Hitting the Waves (Mod)

Sonia was only a few days into her new life at the academy and she was already making good use of her time to experience all it had to offer. Along with her team of four Pokemon, the girl had decided to hit the beach. Naturally, she needed to wear the appropriate clothing for such an outing. She had her usual backpack with her, but instead of her usual uniform, the girl was wearing a white swimsuit from which she held her Pokeballs. Its design resembled something that an adult would likely wear, rather than a child. She wore it with pride, as if showing off. Perhaps not how a girl would normally show off, but how a young girl who idolizes manliness would.

Her last trip brought her to the volcano where she found a fire-type Pokemon. Along with her grass-type, steel-type, and rock-type, Sonia felt that it was time to grab a water-type Pokemon to even out her choices. Of course, she decided to have a bit of fun in the water during the process.

There was a number of ways that Sonia could begin her search for Pokemon. Most of these involved actually searching for said Pokemon. Instead, though? Sonia headed straight for the water and began to play in it. Luckily for her, her loss of original purpose still paid off as a Staryu came out from the sea and approached her. Sonia had gotten quite close to it, and as a result, must have caused it to attack. It was just a Bubblebeam, meaning that there was little to worry about. As the attack came, the little girl dashed out of the water and proceeded along the watery coast in hopes of finding something else. Staryu just wasn't her style.

Sonia continued to walk down the edge of the water, feeling the tide hit her feet every so often. As she did so, she noticed the second of her encounters go past her. It was a little water Pokemon that seemed to resemble a slug. How odd. Nonetheless, the girl found it somewhat cute. After halting in her tracks, the girl walked over to the little Pokemon and pet it gently. Once she was satisfied, she got up, only to find the Pokemon sticking to her hand. Eh? Shaking it a bit, the little Pokemon managed to break free where it slithered back into the water after being flung like a rag. With a sigh, the girl continued onward in hopes of a better find.

After a long stroll off the coast, Sonia finally set her eyes on yet another Pokemon. The last two weren't really anything she would bother with, but this one at least seemed like a worthwhile fight. She had assumed it was a water type given that they were at the beach. Naturally, she decided to send out her Shroomish. Roundabout, open up with Seed Bomb! The girl watched her little shroom Pokemon burst from its Pokeball.

It wasn't very big, much like her other Pokemon. But as she had seen from the last battle, the size of the Pokemon had nothing to do with it. She still wanted to get a feel for all of her Pokemon, naturally. So rather than focusing on only one Pokemon, she would try to spread out the training a bit. She watched her little shroom run up to the barnacle Pokemon. It was quite slow, to be honest. But once it got there, it unleashed an attack that seemed to devastate the foe. Eh!? She returned The Roundabout to its ball as she moved closer to the enemy Pokemon. As it would seem, she knocked it out in one hit. Blinking, the girl reached for a Pokeball and pressed it against the now fainted Pokemon. This one probably wouldn't be good on her team. Perhaps someone else would find a use for it?

Sonia let out a sigh as she picked the Pokeball up. I guess they can't all be winners, can they? Placing it onto her belt, the girl decided to head back home, a bit miffed about the results for today's exploration. Nothing really exceptional decided to pop out today; unlike yesterday where she got to pet a turtle and catch a puppy. Nevertheless, she would try again some other time. It wouldn't be good to get down over a bad hunting trip after all.

For the time being though, there was still a lot of the island to look over. Even if she wasn't looking for Pokemon, there was bound to be something interesting for her to do.
