It was an ordinary day of late summer, and Annie was--as she so often did--relaxing in the communal area of the Wave Dorm. She was enjoying the chill off of the river that flowed through the dorm, which was enhanced by the two Pokémon in her lap: a quiescent, pillowlike Swinub, Zlatan by name, and a bubbly, bouncy Spheal whom she addressed every few minutes as Marinko when he tried to bounce away.
Eventually, Annie gave up, saying to the Spheal, "Marinko, go ahead and explore the room, but don't trip anyone. Is that all right?"
The little round Pokémon burbled his enthusiastic assent and bounced off into the room, looking for interesting things to do. Annie watched him go, petting Zlatan and humming quietly to herself. She didn't have to keep such a close eye on Marin as she did Senka, her recently evolved Weavile who was known for playing pranks, but she did have to ensure he didn't get into any terrible mishaps in his eagerness to play.

Chloe had been very bored after she had left her dorm room. She decided to get antiquated with the common room of the dorm. She walked into the room and looking around, there seemed to be some form of river going through the middle of the room. She was weirded out by this. She got that it was water themed but really. Although Squirty didnt get the memo and was swimming happily in it, her shell and tail visible from above the water. Chloe was walking towards a chair when she suddenly slipped on some kind of ball. She landed face first and got up slowly. She looked around the room wondering what had happened.

Annie winced when Marin bounced under the feet of a girl who was walking by, predictably sending girl and Spheal sliding in opposite directions. As quickly as she could without inflicting the same on her Swinub, she got up and hurried over to make sure no harm had been done.
The small, spherical Pokémon bounced off the wall he had been sent sailing towards and rebounded to land unharmed at Annie's feet. "Stay closer to me now, Marinko," his Trainer ordered, as a precaution to ensure that no more such accidents would follow. Then she turned her attention to the girl who had fallen. "Are you all right, miss?"
[OOC Note: Just for future reference, the word you are looking for in your second sentence is not "antiquated," which means "old," but "acquainted." Yes, it's easy to mix them up; I just wanted to let you know about the significant difference in meaning.]
