Hiyori Nagase was born in a normal family.She was the one and only daughter of the Nagase family so she was treated very special.Hiyori likes music when she was 5 years old her father trained her how to play piano because his father was a musician so he is a suitable teacher for Hiyori.She became great at it but she develops an interest at Pokemons afterwards and hides her talent from playing piano because she thought that she might humiliated since all kids' interest are training and catching pokemon.Since she was very young and she is not licensed to catch a pokemon yet, she became an Apprentice Caretaker at a Daycare where her mother works.
In the daycare, she learned a lot about pokemons like what they want,how they act,and where they live specifically making her more inspired to be a full-pledged Pokemon Trainer that is the time when she discovered Harmonia Island on a brochure and within it is the academy of her dreams "Gray Garden Academy".She wanted to but her parents disagrees since it was very far and the expenses for travel are too heavy for their pockets but Hiyori convinced them and finally agrees.Hiyori's parent said that she must gather money and must be old enough to live on her own in Gray Garden Academy to go to Harmonia Island.She then really gathered money by working in the daycare and waited until she turned into 15.Hiyori's parents are sad but they both thought that it will make their daughter happy so they gave Hiyori a pokemon before she left to go to Harmonia Island.
