Ginny had mixed emotions going into the battle. She didn't really have that diverse of a team. She had two water types, a grass type, flying with a secondary dark and a pure dark type. And she had the Numel that she had caught to handle the grass types that Vivi has. But she wasn't sure if she had gotten any others besides her Budew. Stepping into the arena where she and Vivienne had agreed to hold the battle. She would had been OK with another place but this would do. Ginny registered her Pokémon that she was going to use in this three on three battle. Walking onto the field there was no one in the stands. This was good because Ginny didn't think she could perform with a crowd. Stepping up into the box on her side of the field her name and information appeared on the screen. She looked at her cell phone to see what time it was. It was about thirty minutes before the match was scheduled. She liked being really early. {Spoiler} Starter 1: Chespin Type: Grass Nickname: Chester Gender: Male Ability: Overgrowth Moves: Bite, Seed Bomb, Take Down, Wood Hammer Piplup Type: Water Nickname: Thadeus Gender: Male Ability: Torrent Moves: Hydro Pump, Drill Peck, Bubble Beam, Whirlpool Numel Type: Fire/Ground Nickname: Steven Gender: Male Ability: Simple Moves: Earthquake, Flamethrower, Double-Edge, Curse

Fifteen minutes later...
Vivienne had thought she was showing up early, but as she entered the battlefield she and Ginny had been assigned, she was a little surprised to see the other girl already in her designated area. She waved lightly, before going over to the terminal and registering three Pokeballs. Using the freshly evolved Marmalade could throw her opponents game off most likely, but she had other plans in mind. Licorice was out for obvious reasons, and using Mille-Feuille on the other girl would be cruel and unusual. Nope. If she was going to be battling infront of God knows who over the monitor system in the commons, why not start building her reputation a little early?
It was odd; her heart was racing. For all of the practice they'd been doing in order to get ready, for all of the catching she'd accomplished in such a short time...this was going to be the first time she pit her team against another trainer's. It was surreal.
"Uh....hey Ginny. You ready?" She called, her first Pokeball in hand. {Spoiler}{Team} Praline, the Female Flabebe Flower Veil Normal Moves: Moonblast, Petal Dance, Misty Terrain, Wish Extra Moves: Calm Mind, Psychic a la Mode, the Male Swirlix Sweet Veil Normal Moves: Draining Kiss, Energy Ball, Cotton Spore, Play Rough Extra Moves: Flamethrower, Calm Mind Macaron, the Male Mawile Intimidate Normal Moves: Play Rough, Baton Pass, Iron Head, Sucker Punch Extra Moves: Fire Fang, Power-Up Punch

She only had to wait for another fifteen minutes. It wasn't uncommon for Ginny to have to wait for people so she didn't mind at all. She gave a half hearted wave to Vivi. She liked the younger girl, she wasnt Ginnys type. Though she was also too young for her too. She hadn't talked to anyone else beside the girl in the clothing store, Alice. She was was cool. Her mind wondered then wondered back to the moment. She was about to start her first battle against another person. She looked across the field at her dorm mate, and smiled. "Ready as I'll ever be." She said as she pulled her first ball out and hit the button. Ginny gave it a toss and spoke. "Let's give it our best Steven." When the ball opened a Numel appeared and was now standing on her side of the arena. She wondered who Vivi was going to throw out first. The only two she knew of was her Flabebe and Budew.

Vivienne nodded at the other girl's reply, watching as she released a numel. Checking her Pokedex quickly, she tweaked an eyebrow slightly. A fire and ground type? That was going to make this interesting. Fire types resisted the majority of her strongest Fairy moves, after all. Still, she figured sooner or later she was going to run afoul of one or two. Better to get the practice in now rather than later, right?
"Well, you wanted to see her earlier, right? Let's give them a show Praline!" Vivienne called, releasing her Flabebe into the battlefield. The fairy flower Pokemon drifted forward, her eyes sharp.
"Start it off with a Wish." Vivienne called, her Flabebe blowing a kiss to the sky. Beyond that though, the move didn't seem to have any effect.

Watching the other girl throw out Flabebe. She thought it was adorable but she she also knew that the fairy was going to be tricky to take down. Watching the flower float high into the air and basically do nothing. Ginny was confused at what had just happened. But nonetheless this was going to be a good match up. She could go one of two ways. She could do a flamethrower and hopefully get a burn on the Flabebe or go with a earthquake for a bigger hit. Thinking a for a few moments she finally said a command. "Give her a good Earthquake." The Numel slowly raised his front feet and stomped the ground making it shake violently.

The ground tore across the battlefield, and even if the Flabebe moved by floating, she was still slammed by the heaving earth. Vivienne bit her lip, watching Praline float back in, obviously injured. Even if she left her in, there was no way to know if the Flabebe could survive another hit of the Earthquake, let alone any other attack the Numel was liable to dish out. This was harder than she'd thought. Moonblast wasn't going to do much against a fire type, and Misty Terrain was a lost cause by then. If she was going to gamble, she was going to need to do it with a bigger hit than that.
"Use Psychic!" Vivienne called, her Flabebe's eyes glowing blue as it released a strong blast of telekinetic force straight at the Numel.

The Flabebe was hit hard by the Earthquake. She was feeling bad for the little thing but she was there to win. And the Numel was proving to he better than she thought it was going to do. After the flower recovered from the hit it launched a Psychic attack at the moppy looking Pokémon. It was a direct it and the secondary effect didn't kick in. It would've lowered it more han normal because of his Ability Simple. It didn't take much out of the Numel but it did hit him. Taking a deep breath she spoke. "I feel bad for the little girl. Steven finish it with another Earthquake " Steven repeated the same movement as before. This time the ground broke apart more.

Flabebe weren't exactly defensive walls when it came to physical attacks, so as the earth tore underneath Praline she was launched back, unconscious. Vivienne pulled out her Pokeball, returning the fainted fairy type. Would it have been better to go right on the offensive from the get go then? The Wish had been wasted. Maybe she had used it too soon in the battle? The Numel didn't seem to be phased very much by the Psychic attack. If only she'd been able to use a water type move of some sort.
Coulda, woulda, shoulda, right? Vivienne had come in hoping to see the girl deploy her Vullaby and Chespin, which most of her Pokemon could resist or counter. The addition of a Fire and Ground type made the field simply too dangerous to deploy Macaron just yet. Glancing up at the recording device, a dark thought crossed the back of Vivienne's mind. She'd taken into account what it would mean if she won, and if she lost in front of whoever was watching.
"Come on out, a la Mode!" She called, releasing the Swirlix from his Pokeball. He landed on the torn up battlefield, his tongue sticking out as always. "Let's use Energy Ball!"
The Swirlix's mouth opened up, a glittering green orb forming and then firing at the little camel Pokemon. Numel's typing meant it would only take neutral damage, but there was always the possibility that it would lower the Numel's Special Defense when it hit.

Ginny watched has the Flabebe went down. She didn't know it was going to be this easy. But when she brought out her Swirlix she got worries. Not too worried because she still had the type advantage. Ginny knew that couple more hits and Steven was going to be done for. But she had two other pokemon. Almost immediately the little puff ball launched the greenball of energy at the Numel upon Vivi's command. Ginny winced at the attack hit, it was not so powerful hut itdid trigger the secondary effect. Stevens special defence did go down. And with the Simple ability it went down two stages instead of just one. Steven recovered from the attack and was ready. "Its work well so far. Earthquake." The Numel stomped the ground and it broke apart even more.
Action: Numel used Earthquake.

When the attack landed, Vivienne watched the Numel and a small smile played on her lips. As long as she took that thing down, it was worth taking another Earthquake. The battlefield was torn apart by the third Earthquake, and the Swirlix was forced back. a la Mode was bulkier than Praline, sure, but that didn't change the fact that Ginny was using one of the strongest ground type moves a Pokemon could learn. Still, between the accrued damage from what it had taken and the secondary defense drop she'd put it through...
"Give him a taste of your Energy Ball again a la Mode!" Vivienne called. If Ginny wanted to just keep trading the most effective attacks in each Pokemon's arsenal, so be it. The ball of green energy was launched at the Numel again, and with his reduced special defenses was going to hurt. A lot worse than it had before.

It was the end of the Stevens run. He had taken out Vivi's Flabebe and did some damage to her Swirlix but was it enough to have Thadeus or Chester finish it off. Only time will tell, and it was kind of risky to bring out Thadeus. He still didn't listen to her much and that could cost her the match. After the Energy Ball took out Steven the Numel she let out a sigh. "Great job, we'll get him next time" She thought for a moment. She could use Thadeus, though he coulduse a move that she didn't want him too. She thought she'd risk it. Reaching grabbing the Piplup pokeball she threw it. "Alright Thadeus, let finish him off with a Hydro Pump" She thought if she gave the command he would do the right move. It looked like it worked, the tiny penguin shot a huge jet of water toward the Swirlix.

The accursed Numel finally down for the count, Vivienne bit the side of her lip as Ginny called out another Pokemon; the Piplup was cuter than Numel, sure, but when she called the attack the Kalosian sighed internally. Earthquake followed up by Hydro Pump? The fact that Ginny had access to some of the strongest moves known to Pokemon at such young stages meant she was either lucky in her catching or a better trainer than Vivienne initially took her for.
Of course, she might want to work on that Piplup's aim. The Hydro Pump, while powerful, went wide, not even touching the Swirlix. Vivienne had options. Draining Kiss wasn't exactly the most powerful attack in the Fairy arsenal of moves, but it restored a lot more health than even a Giga Drain or Drain Punch did by comparison. That said, she also had a much more obvious option.
"Why don't you give that Piplup an Energy Ball a la Mode?" Vivienne suggested to the Swirlix, who complied by firing one of it's green energy blasts at the Penguin.

The Hydro Pump went wide and the Piplup suffered the miss with a devastating hit with an Energy Ball. Ginny wanted to run out and see if the Piplup was OK. It spung and wavered a little. It was a tough little guy and she knew that it had a lot of fight in him. But it wasn't going to withstand another hit from that Energy Ball. And luckily the special defence didn't go down on the secondary didn't take effect. It would've mattered anyway. Thadeus wasn't going to survive another hit. Tacking a deep breath she was going to call out another attack but the Piplup went for another Hydro Pump. Luckily that was going to be the move she wanted him to use. She bite her lip and closed her eyes until it was over.

Vivienne watched the geyser strike her little Swirlix and send him flying backwards, slamming into a wall before the waters slowed down. He didn't have the strength to stand after the hit. "You were excellent a la Mode." She called, returning him to his Pokeball. She only had one Pokemon left, and though she would've liked to save him for the final round, it looked like Macaron was going to need to pull his weight a little earlier than planned.
"Come on out, Macaron!" She yelled, releasing her final Pokemon. The moment the Mawile popped out of his Pokeball, he swung himself around. His horns, forming a semi-functional second mouth, snapped menacingly at the Piplup. Only Pokemon with certain abilities would be able to resist the effects of Intimidate, and Piplup didn't possess those.
The hit from Energy Ball had done a fair bit of damage, judging by the way the Piplup staggered before blasting the Swirlix. She needed another hit just as strong to possibly knock it out before it got another Hydro Pump off.
"Let's Play Rough, shall we?" Vivienne said, a smile forming on her lips for the first time since the battle began.
The Mawile was surrounded by sparkling pink and blue energy as he skipped forward; at the last second, he made a patty-cake motion aimed for the Piplup. It looked innocent enough, but Vivienne knew exactly how...explosive getting hit or slammed by a Play Rough could be.

After Ginny had a good idea that the event was over she opened her eyes. It had it this time and the white puff ball was being recalled. That was two down and one to go, she had a feeling that she had this battle won. But she still had to get through one last Pokémon. Was it going to be the Budew or was she going throw another new one out like she did with the Swirlix. Just a few seconds later Vivi threw a ball out and a Mawile appeared. It turned around and intimidated Thadeus. He attack fell, but the main attack was special based. So it didn't matter one bit, it didnt matter either if he was hit with another attack.
After the ability took effect the Mawile was given the command to Play Rough with Thadeus. Ginny didnt like the idea of that. After the game of patth cake Thadeus was out for the count. Ginny gave a sigh of some frustration. But she just thought that it was good experience for her and her team. "You were awesome Thadeus" Ginnifer said recalling the tiny penguin. "Here goes nothing. Let's go Chester" She threw the Chespin ball and he bounded out and looked excited to be there. She knew that this battle was nearly over and her chances of winningwas very slim. "Alright Chester, give him a good Wood Hammer" Yeah he was going to get hit by the recoil but it was the best move he had. The chipmunks hands turned green and he leaped toward the Mawile.
Action: Piplup fainted; Sent out Chespin, used Wood Hammer: Base Attack 61, Attack Power 120+STAB @100% accuracy. But takes one-third damage on recoil.
