Annie was still hiding, really, but she had rested in her room long enough. Now she had other places to hide.
Nobody else was likely to be here unless they were looking to catch Pokémon. To be sure, there could be someone else who wanted to do that, but the chances were slim enough and if she really had to, she could hide from any other student. And very few were likely to be here, especially not with the same aim as herself: she was fully aware that Ice-types were not terribly popular.
Annie had made a bit of a niche for herself as an Ice-type Trainer, and for the most part she didn't care to leave that niche. And she had found herself a good place to go, up here...
The young Trainer wandered around, high on the snow-capped mountain's slopes, looking for more of the Ice-type Pokémon she loved.
{Desired spawns, in no particular order: Seel, Bergmite, Absol, Vanillite, Cubchoo, Cryogonal, Smoochum, Lapras.}

Movement caught Annie's eye. She froze for a moment, waiting to see what it was.
And then a little blue Piplup wandered past her field of view. Annie let out the breath she had only been half-aware she was holding in a laugh. It was cute, to be sure. She seriously considered seeing if she could catch it, for the sake of its cuteness or its potential strength, but she seemed to recall that it wasn't going to be an Ice-type. Maybe someone else would want it, but trading Pokémon with someone else would require interacting with someone else, and at this point she was thoroughly uninterested in the prospect.
Raising her hand in a graceful salute, she walked straight past the Piplup.

The next thing that went by made Annie check the Poké Balls she carried, just to be absolutely sure that the ones that were supposed to be full were. It didn't seem logical, that Senka would have gotten out, but with a tricky one like that it never hurt to be sure.
Senka was clearly still in her Poké Ball, and now that Annie had made sure of that she could identify the differences between this wild Sneasel and her own starter. It had a different attitude, for certain--this was not a trickster like the Sneasel Annie had been having so much trouble with.
But, in all honesty, Annie wouldn't have traded her troublesome Senka for all the well-behaved Sneasels in the world.

Chunks of ice began to fall from the sky, and out of a little copse of high-altitude trees wandered a Snover which looked very much like Annie's Tomislav. She had no need to catch another one, and she would have passed this by too, but it made a beeline right for her, looking as aggressive as a walking pineapple possibly could.
Annie grabbed the same Poké Ball she had been checking a moment ago, and released Senka. For all her faults, the Sneasel was an excellent fighter. "Metal Claw," Annie ordered, her voice shaking slightly. Being attacked by a wild Pokémon was nerve-wracking to her, for obvious reasons.
The lithe creature leaped forward, her claws carving a slash across the attacking Snover's face. It retaliated, blowing a snow-laden gust of wind at Senka, who was unfazed by the tiny damage it did.
"Again, Metal Claw," Annie commanded her little prankster. It was clear that they had a tremendous advantage over their opponent. The Snover went down, and did not get up again.
"Good job, Senka," Annie praised her Pokémon. Perhaps she would go home now...
Then again, perhaps not. She had proven that she could defend herself up here, hadn't she? Perhaps it would be good to stay a while longer...
Fought the wild Snover without catching it. End thread.
