The Dratini charged with an Extreme Speed after the boy made his comment. Vivienne could only bite back her tongue. The extremely fast attack collided with her Cottonee, the Dratini nothing but a blur. Still, Eclair made it through, and didn't even look critically injured. Vivienne had to hand it to the fluff of Cotton; against super effective moves she might not have done so well, but a neutral hit, even one as powerful as an Extreme Speed, wasn't strong enough to knock out the fluff ball. Cottonee and their evolution Whimsicott were one of the few fairy types that excelled more in physical than special defense to boot. Even if the Dratini was going to outlast her thanks to it's resistance, the pair were going to go down fighting, and it wasn't getting away unscathed.
"It's taken one Energy Ball already Eclair. Why not take some of that legendary draconic health?" Vivienne called to the Cottonee. "Use your Giga Drain."
The Cottonee released a mass of green energy vines from her fluffy body straight at the Dratini; once they entangled it, the Dragon might not enjoy the feeling of having her health drained. The sad fact was though, with it's natural resistance to grass type moves what damage would be done to the Dratini wasn't going to equate for very much energy being siphoned to her Cottonee.
---------------
Cottonee used Giga Drain! 75 BP +STAB. 1/2 damage is added to Cottonee's health.
(And yes, I calc'd that Extreme Speed as a 120 BP normal move from Dratini.....Cottonee's defense just so happens to be nearly identical to Dratini's Attack. x'D )

"That Cottenee is a stout little thing, very impressive." Aki said as the Cottenee sucked some energy out of Sasha. She wasn't too happy about that, she glared at the little fluffy cotton pokemon. Aki could tell that Sasha was determined to take it down. He was actually having good time with the battle. Though he could tell that Vivienne wasn't very happy with the outcome of the battle. He knew that the victory was his but he had to commend Vivienne for giving it everything she had. "May I say, I applaud you for giving it everything you have. I too know how it feels to be where you're at." Aki said, but once he said it. He knew that she might take him as being condescending. The words were out there and they couldn't be taken back. It was one flaw Akihito had, he became very full of himself when he knows he's gonna win. "Sasha, lets go with another Extreme Speed" Aki said as the Dratini moved slowly at first then picked up speed heading toward the Cottenee.
Action: Dratini used Extreme Speed.

He knew where she was at? Now that was an interesting thing to say. A little cocky, sure, but also kind of empathetic. Trying to be nice when you were crushing another trainer in a battle...that was something Vivienne might do; hell, had done. She wasn't quite sure if she should've felt angry or grateful for it. At least he'd complimented her Cottonee, hadn't he? That earned him a few brownie points in her book. So many people would dismiss her Pokemon based on appearance alone. Vivenne tilted her head to the side. Akihito intrigued her a little, from the tiny amount of interaction they had. Perhaps a scarier thing than just getting Vivienne pissed at him.
"Eclair, Giga Drain once more!" Vivienne called. The Cottonee resumed her energy-leeching attack; she was starting to look rough though from the Extreme Speeds she'd taken.
-----------
Cottonee used Giga Drain! Same shtick.
Sidenote: Once Eclair faints, mind if we do the evolution for love when Aki wins, ala Alice's Isabeau after Palmier took it down?

Aki was shock but not really that Vivi didn't say anything to him after his comment. Was she mad at him? Or was she just upset that she was loosing so badly. Though he wasnt lying when he said he was impressed with her Cottenee. Withstanding two Extreme Speeds from Sasha was remarkable. But even with the two Giga Drains this next hit was going to finish the Cottenee off. "You've made the Kalos region proud. You're a tough opponent, I would like to have a battle with some of our stronger Pokemon someday." Aki commented and then turned his attention back to the battle. Sasha had recover from the Giga Drain and ready for another attack. "One last Extreme Speed" This time Sasha didn't waist any time she bolted at the Cottenee.
Action: Dratini used Extreme Speed.
Side note: that's fine

Vivienne nearly giggled at the other's praise. She made the Kalos region proud? Her Grandfather would highly disagree. It gave her a sick sense of satisfaction to think another Kalosian said it to her. She was half tempted to even write home about it to her Grandfather just to gloat. That would make him choke on his words, wouldn't it?
She nodded to Akihito's suggestion. "I'd have to agree. I'm not much of a fairy trainer if word gets around a dragon beat one of my fairies after all."
The Cottonee couldn't handle the last attack, and went down for the count. Vivienne ran out to the battlefield to check on the fluffy Pokemon. She knelt, patting the Cottonee as she opened her eyes tiredly. "You were great Eclair." She whispered, just loudly enough for the Pokemon to hear. "This was my fault, not yours."
The Cottonee, who hadn't won a single battle against a trainer to date, blinked back tears. She hadn't exactly been feeling super confident in herself as of late, and had even wondered when her trainer was going to shelf her in favor of one of the other fairies with a better track record, or that demon Marmalade. At Vivienne's words though, she cooed happily and erupted in a white hot light. Vivienne had to close her eyes for a moment, and when the light faded she was patting a larger, fluffier Pokemon.
"Whiiiiimsicott!" Eclair cooed before hopping into her trainer's arms for a hug.
"You're. So. FLUFFY!" Vivienne shrieked with joy as she stood. She glanced over at Akihito and gave him a slightly mischievous smile that mirrored the one on her Whimsicott's face.
"Next time, you can expect a little more from us." She said, giggling as she turned to leave, the large, windveiled fairy moving from her arms to float beside her. As they left, the Whimsicott stuck her tongue out at the Dratini and cackled. The capricious nature of fairies seemed to have grown a little stronger with the evolution.
------------------ Cottonee fainted! Akihito is the victor!

Watching the move take down the Cottenee Aki relaxed. He was relieved that the Cottenee didn't know any fairy moves. But then again it was lucky that Sasha knew non Dragon type moves. Watching as Vivienne ran out to the field after he was declared the winner. He walked out to see if the Cottenee was OK. Even though he had inflicted the damage, he still was worried about the Pokémon. As he approached the center of the field he saw that it was glowing white. Aki shielded his eyed and when the light disappeared a new Pokémon was there. It was a Whimsicott, Aki smiled "Congrats, see things are looking up already." Aki said as Sasha came up and nudged him. He had forgotten she was there and wasn't scared. It was actually fine with her next to him. She wasn't like the other serpent pokemon she was gentle and loving.
Nodding to Vivienne "That's what I'm hoping for. Til we meet again." As they left the Whimsicott stuck her tounge out at Sasha. The Dratini started to move toward but Aki stopped her. "I'm sure you won't battle that Whimsicott Sasha. Pretty sure she'll have a Fairy type attack. But someone will take her down" The Dratini vocalized her joy and the two left the arena.
