Annie had all the Flying-type Pokémon she really needed in her life, but here she was looking for one anyway. Her primary purpose was not catching, today. Her purpose was to train up her Snorunt. The little ice-hatted critter was undeniably adorable, but Annie had higher hopes for Dušana. She had already evolved one starter, and now she wanted the other to catch up.
This was her first time on Mount Brave, and with a slightly nervous Dušana cradled in her arms, she made her careful way up the rocky slopes. It wasn't nearly as high as her preferred hangout spot at the top of Vanilla Peaks, but mountain-climbing remained much the same, which helped Annie's courage.
She wondered what she would see.
{In case I didn't make it sufficiently blatant, Annie is looking for any Flying-type. She might actually catch an Altaria if one shows up.}

While hiking the mountain, Annie paused on a cliff to look out over the island. The view from here was pretty spectacular; that was proving to be one of the many perks of developing a mountain-climbing habit. She liked these opportunities to hang out, high above the everyday world, and just look at it. It was so different from how she had lived all these years, trapped in a little hollow in the rock. From here, she could see such a range of landforms on the island, and because there was no one with her except Dušana, no one could tell her that she was enjoying it wrong.
A single Fletchling flew far overhead, completely escaping Annie's notice.

A flash of light off of steel was the only warning Annie got before a Skarmory swooped down over her head far too close. She could feel the wind rushing over her head, startling her tremendously. "What--" she gasped aloud as she ducked instinctively, coincidentally in a fashion that left her curled around Dušana.
Moments later, it was gone, thank goodness. Annie hadn't wanted to fight a Skarmory; it would be too dangerous for her Pokémon and she certainly wouldn't care to catch it. Shaken, she got slowly to her feet, keeping an eye out in case the Skarmory returned.
