These various points of knowledge have been built up from childhood due to her excessive reading and her many years of exploring after graduating from the academy.
Her method of figuring out a situation and the best course of action is somewhat unique, in that, she doesn't exactly think things over. Rather, she just does what comes naturally based on what she knows about the situation. Thankfully, her choices are usually quite appropriate; if not the best option. Though there is always room for a bit of misconception, allowing her to misread what is going on and allow for some degree of error. Nobody is perfect after all. Perhaps the best way to describe her "modus operandi" is that she relies solely on her intuition, her gut, and maybe a little bit of whatever she's feeling at the current time.

However one day while playing outside, her beloved hat was blown away and later taken by a wild Sneasel. Without hesitation she went on a journey to find that hat, on her own. She was only 8 at the time. It was through those mountains that Alouette had begun her first journey. Immediately, she got lost in the forest area and had no idea where she was. As far as she could see, no matter which way she looked, the girl could only see more trees. After an hour or so of wandering through the forest, the girl began to cry. Not only had she lost her hat, but herself as well.
Her crying had brought the attention of several wild Pokemon, including one very large Abomasnow who had somehow come to acquire her hat. Several Pokemon simply watched the crying girl. However the Abomasnow seemed quite angry. Alouette would note a few years later that she had in fact crossed into his territory that night, causing him to become aggressive to her. Without warning, the Abomasnow began to charge at her, dropping her hat in the process. By some amount of luck, and a large amount of bravery, Alouette not only escaped the angry Pokemon but got her hat back as well. Running through the snow as fast as she could, the girl proceeded deeper into the forest.
After escaping the immediate danger, it had set in her mind that it was getting dark. She was getting tired and she was extremely scared. Without a clue of where to go, and as fatigue set in, Alouette nestled herself onto a tree and fell asleep in the middle of the wilderness; fully exposed to the dangers of the wild. It was very likely that the girl wouldn't survive the night given the temperature drop that would soon follow. And if the cold didn't come first, it would be wild Pokemon. Thankfully, a rescue team had already been sent by this time and had found her unharmed with a cold and minor fatigue. Immediately the girl was brought to the hospital to recover. While recovering, she thought about her experience over and over. Each time she thought about it, the girl could only conclude that she was weak. She was vulnerable. Something about that fact set off a spark in the girl's mind. It had been a traumatic experience for her, but it had pushed her forward.
Following her recovery, the girl immediately decided to set out on another adventure of all things. Though this time, she would be doing it willingly. Her idea was that in order to become stronger, she would put herself in danger to learn. She wanted to be able to handle any situation that may arise. It was at this point that her life took a drastic turn. The very day she was released from the hospital, the girl packed herself some food, grabbed some survival supplies and a backpack, and went out on her new journey. From there on, the rest was history.
At a very young age, she became able to navigate the mountains like they were a second home. Harsh wind and snow had no effect on her and was able to handle snowstorms with no problems. She learned to fend off wild Pokemon through various methods she learned over the years. She knew each and every Pokemon to be found, and how each of them operated. There was no wild Pokemon in those mountains that could outsmart her, or take her down. She even picked up a large quantity of cooking skill from her cooking preparations she made before each journey. No longer was she a directionless girl who saw the world in a dull light.
It was at the age of 12 that she finally decided to further her goals. Out of admiration for the Pokemon's strength, and for a desire to make herself even stronger, she decided her goal would be to raise them to their full potential along with herself. Her parents, knowing their daughter was so smart decided that she should have the best education possible. Thus, they suggested that she attend Falling Star Academy which is known for its prestige. Alouette herself believes that she can learn everything on her own, but knowing the Academy was made to facilitate growth, she gladly decided to attend.
During her time at the academy, Ally quickly made a name for herself as a proficient Pokemon battler and explorer. She gathered a team of Pokemon friends which she used to take the academy by storm whether it be on the battlefield or in her classes. More importantly, the girl grew emotionally in a number of ways. She learned to rely on the help of others, to make friends, to be social, as well as what love was. Aside from her emotional and battle accomplishments, the girl went on to map out the island herself as well as take up sword fighting before graduating.
Following her graduation, the girl fulfilled her promise to her best friend and lover of exploring the world together after graduating. They flew through the skies, surfed over unfamiliar waters, trekked towering mountains, explored deep caverns, and made sure to treasure every moment. And, of course, she made sure to map every bit of it too. They battled other trainers, met and helped people along the way, and saw spectacular sights. And together, the two of them grew in a number of ways. Unfortunately, that didn't include the physical department all that much for Ally.(Well, not in height anyway. She developed quite well, thankfully.) The same couldn't exactly be said for her partner; the girl who was once almost a foot shorter than her now stood nearly a foot taller, much to her dismay. Many things changed over the years as they travelled together, even their relationship in some regards. Just as Alouette had begun to get used to her travelling life-style, her and her partner were presented with the opportunity to come back to the academy as wardens of their old dorm. Seeing nothing wrong with a change of pace, the young woman decided to take up the position and make a return to the academy for yet another story arc in her life.
