Among the things that new students received upon arrival at the academy was a little pouch in which to hold Berries, and a map which showed (among many other things) the location of a place in which students were allowed to pick some. Being interested in experiencing all the things which Trainers might do, Robin had chosen to give it a try.
With the boy were his two Pokémon, Morning the Fennekin and Star the Fletchling. They seemed to be as happy to do Pokémon-and-Trainer things as Robin was, so they happily accompanied him to the Berry Orchard. He selected several Berries from among those he saw, and with his Pokémon's approval placed them in his bag.
