Lure them in with Candy...(Fishing)

Vivienne hadn't been fishing in a while and the last time she'd pulled out her Good Rod and bait she'd managed to score a Feebas that had only just evolved into a Milotic. Feeling comfortable and confident one particularly bright sunny Sunday morning, she found herself at the Pier. There were men, women, and children playing on the sand and lining the pier. Some might've even been Students, judging by the way battles were going on around them. The Kalosian had brought a spare Academy Ball if something truly worthwhile came on the end of her rod; there was, after all, a type of aquatic fairy type Pokemon she had yet to acquire.

Casting her lure into the water (baited with Pokemon bait and a bit of candy to boot) as she settled on the dock, her legs crossed, she hummed to herself slightly as she wondered what sort of Pokemon she might be able to catch.

When Vivienne lured in the Finneon she whistled slightly. It was cute, sure, but she already had a Milotic if she really felt the need to use a cute (and pretty) water type that wasn't part fairy. She tossed the Finneon back with a small sigh before rebaiting her hook and casting her line somewhere else in the water. She just had to patient, that was all. If she could just be patient, she might get lucky looking. She'd gotten lucky with Licorice during her first fishing trip. That thought made her start musing on what she might name her next water-type. Maybe another kind of candy?

When the next thing she got was a Carvanha, Vivienne made a face before whipping it away from her back into the surf. Maybe just hoping for it wasn't enough to always get the Pokemon she wanted? After all, it had taken two trips to find her Togepi in the end. With a determined glint in her eye, she baited the hook one more time and cast her line into the mysterious blue of the water below. Maybe she should have spent more time practicing fishing than just her coordinating and poke styling? In either event, it was her lost shot at getting something worth her time. If she didn't get her little water mouse, she'd just have to be content with something to beat up for a little experience in the long run.

"Figures." Vivienne muttered as she watched the Clauncher rise from the water. She didn't even bat an eyelash as she released her Cottonee from a Pokeball. Eclair might've had a tough run of things in her last few fights, but against a water type like the Clauncher? Vivienne had faith in her still.

"Eclair, let's not waste anymore time today." She crossed her arms, "Give it an Energy Ball, and make it a good one." The Cottonee complied to her trainer's command, gathering a flickering, crackling ball of energy and blasting the fish. It struggled in the water, releasing it's own pulsing blast comprised of the stuff; the watery orb didn't seem to phase the grass type much, and she responded by releasing several tendrils of green energy, shaped like vines, that pierced the lobster and drained it's remaining health to recover from what little damage the Water Pulse had done.

"That was quick thinking." Vivienne commented, patting the Cottonee on the head as the pair began their walk back.
