their blows. Swampert used Hammer Arm! 100 Physical Fighting Damage! Seria sighed as it turned out that the imprint didn't really indicate anything obvious then and there; in fact it might have been better to move along? Regardless, the ground started to shake all of a sudden and soon enough a large yellow mass appeared, it had some kind of furry look to it despite it being humanoid in shape, like it was some sort of yellow devil or something ridiculous. It began to make some strange, low humming sounds and Seria looked at its feet. Perhaps it matched the imprints on the ground? Anyway, there was no time for that. Seria looked at Amanda and shuddered a little bit. It looks like the reason why Amanda took on this mission was because she wanted a chance to fight something that was clearly Team Origin's handiwork. Was this even their's? It seemed likely.
Amanda ordered her Hariyama and her Swampert to attack right away, and she said to Seria and Astrid that they could do as they pleased, she really didn't care. Seria sighed, genuinely concerned about the Kalosian and stood by her. "Don't be like that, you know I'll support you at any time. OK, come out, Carrie and Seyoung!" Seria threw out two Pokeballs and sent out the Cincinno and the Galvantula. The Cincinno wiggled and so did the Galvantula, warming up and ready to receive orders. "Carrie, use Rock Blast! And Seyoung, use your Bug Buzz!" Seria commanded.
The Cincinno tampered with the ground with her tail and gathered some large rocks, pretending they were tennis balls. Then, she whacked the rocks at the giant thing with her tail as hard as she could. Meanwhile, Seyoung let out a soft, low hum, and began vibrating madly, releasing terrifyingly painful sound waves that were launched directly at the yellow giant.

Hm...nothing of interest, huh? Nothing they could find, at least. Astrid sighed. Maybe it was tome to keep going. Not like the electrical storm overhead was helping with any mechanical investigation. Then the ground began to shake, with a slow, steady rhythm that could easily be interpreted as footsteps. Astrid looked up. Then she saw it. A big...yellow...furry...something or other. Not a robot. Probably not a robot. But it was very large, and ready to fight, and...Amanda just immediately went and had her Pokemon attack it.
Great. If it wasn't already hostile, it certainly would be now. Nothing to do but to start defending herself as well. "Hey, hey," Astrid said, hearing Amanda's words. "We're in this too, aren't we? We're not going to leave you on your own here." Though she said that, going all in seemed like a bad idea. With the giant's sheer size, it could probably cause earthquakes just by stepping too hard, or electrical discharges just by being something lurking in this area. She'd have to approach this carefully.
"Okay, Magnate, let's play it safe for the moment. Push yourself away from the ground with Magnet Rise." The Magnezone did so, floating up and away from the ground and into the air above Astrid. Astrid, meanwhile, tossed out her Clefable's ball as well. "Lunatic, shield yourself with Cosmic Power!" Small, star-like lights gathered around Lunatic as she appeared, forming a shielding aura covering her body.
Now, she'd wait and see what the giant's first move was.
Actions: Setting up
Magnezone: Magnet Rise - gives temporary Ground immunity
Clefable: Cosmic Power - boosts defense and special defense one stage.
