Dragonic Fate: Part 2 [Battle vs. Alice]

It had been a couple day since he had made a fool of himself and made the battle with Alice. Aki did have a crush on her and this was the only way he figured he could get a date with her. But after she had basically made it either way the battle went he was going to get the date. Walking into the Battle Dome in the Commons of the school he registered his team that he was going to use. He had thought about this for the last two days. Also he thought about Alice, he couldn't stop thinking about her. Today he wasn't were his school jacket, he was were the white shirt that had its sleeves rolled up to show his muscular arms. His tie was loosened slightly and the top button was undone. He was ready for a battle. Waiting for his opponent he had time to think of what she was going to be using. He knew most of her Pokémon. Though she was saying that she needed to train base level Pokémon. That's what he was there for as well.

Time did seem to fly by as the battle itself that she had agreed to take part in was approaching fast. And the Mana Dorm student did have a general idea of what Pokemon she had to use. With careful strategy, this would make it easier to actually figure out what balanced team she was going to use herself. The Sigilyph floated next to her as she was genuinely concerned about the well-being of her trainer. The female Mana Dormer assured Lucia that she was okay and that the avian totem should probably worry about something else. She was not wearing her usual school uniform, but rather a black sweater, purple scarf, and beige slacks. Once she arrived at the arena, her opponent was there and she could tell that he had been planning that for some point in time. The avian totem stood guard at where the seats were, silently watching her trainer. And the female student herself waited for some kind of response from the young man.

Aki heard the door open on the other side of the field. Looking up he saw Alice enter with a Pokémon he had never seen before. He pulled his pokedex out and scanned it. It was a Sigilyph, Psychic/Flying, he thought of the pokemon he was going to use and he had something to counter it. But when it went into the stands he sighed, he new single stage Pokémon are usually more powerful than ones that evolve. Aki gave Alice a smile before he spoke, he had actually combed his hair for once. "Hello Alice, and how are you this fine day?" He said with his Kalosian accent. After greeting her he reached and grabbed a pokeball and hit the bottom. Holding out hitting the button again releasing his first Pokemon. The shiny Nosepass fell to the ground with a thud. "Alright Missy, got a lot riding on this match" He told his Golden Nosepass.

“I’m good, actually. I hope you have been well too.” And then, Aki had sent out a shiny Nosepass which was golden…all over except for its nose. From what she knew about it, it was a Pokemon native to Hoenn and shinies were a bit rare to encounter in the wild. Still, she needed something to counter it and that answer was a Steel type. However, the Nosepass might have some move to counter it and she was smart to conserve Pokeon that would have a type advantage against other Pokemon. After some thought, she had chosen who she wanted to contend with in this battle as she believed the gassy ghost might have some kind of advantage. ”Morticia, take the stage.” With a click of the Academy Ball, the gassy ghost was sent out, laughing at her opponent and just floating there. She could tell that the ghost was determined to make up for her humiliating loss in the first round.

Aki nodded as she hoped he was doing well. He was doing quite well, but that was before she threw her Gastly out agaisnt his Nosepass. There was only one move that she knew and it would be risky. It cost him the tournament, but he had no choice and switching out would waist a turn. It was a risk he had to take, and the chance of hitting the Gastly was not good. "Missy, hit the Gastly with a Rock Slide" Aki called out to the stone idol. The Pokémon might not be the fastest Pokémon but it has some of the highest physical defence that any Pokémon he had besides his Doublade.

The shiny Nosepass made the first move by somehow summoning a waterfall of rocks on the small gassy ghost which managed to make the ghost frown for a few minutes. Well, considering that her defenses were not that good, she might’ve been knocked out, but instead she hung on. Fortunately, the ghost did not flinch which was good. And the ghost smiled maliciously as she waited for her trainer’s orders. “Morticia, dazzle our two spectators with a Shadow Ball!” The gassy ghost formed a shadowy orb and fired it at the golden Nosepass. For the next tournament, she had to be careful of her Gastly’s pitiful defenses as any Dark attack could easily defeat her. Especially that Sucker Punch from that Croagunk, that wasn’t a good thing to look forward to. And this could be good practice for contest battles in case that appeal was involved.

Action: Morticia the Gastly used Shadow Ball.

As the rocks hit the Gastly, Aki got a small smile on his face. It would've been better if it would've gotten the flinch but he'll take the hit. Watching the ghost recover from the hit he looked on waiting for the first attack from Alice and her Gastly. He had hoped the flinch would've happened. He was pretty sure the next hit from the Nosepass would put the Ghost/Poison type down. Sighing as Alice gave the gassy ghost a command to use Shadow Ball. It also has a chance of lowering the special defense of Missy. Watching as the black ball of energy flies toward Missy all Aki could do was watch. The ball hit the idol head and made her slide back a couple feet. When the ball disappeared the Nosepass was still standing, and the it appeared the stat lowering effect didn't take effect. "Alright girl, let see if we can't finish this round off. Another Rock Slide" Akihito called out to his Pokémon and she started to move to attack.

Unfortunately, that Rock Slide pretty much showed that even Morticia’s defenses wouldn’t help her win this round. The ghost drifted slowly down to the ground and there were spirals in her eyes. “Good job, Morticia. Get some rest.” She returned the small gassy ghost back into her Pokeball and pulled out her another Academy Ball containing her Aron. So much for actually conserving the useful Pokemon for exploiting weaknesses, but Tidus’s typing might help a little. “Tidus, it’s show time!” With a click, the Aron was released outside on the battlefield and had felt a sense of avenging his fallen friend. Meanwile, the Sigilyph was watching the whole battle unfold and just looked on silently. “Tidus, let’s start with a Metal Claw!” The Aron charged forward and scratched at the Nosepass with his glowing white front leg. Rock types were definitely the hardest to take down due to their high defenses and good attack.

Action: Morticia fainted. Sent out Tidus the Aron. Tidus used Metal Claw.

The Rock Slide did its job, but he would have to sorry about her next Pokémon. Watching her recall the ghost, Aki was shocked at what she brought out next. It was an Aron, they were both effective and ineffective against Rock types. Aki knew exactly what move to use on the little Pokémon. But first Missy would have to survive the attack of the new opponent. Alice gave a command to the Aron and it leaped at Missy with a glowing claw. He knew if this hit Missy would be in very bad shape but the next move he had in mind would one shot the Aron. The attack hit and Missy was barely hanging in, he could do another move but that would mean she would be open to attacks. Aki just thought he'd go for it. "Alright Missy. I know you're weak. Give that Aron a taste of your Earth Power" The Nosepass life's her arms and shot a beam of light at her opponent.

Fortunately, the Metal Claw managed to have the Nosepass stagger as if she were actually starting to fall unconscious. Howener, the bad news was that Earth Power managed to defeat the Aron in one hit, making it nearly impossible to defeat a Nosepass without a good Steel type. When Tidus woke up from his unconscious state, he looked down and hung his head sadly. “It’s okay. You did your best. Now, let’s give you a rest.” With that, she returned him back inside and pulled out the last Academy Ball containing the Dratini she had hatched a couple of weeks ago. “Take the stage, Yuna. This will be the grand finale.” With one click, the serpentine dragon was released outside and looked at the shiny Nosepass. The little one had not done any battling before, but she was willing to do her best in that regard. ”Let’s give this Nosepass a taste of your rage. Use Outrage!” Immediately, the blue serpentine dragon began to glow red as she started her rampage on the Nosepass. It was the only powerful move that the dragon had on disposal, but this could continue for some turns.

Action: Aron fainted. Sent out Yuna the Dratini. Yuna used Outrage.

Aki looked on as his attack hit the Aron and knocked it out. After how well it's done for him since he caught it he doesn't regret catching it. He mainly caught it because it was shiny, not because she was a good pokemon. He was kinda feeling back for Alice, she had worked so hard to get her pokemon this far and he just wiped two of them out with one pokemon. As she brought out her Dratini, Yuna. He took a step back, but not out of the box he was supposed to stay in. He was kind of getting better over the Dratini but give him a Seviper or Ekens, he'll just flip and go catatonic. He looked up and heard Alice tell her Dratini to use Outrage. That was a powerful move with a huge downside to it. Watching kt thrash Missy making her faint he returned her to her ball.

"Très magnifique Missy, you deserve a long rest" Akihito pulled out he next pokeball and then hesitated. He could end the battle soon but he though he would give his Tyrunt a chance. He traded out the pokeballs and held out the ball clicking the button twice. "Show her what you've got Rex." The tinyTyrunt landed on the field and gave a roar to show he was ready. "I'm sorry Alice, but where would you like me to take you on our date?" He asked confident that he was going to win. He wasn't trying to come of arrogant and hr hoped that he wasn't. Aki didn't want Alice to get at kimpression of him. He was only really this way when battled, and if they started dating they wouldn't be battling often he didn't think. "Rex, lets end this with a Dragon Claw" The tiny dink leaped toward the Dratini with his right foot glowing.

The monster of a Nosepass was down, but then came out a tiny T-Rex which was a rare fossil Pokemon like Aero. And the little Dratini met her unfortunate end by being slashed by the little dinosaur’s claws which prompted the little serpentine dragon to fall to the ground unconscious. Sadly, Yuna didn’t stand a chance against the Tyrunt, but she did her best. “Get some rest, sweetie.” She returned the Dratini back inside her Academy ball and could imagine Lulu having a grudge against the Tyrunt for hurting the Dratini, but it was a good thing she did not have her outside, only the Sigilyph. And then, that dreaded question came up of something that sounded like a bet was won. ”Well, maybe a restaurant might be nice. Particularly fancy ones since the food there has good taste.” Lucia returned back to her trainer’s side and she had been predicting that this battle wouldn’t go too well just by watching the entire scene unfold.

Action: Dratini fainted. Akihito is the victor.

Watching Rex hit the Dratini with the attack. The Dratini went down and he suppressed the urge to celebrate. He was trying his best to be a humble winner against the girl he had a thing for. After Alice recalled Yuna, Aki started toward her side of the field. Stopping and placing his hand on the head of his Tyrunt. "Awesome battle Alice. And yes a fancy restaurant will be in order. Say tomorrow night? I'll meet you there." He said winking at his Tyrunt. He had explained to all of his Pokémon what he had riding on this battle. He watched as the Sigilyph accompanied her trainer. "It was a fun battle. I guess I'll see you tomorrow night, say around 8." Aki said then turning to his Tyrunt. "Alright Rex, lets go eat lunch." The Tyrunt returned a roar and Aki smiled at Alice. He really hoped she didn't hold any hard feelings for the defeat. With that the pair turned and left to get lunch back at his dorm.
