Astrid cautiously made her way along the icy pathway, carefully trying not to lose her footing. As she walked through the frozen cave system, she occasionally mumbled to herself that this wasn't her best idea. She already had enough trouble with ice physics in video games, and the real world version wasn't looking to be much better. There were plenty of safe places to stand and move, but there were also plenty of slippery patches, and it wasn't always easy to tell one from the other. But she hadn't fallen yet, and she had managed to make it fairly deep inside so far. That was progress, right?

Astrid soon came to a fork in the path. One led down towards frozen pools and most likely more dangerous slippery surfaces. The other, she didn't know where it led, but it was currently blocked off by a little rock thing. A rock thing she knew all too well, from stories of hikers tripping over them in caves, or otherwise having trouble knocking them out because of their sturdy bodies. She certainly didn't want any of the former, and she had Magnate already for the latter. "Nope," she said, turning and going down what was probably the more dangerous path instead.

Miraculously, Astrid managed to keep an even footing as she made her way deeper into the cave, carefully moving on what solid, even ground she could find. Eventually, she found herself walking between several glistening pools of water that was only not frozen by some miracle. Some were small, some were quite a bit larger, and one was even large enough to hold a Lapras in it.
...Wait, what? How did that even get up here?
"Oh, oh!" Astrid exclaimed, starting to run up to it before realizing that she was literally waling on ice. "Hey, I know! Come with me, I'll get you back to open waters again!" The Lapras stared at her for a second, probably wondering where the heck that just came from. Astrid had, admittedly, made a pretty bold assumption. After a little bit, it opened its mouth and bellowed, looking ready for a fight. Astrid couldn't tell if it just wanted to battle her first, or was trying to chase her off. She was hoping for the former.
"Alright, Draygon. Let's give this guy what he wants!" Astrid called out, sending out her Tynamo. It seemed like a poor matchup, a young and not particularly strong fish thing against a large pleiosaur, but Draygon had been getting stronger. With some luck he could probably handle it. And if not, she had Magnate in reserve. "Alright, Charge Beam!" Draygon took a second to charge up, then fired of a beam of electric current. Sparks jumped between his body and the ground as he charged up from the attack.
The Lapras bellowed again, calling forth a shroud of mist around its body. Astrid had to take a moment to look up what such an ability would do, and was relieved to find that it just prevented opponents from debilitating it. Not something she and Draygon were doing at the moment. "Charge Beam again!" Astrid called out. Dragon fired off another electrical beam in response, charging himself even more in the process and doing a bit more damage. Again, the Lapras bellowed out a response, and rain started falling through a hole in the ceiling, running along the ice to drip all around them. Astrid took a moment to be glad she had dressed heavily. The cold was one thing. Being rained on in the cold was a great deal worse. "Keep going! Another Charge Beam!" Astrid said. Draygon shivered, sparking wildly, but managed to fire off another beam. This third beam was now noticeably much stronger than before, dealing significant damage to the Lapras. One more should finish it off, Astrid figured. Draygon just had to survive that long.
Then, the Lapras finally attacked, spraying Draygon with a blast of saltwater. The electrical fish shuddered and dropped to the ground, struggling to get back up. Sparks jumped wildly from his body, arcing through the saltwater into the ice. "Come on, come on," Astrid said, tensely watching and hoping he could get back up. After a few more seconds, he did, already focusing the electricity running across his body for another charge. "Alright, finish it! One more Charge Beam!" Astrid called out. Draygon fired off the beam, hitting the Lapras for the strongest hit yet and causing it to slump over in the pool. Astrid picked out an empty ball, realizing after the second of searching it took that it was her last one, and threw it at the Lapras.
