Tristan found himself in what appeared to be a power plant of some sort. Lightning rods were everywhere. He figured that he'd most likely be finding some sort of Electric Pokemon. He couldn't wait. His first wild Pokemon since coming to the island academy. It was likely going to be something that he'd remember forever.
He checked his items. He had some Pokeballs, some potions, a couple revives... He even grabbed his map and Pokedex. Checking his map of the island, he found that the area was called the Blissfury Plains. Seems like as good a place as any to catch something, he thought to himself.
He readied his Pokemon and started looking around.

When Tristan came across a Pokemon finally, he wasn't expecting it to be a bird. In a place that was almost entirely Electric themed, the Pokemon was certainly out of place. I suppose it's not that weird, he thought to himself. After all, it's not like it's flying around.
Still, while it was probably a good Pokemon, Tristan knew he could likely find something better. So, before the bird noticed him, he walked off. He didn't want to just leave the bird there, but he knew he could come across something better.
He started walking around again in hopes that he could find a different Pokemon.

While the first Pokemon he had encountered wasn't exactly what he had hoped for, Tristan was ecstatic when he saw the second one. A metal bird, the Pokemon seemed slightly more at home in the area somehow. Tristan decided he would go after this Pokemon. He opened up his Pokedex and scanned the bird. Apparently, it's a "Skarmory.' That's pretty cool, I guess.
He threw a Pokeball and released Gastly. The ghost-type seemed to be happy to be out of the pokeball. With a smile, Tristan spoke to it. "Gastly. Use hypnosis. We're gonna try to catch this guy, okay?" The pokemon seemed willing enough to comply, but its attempt to put the Skarmory to sleep didn't work. The wild pokemon responded by throwing some spikes underneath Gastly.
Tristan looked at the spikes, then up at Gastly. "This shouldn't be too hard, buddy," he said to his starter. "Use another Hypnosis!" Gastly looked Skarmory in the eyes and the bird fell asleep. Tristan didn't want to know what was in his Pokemon's gaze.
"Okay, Gastly, use Hex now!" The pokemon listened to Tristan and the Skarmory writhed in its sleep. It still continued to sleep, though. This prompted Tristan to throw a pokeball at it. The Skarmory tried to resist a little, if Tristan knew anything about catching pokemon, but it resigned to its fate.
Tristan had a new member on his team.

Fortunately, the situation isn't this bad.
You caught the Skarmory! Remember to add it to your PC and to reduce your total ball count by 1.
