The top of this mountain was one of Annie's favorite places to be. Solitary, cold, and beautiful: these were the attributes she loved about it.
She felt pretty good at this point, after spending a certain length of time here, and she still had a goal for being here. She really didn't have enough Pokémon with her, and the ones she did have needed training. The two problems complemented each other well enough, so she remained up here, seeking more Pokémon to fight and catch.
Wandering about the mountaintop was probably Annie's favorite way of doing that. She could appreciate the view, she could see all there was to see, and she could run across the wild creatures while avoiding any other students who might have gotten the same idea...

From a distance, Annie could see something glinting. As she approached it, she discovered what it was. Cryogonal. That wasn't something you saw just every day...
Annie went carefully. The strange living snowflake didn't notice her until she was fairly close. At that point, she grabbed a Poké Ball and released Senka the Sneasel, who was barely the worse for wear for all that she had already helped Annie catch one Pokémon on this trip.
It was convenient, Annie reflected, to have a tried-and-true strategy for catching the Pokémon she wanted.
"Senka, use Metal Claw," she commanded quietly, hiding her tremendous excitement behind a forbidding exterior.
Her Sneasel obeyed, raking metal claws across the snowflake. It responded by seeming to shine very brightly. Annie suspected that it was preparing an attack; hopefully Senka would be able to forestall this one, as it looked likely to be dangerous.
"Metal Claw again. Finish it."
No matter how many times she defeated a wild Pokémon that she wanted to catch, Annie never failed to get a thrill out of it. The Cryogonal fell to the ground, and Annie tossed one of her last two empty Poké Balls at it.

Success! You caught the wild Cryogonal! Feel free to add it to your PC and remove any items you used (including your ball) from your inventory.

Annie picked up the Poké Ball containing her newly caught Cryogonal and turned towards Senka, intending to return the Sneasel to her own Poké Ball. However, she quickly realized that that would have to wait.
That battle must have pushed Senka over the edge, because she was clearly changing and evolving. Annie watched in awe and delight as her Sneasel transformed into a Weavile.
Only when she was sure that evolution was complete did Annie recall Senka into her Poké Ball. It had been quite a productive outing, in more ways than one. Perhaps she should start looking into encouraging more of her Pokémon to evolve...
