Attacking the Windmill [Mission: Blissfury Giant]

It's a war machine, they said. It's a robot, you said. It has a shell, you thought! Well, they were wrong. You were wrong. Everyone was wrong! It's all a lie! Question authority and embrace anarchy! Oh, but, uh, more seriously? As all the attacks go flying at the giant, the humming becomes distorted, eventually turning into shrill, higher-pitched squeals that break apart into numerous phases. Before attacks land, the areas they would have made contact with exploded. And, by “exploded”, I mean “thousands upon thousands of Joltik screamed and ran amok”. Seemingly too afraid to battle (they probably didn't expect a fight), the literal hoard of screeching, squeaking, and otherwise fearful bugs shot about in all directions, like a wave of insectoid cuteness. Who knows, maybe some landed on your faces?

Either way, it was a good thing they fled. With numbers in the thousands, even a skilled trainer would have had issues. Unless they had Heat Wave, or something else ridiculously cheap. With the general mass of the giant having broken down, and the thousands (possibly up in the hundreds of thousands) bugs gone for the most part, the ringleaders of the “Blissfury Giant” were evident. Team Origin, the crazed citizen thought. He was wrong, though. No, it was them! The Pokemon themselves! There were six major players, it seemed. Whatever their plan was, it was ruined, thanks to you meddling kids. However, there would be no police to end this situation. No, the group looked like they wanted compensation for their ruined efforts- in the form of a battle! Some of the Joltik, it seemed, had loyalty to these “leaders”. Two for each of them, it looked.

You came this far already. You might as well ruin their day. Or praise Prosciutto. That'd be cool, too.

Amanda angrily clenched her fists, feeling the rough scars on her palm. This was absurd, all of that effort, all of that rumor, and the giant yellow thing was made of spiders!? The girl was livid, uncaring even as the frantic Joltik swarmed past her and her doubly confused Pokemon, swatting any unfortunate to land near her as she glared at the leaders.

''What sort of stupid trick is this supposed to be!?'' she yelled, chastising the rather angry-looking Pokemon. It was bad enough she had come here intending to deal with Team Origin, being played for a fool had been enough to send her off the edge.

''I'm going to teach you lot a lesson...''

As the girl fumed, staring daggers at the wild Pokemon, they seemed to split up, having decided among themselves to battle the girls in smaller groups. She didn't particularly care or notice which went off, keeping her attention on the four foolish enough to stay against her.

VS 

Amanda gestured towards her Pokemon, nodding in unison: the Hariyama slammed his fists into the ground with great force, cracking and breaking the dusty dirt into shattering fragments, the fissure rushing towards the electric Pokemon. Expecting the attack, the Swampert launched himself in front of the enemies, a shielding aura shimmering around him as the Water-Type protected himself from the damage.

The electric Pokemon were less fortunate: as the attack struck them all head-on, gravely injuring all of them as they narrowly sustained through the onslaught of flying rocks and dirt. Ironically, as Amanda could see through the fading dust, it was the weaker Joltik that had dealt with it easier, the smaller frames allowing them to slip through the attack with a bit more ease. Had the girl not been quite as livid, she would have applauded the effort.

The Electric types roared with anger, the two spiders doing so with slightly less intimidation. Brimming with static, they both called down thunder-strikes onto the field, targeting the weak water type before them. The foolish Pokemon would pay for getting so close, for destroying their marvelously wonderful giant spidertron windmill. The Swampert would... not take any damage at all?

The attacks bounced harmlessly off the shield, Muddy only grinning as he changed his stance, electricity dissipating harmlessly, the four spiders that had elected to try and chew on him ignored, at least until he swatted them off with disinterest, he actually felt guilty about what he was about to do, it wasn't sporting.

Glancing backwards to see his partner ready to endure an attack. The Swampert winked at the weakened opponents, slamming his limbs into the ground in mirror of what the Hariyama had done earlier, his partner enduring the flying debris, their opponents being knocked out by the overwhelming force. By the time it was all done, the battlefield had been reduced to a crumbled and shattered mess, all of the electrical Pokemon easily defeated by the seismic power of the duo. As he walked back, the Swampert threw an arm of the Hariyama, sticking his tongue out playfully. His attack had been much stronger, and he wasn't about to let the slightly dusty Shiny live it down.

Amanda meanwhile, ignored her jovial duo, pacing briskly through the field towards the fainted Pokemon. Calmly, she tossed a ball at the Jolteon, watching the device activate. She was still livid, certainly, but even a pathetic creature like this one could be useful to her under the right circumstances.

[Seria Floria]

Seria blinked as the attacks connected on the giant mass. Apparently, the furry appearance of said mass was actually that of a bunch of Pokemon. More specifically, Joltik. Seria's own Galvantula started to vibrate profusely as the Cincinno mildly panicked in place. Seria sighed as she scratched her head and soon saw Amanda react rather violently to the display, clearly annoyed that she was fooled by something. Seria knew Pokemon were intelligent, but not as intelligent as this. It was an eye-opening experience, though it wasn't a very pleasant one. Seria shook off some of the Joltik that landed on her body, she wasn't too bothered by it. Soon enough, some Pokemon who looked like they were too bored ended up being the perpetrators of this situation.

Seria sighed as she looked at six leader Pokemon that remained. Each of them had two Joltik to their name, and two of them had already been eliminated by Amanda in her outburst. Seria cracked her knuckles and went forward. "Carrie, get the Zebstrika with Aqua Tail. Seyoung, take care of each Joltik with a Hidden Power!" Seria grinned as the Galvantula shivered and started pelting at a small spider with fiery orbs of light. That Joltik immediately fainted. The Zebstrika was far more sturdy. He countered with a Flame Charge straight into Seyoung, who was knocked back and felt a little singed from the attack. The Electivire soon charged into the fray as well and smacked Carrie with a Low Kick, but as it seemed, the rodent was a little more durable than that and she wasn't very heavy, so she remained steadfast.

The Joltiks all launched themselves onto the larger Galvantula, and started nibbling on him furiously, it didn't hurt very much due to the Bug typing. But still, it was annoying, and Seyoung instantly dispatched another Joltik with Hidden Power once again. The Cincinno wiggled and looked annoyed. "Carrie, use Rock Blast on the Zebstrika!" and soon, she obeyed, launching rock after rock after rock on the electric zebra, and it seemed like it was enough to take him down for now. Or so Seria thought. He barely wiggled up and struck Carrie back with Wild Charge, which knocked Carrie into critical health, but also knocked himself out with the recoil. The Electivire followed up with a Thunderpunch, sealing the deal and knocking out the Cincinno. Seria sighed and recalled her into the Pokeball, and promptly sent out Antenora.

Meanwhile, the spiders, two of them now, bit and nibbled on the new entry, prompting the deer to wiggle and flail to get them off. She looked evidently disgruntled. Seyoung picked off another Joltik with Hidden Power, while Seria called out on her Sawsbuck to charge the Electivire with Horn Leech to regain back lost energy. The Electivire growled and she lunged at Antenora, striking her clean with Fire Punch. The damage was significant, but not quite enough to knock out the deer. The last remaining Joltik shot an electric web at the deer, which tangled her a little bit but was ultimately inconsequential. Seyoung knocked out the last Joltik with Hidden Power again and soon Seria clenched her fists. "And now, finish that Electivire with Double-Edge!"

Antenora whinged and charged straight into the large Electivire and rammed her horns straight into the fighter, knocking her a ways into the air and watching the wild Electivire get driven into the ground from the impact of the ramming. Antenora after the attack looked very tired.

[Astrid Sherinian]

Not attacking the mass, as it turned out, was the better idea. The others' attacks didn't so much connect as burst right through the mass. It seemed to recoil away from the points of impact, then fell apart in a rain of electrical bugs. A number of them fell on Astrid as they tried to skitter away. "Gah, they're all over me!" Astrid said, trying to shake them off. "They're...they're...adorable." She couldn't deny it, the little guys were the cutest and fuzziest bugs she'd ever seen. Sadly, most of them did in fact skitter away with very little prompting, and did little more than mess up Astrid's hair. Of the ones that remained, they all gathered around a group of stronger electric types that must have been pretty damn bored to pull something like this off.

That or someone was controlling them, but at the moment it seemed much more like they'd pulled this off on their own, making a titan of fuzz and sparks just for fun. It might have seemed like something too intelligent for a Pokemon to pull off but, then, she had a Metagross. Speaking of which...better to have some extra help now. Astrid threw out Quadraxis's ball, Quadraxis's actual ball, calling out for the Metagross as it appeared. "I set everything up for you already. Get ready to hit everything at once. But first, Lunatic, Magnate, start clearing out the Joltiks. Flamethrower! Hidden Power!" The Clefable and Magnezone set to work on burning away the opposition. Lunatic conjured a mass of fire in her hands, then slung it towards one of the Joltiks in a steady stream. Magnate followed it up with a barrage of glowing orbs, striking the next one. They both fell, but the remaining Pokemon sent back attacks of their own. Two electrically charged webs hit Lunatic, doing little against her reinforced defenses. The larger spider let out a high-pitched hum, hitting Quadraxis for moderate damage. And finally, the big electric cat that was left over started charging power for another attack.

"And, go!" Astrid said. Quadraxis raised its legs and slammed them back to the ground, creating massive tremors over the field. The remaining Joltiks and Galvantula, while not one-shot, took a solid hit from the attack, while the Luxray suffered heavy damage and looked ready to collapse already. Meanwhile, on her side, Lunatic had been hit but only mildly thanks to her buffed defenses, while Magnate floated over it all. Score one for preparation. "Alright, Lunatic, Flamethrower on another of the Joltiks. Magnate, finish that cat off! Tri Attack!" The Clefable picked off the third Joltik with another blast of fire. Meanwhile, Magnate focused energy between its main body and two side pods, and released it in a three-colored blast of energy at the Luxray. It, too, collapsed after the attack, unconscious.

That just left one more Joltik and the Galvantula. Both took their chance to counterattack, with the Joltik going for Lunatic again with a Bug Buzz, and the Galvantula attempting to hit Quadraxis with a surprise attack. "Magnate, intercept!" Astrid called. The Magnezone flew over to Quadraxis, blocking the sudden attack with its solid metal body. "Now, let's finish this off! First, Quadraxis, take down that last Joltik with Zen Headbutt!" The giant four-legged robot was off the moment the command was given, slamming into the Joltik with a psychically-charged headbutt. "Magnate, Hidden Power! Lunatic, Flamethrower!" Another blast of fiery glowing orbs and stream of flame later, and the Galvantula was down as well. Astrid pulled out an empty Academy ball once it fell, and threw it at the downed spider.

So self-centered, thinking yourselves important. Whatever. You won. You even captured two of the ring leaders. Are you happy now? Someone better be.
