Exploring the Ruins [Chris]

C.B. was lost. Utterly lost. She sat down on a fallen pillar with her digital camera slung around her neck, fiddling with her laptop to pass some time. Beside her was Madder, her Psyduck, who was looking at the faded writings.
Not that she cared much though. Usually, she would panic at the thought of not going home (or in this case, the Wave Dorms) in time for dinner, but the ruins and the resident Pokemon had proven themselves an interesting distraction. While archaeology was never her type, her curiosity was piqued by the ruins.
It made her wonder how that particular civilization wind up in a relatively distant island off the coast of Hoenn.

Chris found himself in the ruins yet again with another borrowed book from the Mana dorms library, he was kneeling down somewhat while trying to translate, with Dusk standing alongside him, but with her back to the wall. She was keeping her eyes open for any Pokémon who would be brave enough to try and attack her trainer, which is a respectable role, with Dusk being the strongest out of the group, she always viewed herself as the protector and the peace keeper, so such a role fitted her pretty much perfectly.
"this is certainly interesting... but it hardly makes any sense half the time... there has to be some kind of message here, something important" Chris found himself sighing, although it would be somewhat difficult to hear, finding it rather difficult to decipher any more of the text, some of it at this point he somewhat understood, yet the ordering and the way it was written made no sense what so ever... but it has to make some kind of sense later on, right? Chris found himself sitting back in the shadows while thinking, blending in near perfectly, making it appear as if only Dusk was there... not knowing that another trainer was somewhere in here that could mistake Dusk for a wild Pokémon.

C.B. placed her things back in her bag and stood up with a stretch. "I think we should go now, Madder." She was starting to get hungry anyways. She looked around and under her. "Madder?" The duck was not to be seen. From the corner of her eye, she saw a blotch of yellow. Wait. There he was, waddling away and around a wall.
"Hey, wait!" She chased after him. "Please don't tell me you found another shiny rock. You know they're worth-" She saw a boy (from the Mana Dorms, judging by the color of his uniform) just a few feet away. Near him was a Weavile, presumably his. And of course, Madder was pestering it by staring at its face.
"-less. Oh. Good afternoon." She picked up the Psyduck, who flailed in her arms, then faked a smile. "You lost too?"

Dusk seemed to not be interested in the slightest by the Psyduck, although she kept a wary look in her eyes, sure it's just a duck, but still, better safe than sorry. Dusk was silently getting ready to use a Night slash when the ducks trainer arrived... made sense it belonged to a trainer, the ruins doesn't exactly seem like a place you'd commonly find ducks.
Chris found himself exiting the shadows and turning towards the boy that had apparently spotted and spoken to him. Chris appeared to have a somewhat cold look in his eyes while looking at the duck, but a kinder one when looking at Dusk, which in a way could appear somewhat interesting. "No, I am not lost, since this is by no means the first time I have came here..." Chris spoke, his tone seeming a bit nonchalant in nature, given the current circumstances... he'd came here to be alone, to think and to study, not to be found by a trainer.

Ooh. A quiet one. The Mana student reminded her of herself when she was young. Well, younger. Right down to the "cool" attitude and choice of Pokemon. That was when she was... how old was she back then? She was pretty good at repressing memories, the old School Counselor once said.
Anyways, back to the present. "Not lost, eh? Then perhaps you could give me a tour of the area?" While satisfying her appetite was rather high up her priority list, satisfying her curiosity was even higher, just below taking care of her Pokemon. And the Ruins just whet her appetite for KNOWLEDGE.
Speaking of Pokemon, C.B. let go of her squirming Psyduck and let him stare blankly at the Weavile. "And here we go. Don't go crying to me if she slashes you in the face." She joked at Madder, who gave her an 'I'm-not-that-stupid-look'.

A tour, really, does he look like a tour guide to you? cause in no way, shape or form is he one, plus, why take someone on a tour when you can just tell them where the exit is... going on a tour would contradict the whole reason with Chris being here. "I'm not a tour guide, you'd be better off asking someone else, and you really should keep an eye on your Pokémon, Dusk may be a sensible Weavile but that doesn't mean she won't attack if he provokes her in any way" Chris spoke in a steely calm voice, clearly seeming not to be the type to be social... sure, Seria told him to try, but not right now.
Dusk merely turned towards Chris, nodding, his words were quite accurate, and right now he had come here to be alone, to think on certain... matters... ones he hadn't even shared with Dusk, which is pretty rare.

"Ain'tcha a ray of sunshine." C.B. deadpanned with a raised eyebrow and a small smile on her face. It was how she dealt with everything these days. Just grin and bear with it. "That kind of attitude won't get you anywhere, you know."
"Especially with the ladies." That part, she muttered to herself with a chuckle. She cleared her throat.
"Anyways-" A pause. "Madder?" She looked around her again. Madder was nowhere to be found. Surprise, surprise. "Gott im Himmel, Madder I swear to whatever deity's up there-"
"Psai?" The Psyduck popped out of nowhere, clutching a bunch of wild flowers, the kind his Trainer has never seen before.
"Would you stop wandering off whenever I look away even for a second?" C.B. sighed and pinched the bridge of her nose. "Where did you even get those flowers anyways?" Madder tilted his head, processing her question, then pointed to a bunch of rocks with strange-looking plants growing out of the cracks.
"Interesting. Perhaps next time."
The Psyduck offered the flowers to the Weavile.

Is the duck seriously trying to do what it looks like it's doing... well, guess he's going to learnt he hard way Dusk doesn't fall for that kind of stuff... she doesn't seem to really fall for anything like that, although especially not from a duck... which makes sense, it isn't even in the same egg group, and clearly the two aren't at all compatible, then again Chris can't say much about compatibility, but judging from Dusk's personality and all of that, it was quite easy to tell she isn't the type to fall for someone on her own or with intervention from the other individual or another source.
Dusk merely swatted them away with a Night Slash, shredding the flowers in the process, making it very clear she wasn't interested in the slightest, and her next movements also made it very clear she didn't care about anything like that. She crossed her arms and gave the Psyduck an harsh, piercing glare showing she wasn't interested, and never will be.
"looks like someone got rejected..." Chris chuckled as he watched Dusk's actions, it didn't take a genius to figure out she wasn't interested and that flowers meant pretty much nothing to her.

"Psai."
He didn't get it. They were perfectly good flowers, if a little on the unusual side, so why did She have to do that? He scooped up the least-destroyed of them all, waddled over to his Trainer, and tugged the hem of her trousers. It would be a shame to let them go to waste, after all.
She looked down to Madder. "For me?" Madder nodded. Without as much as a second to waste, she took out a notebook - her Battle Tactics notebook - and pressed them between two blank pages. Then, she looked up at the Her Trainer.
"Anyways, since you're too busy with whatever you're up to, would you at least point out where the exit is?" The Trainer/Science nut asked.

Chris merely sighed and pointed to the path he took to get to this point in the ruins, sure, they are a bit complicated, but that's why Chris hadn't gone far off the beaten track, to avoid getting lost inside of the ruins... never fun, getting lost, unless you end up accidentally finding something incredible in the process, which is possible, but not all that likely when you think about it... anyway, back to trying to work all this out. "Head on through there and just go straight, you'll find the entrance... this section isn't off the beaten track so it should be pretty easy to find" Chris stated, before turning his attention back towards the writing on the wall.
Dusk turned her attention to the wall, clearly not being interested In anything the duck or it's trainer were doing... understandable really when you think about it, she's shown she isn't interested quite a few times now, so in no way, shape or form should this be surprising or hard to work out.

C.B. hmmed and placed her notebook back in her bag while she looked at the well-trodden path the Mana student had pointed. If the path did lead to the entrance/exit to the ruins, that would already be a since she was sure they will be back. "Thanks for the directions." She said to the boy, then nudged her Psyduck. "Well, Madder, looks like we found our ticket out of here." He just sighed wistfully and obliged his Trainer. They slowly walked down the path, the latter taking out a much smaller notebook and a pen, scribbling down about landmarks and observations the duo came across.
