So. This was the forest. It was one of the first things Nia's parents mentioned to her about the dorm they had signed her up in. Apparently it was a great place to catch some pokemon and to start one's journey to be the best that there ever was in the academy or something. Eh, who cared, the place seemed to be perfect for some painting alone.
And with this strain of thought, Nia made her way towards the center of the forest, Kristoff carrying the basic drawing set for her with his psychic powers. Her eyes darted from side to side, as if trying to spot any deadly ninja's in the trees. Alas, there were none.

Alas, there wasn't a ninja in the trees, no no. Instead there was a pair of rippling muscles, just waiting for someone to adore them. Making its way out from behind a large tree trunk was a rather masculine Lucario, that happened to be female. As it emerged from behind the tree it appeared to be flexing, and giving Nia a wiggle of its eyebrows, as if to say "These could be yours." Honestly, this Lucario was probably going to do something strange, that is if its trainer didn't come out from the near by foliage.
Emerging in a not so majestic manner was a golden haired boy riding a Girafarig, who appeared to be running at a rapid pace. The horse like Pokemon ran right past the Lucario, and as it ran right past James gave his Lucario a good smack. It was acting odd again, probably going to scare whoever it wanted to show its muscles to. It was really creepy, or so James thought. His Lucario always wanted to show her muscles off to strangers, and even him sometimes. He sometimes questions what it would do if he didn't put it in its Pokeball. But that didn't matter now, all that mattered was that he was suddenly, falling? It appeared as if his Girafarig still wasn't very fond of him riding him, which ended with him being tossed to the ground.
Just great, and oh look, it did it right in front of a girl, nice Girafarig, just nice. "Uhh, I really need to think things through." He said, as he stood up with various grumbles. Now rubbing his head he looked directly at the girl, noticing some missing features of sorts, along with her Pokemon. It probably wasn't very good to stare at her uh, missing arms very long, so he simply moved his attention hastily to her face. "Heyyy, how ya doing?" He said, trying to act as if nothing happened, which didn't really change anything. A few feet behind him was his Lucario now, still flexing her glorious muscles while the Girafarig could be seen laying down in the grass.

Nia tilted her head almost enough to crack her back at the whole situation. First a Lucario, apparently female, was trying to hit on her? Or just show off it's muscles. And then a boy riding a horse or something. Wait, not a horse, a girafarig. And then he did what everyone did usually when people met her. Stared at her hands for a split second before staring at her face.
She finally corrected her head as she shrugged her shoulders. "Eh. I'm fine." She stroked her head against her shoulder for a while to get rid of the itch she had gained while watching this strange show. "I'm about to paint." She smiled rather sweetly and nodded.

Huh, so she was about to paint, guess that was pretty obvious with the Ralts carrying some basic art supplies. That was pretty cool, someone coming all the way out here to draw. Maybe this girl was a good artist to have come out here to draw? Heck, no one would come out here to draw, or paint, if they sucked at it. "Cool cool, so uhh, what you planning to draw?" He said, not quite sure what to say in this scenario. But now that he thought about things, how would she draw? She didn't have no arms, which meant she couldn't do the regular old artistic stuff. But maybe she had something that she could attach to her arm to help her? Who knows, this whole scenario was confusing, but he didn't try to let that show, so he simply smiled.

"I thought about it. Maybe trees." She shrugged. "Good thing about trees is that they don't run away when you try to draw them." She smirked at her own "joke" as she wobbled over to sit and lean against a rather large tree. Kristoff the ralts placed down the drawing tools, moving over to sit next to his trainer. "Right, hmm..." Her eyes moved from tree to tree before locking eyes with a rather thin one.
She then wrinkled her toes (she had no shoes and no socks on) before moving her feet to grab a rather large pen, pulling the blank notebook to her as she then let it rest close to her. She then slowly begun to draw out the outlines of the tree with her feet.

So, from the sounds of things she came here without a very good idea as to what she would draw. But maybe that's what all artists did, considering how he wasn't very good at art he wouldn't know. Off like that now, off the girl went as to start drawing now while James was simply thinking. Well, now clearly wasn't the time to think, now was the time to follow the girl, and he followed her all the way to what looked to be a rather large tree. Simply saying nothing he watched as her eyes moved from tree to tree, until locking onto what looked like the runt of the litter.
Well, now he got to see how the girl painted, and boy was he ever surprised. From the looks of things she was going to paint with her feet, was she real? Yep, she was real. He simply watched as she began to draw the tree, which was an interesting sight. Should he ask for her name, and disturb her drawing? Or should he simply watch, or maybe he should return his Lucario who was now sneaking towards the small tree, all while flexing. Nah, he would just watch, and just leave his Lucario there and see how things happened. She didn't seem like a girl that would care too much about a little joke.

She begun to hum to herself as she painted. Everything around her dissolved into nothingness until there was only her feet, the notebook and the tree. She had to figure out everything about this tree. How it grew, would it grow to be larger. Everything, and in her mind, she figured out everything as he tree she was drawing slowly came into being as a basic sketch. She then begun to slowly but surely do some broader strokes. Branches, maybe?
She never lifted her head from her art as she spoke. "Your name." She nodded to herself as she continued to draw. It seems like she expected an answer, maybe some more questions.

Well, from the looks of things this girl's concentration was centred on the tree, which was probably a good thing for artists. In fact that was a good thing for himself when he actually tried to do something artistic, not having someone talking. But, from the looks of things, she wanted to hit up a conversation maybe? Or she just wanted to know his name from the little question she had asked. "Huh? Oh, my names James Wharton. And your's?" He asked, as to be polite, and as to know who he was talking with. Currently everything appeared to be going well, that is until he noticed his Lucario inching closer and closer to the tree, all while flexing her magnificent muscles.
James simply glared at his Lucario, which made it stop somewhat dead in its tracks. It didn't go closer, but it didn't move away. Now, now it simply began to flex its majestic muscles as to show off to the newcomer. This was honestly very creepy, as it was something a normal Pokemon shouldn't be doing. But then again, his Lucario wasn't very normal. Maybe it would be good to have it train with the gym teacher's Pokemon before class started, since it liked to flex and show off its muscles so much.

"Nia Mckeilleigh." She simply nodded once more, continuing to sketch out the drawing both in her mind and onto the paper until the whole of the trunk along with it's branches were in basic states and ready to be colored and detailed. Her eyes lifted up from the drawing to the tree, her eyebrows furrowing for a moment before returning to drawing, seemingly focusing on first finishing up the parts of the tree that the Lucario so rudely covered up, seemingly straight out from her memory.
"Do you draw." She asked another simpler one. Might as well keep the conversation fast but still with substance. "Sit down."

Does he draw? Well, that was a simple question, but first he sat down as Nia said. He drew, doesn't mean he drew well, but he drew. Back in Lumios he had taken some drawing lessons, although he didn't quite excel on those, or rather he didn't finish drawings at a fast pace. Heck, that was mainly because of what he did. He was paired at a table with some other students, and during art classes they just talked and talked and talked. The classes usually took place on Saturday afternoon, which didn't help much either. But now he was thinking too much about the past, and had to think about the present. "Yah I draw sometimes, not very good." He said, perfectly aware that be probably wouldn't be able to draw the same types of pieces he had drawn in art class he had taken back home.

"Kristoff." The ralts looked up to his trainer, seemingly trying to figure out what she wanted before nodding, using his mind to rip a page off of the notebook, sending it over to the boy along with a pen. "Draw." She nodded once more. "If you want to, that is." And then she returned to immerse herself into her work. Thankfully she managed to finish the detailing in the area's the lucario covered without that many hiccups. Now she could look back at the tree without being distracted, and that she did, beginning to slowly detail the other parts of the three.

Oh god oh god, she wanted him to draw, and he basically sucked at drawing mose of the time. The only good drawings he made, which turned out quite well, were in his art class with guidance. But now, now he had to draw something, and he had no clue what to draw. The only thing he could think of was some small cartoonish drawing, which he'd watched a tutorial on. He had watched it for what felt like ages ago, and it would probably turn out, bad. But it was worth a shot to try, so he simply began by drawing a circle, while being careful as to make sure it made the right shape. Then came some lines across the face, which he believed were for centring things? Honestly he was just following the steps the tutorial had done, or at least tried to do the steps he remembered. It took a few minutes to do, and it looked absolutely horrible. Honestly, from what he remembered he could at least make it look decent. But this, this was something he wanted to burn, and not let Nia see. It was truly amazing how horribly he'd failed. Next time he should probably watch the tutorial before trying to draw it.

Nia continued humming to herself as she continued drawing. The tree was mostly done. Now for the leaves. She continued her drawing in total silence, wondering on what shading she should use for the leaves. She decided to just go with light shadows all around. After finishing that, she pulled her leg back from the drawing as she tilted her head at it for a moment, pondering before nodding to herself and smiling. "I'd call that complete."
She then turned her head to James, looking down at his sketch. "Hm. Not as bad as I thought." After a while of silence, she grew a smirk and moved herself next to the boy. "Right, what're you exactly trying to draw?"

What exactly was he trying to draw? He was trying to draw who knows what from his memory. It was suppose to be a face, but it was god awful. He simply flipped the paper while his face grew red. "Err, something from memory. And that memory was from long, long ago." He said, before pausing for a moment. "Which might be easy to tell, along with how bad I can be at art." He said, not intending to flip the page over again. Honestly, why did he try to draw? If only he had the same concentration he sometimes had in his art classes, along with the guidance. Then maybe, just maybe, he wouldn't such so much.

She patted his shoulder with her stump. "Hey, everyone has rocky beginnings." She nodded sagely at this before crawling over until she was facing James. "Try to draw my face." She nodded once more as she then begun to rest her head against her lifted knees. Kristoff followed along, slumping to lay down next to his trainer. "Just try to first focus on the shape of the face, draw basic sketches of that, and THEN try to get into major details."
After giving her basic guidance, she continued to rest her head on her knees, her eyes moving around randomly. There was still the Lucario flexing. Wonder what was up with that.
