Charmander was weak to water, rock, and ground. The types that Pen is weak against though are covered by Meili’s Horsea. In that same vein, Horsea is weak to grass and electric and Charmander only covers one of those weaknesses. As such Meili decided it would be best to get herself a ground type Pokemon. She has a lot of work to do after all.
Meili already wanted to curse at her luck with her boat being delayed and all. She already missed a class. However, she will continue to work. She's gonna trample on each and every single on of the people in her year...fairly of course. Brutally yes, but sportsmanship in itself was important. She looked around at what the map said was the edge of the academy. This was not far from the Nature dorm, known for the fact that its students use grass, fairy, bug, and ground type. Most of the areas around the Nature dorm area are forests, thus her best bet to find ground pokemon lies here.
"Where to start though." Meili crossed her arms as she sat on a nearby rock to ponder this. Meili took off her hat for a moment to scratch her head before putting it back on again. She began to look around and then eyed the pokeballs attached to her belt. Maybe I should have Pen scout the area...

Meili heard a noise as she sat down on the rock. She quickly got up and reached for Pen's pokeball and looked around. There was nothing there...well...nothing in front of her. Meili shrieked when she felt something poke her lower back. She sprinted a fair distance before turning around to see a snickering...thing...Meili quickly grabbed Pen's pokeball with her right and then took out her Pokedex with her left.
"Pen!" Meili threw the Pokeball to unleash the Charmander. She quickly opened her Pokedex to read the data on blue frog like creature. "Croagunk, Poison and fighting type huh...this one in particular has Dry Skin." Meili began to ponder for a moment. Dry Skin does give this Croagunk an additional weakness to fire...but it gets healed by water moves. However, Meili should be paying attention to the battle because Pen is already punched in the stomach from Croagunk's feint attack and now said Croagunk is laughing...something Meili in particular doesn't appreciate as she adjusted her cap.
"Someone is need for a lesson in discipline..." Meili raised her hand to command. "Pen use Flamethrower!" however before Pen could even open his mouth to launch the attack, the Croagunk sped in front of the lizard and punched him in the face. Meili quickly looked her at her pokedex which identified the attack as Sucker Punch. Pen managed to fire off the torrent of flames which hit Craogunk. It was at that moment that Meili learned that Croagunk really does know about the stop, drop, and roll when dealing with being on fire. Meili took out her academy ball and threw it over at the Craogunk's back as it continued to roll and get rid of the agonizing flames.

Meili's pokeball opened up and contained the Croagunk...for about a second before the Academyball cracked and shattered to pieces. The Croagunk was laughing hysterically at Meili’s failed attempt at a capture only served to make her angrier. She was trying contain her cursing and to be fair to her, it was half working. However, her frustrated only served to entertain the Croagunk.
“Pen use Flamethro-” Pen was once more hit by the Sucker Punch. Meili readied another Academyball as Pen retaliated with another torrent of flames that tormented the Croagunk. “Dragon Rage!” Pen created a sphere of blue flame with his mouth but the blue frog managed to endure through her burns to punch Pen in the face once more. However, Pen managed to turn his head and blasted the Croagunk.
Meili was wondering if the Croagunk was weak enough. Two critical hits and one hit from Dragon Rage. Was that enough? Granted she has four left so her chances are nice but now she has to deal with the fact that this Croagunk is making more than effort to mock her. She was wondering if it was even worth putting up with it…but that Croagunk’s durability and attacks might be an asset in the future.
“This better be worth the trouble!” Meili once more threw the pokeball at the Croagunk. Hopefully it will stay in the ball this time…hopefully.

Meili watched as the ball opened up and contained the blue frog creature. Shake one, shake two, shake three...click. Meili sighed in relief as she walked over to pick up the ball. She checked inside to see the Croagunk tiredly snickering itself to unconsciousness. With a sigh, she attached the pokeball to her belt and then returned Pen. She began to ponder if she should continue exploring.
For one, she is now carrying on her two weakened Pokemon, Pen and her newly acquired Croagunk. She has Ci but Ci is a seahorse...with no ability to move on land at all. Looks like she was heading back. While she got a decently strong Pokemon, she was still short a ground type. Oh well, maybe next time. Meili stretched herself for the long walk back to the dorm.
