Personality: Although at first on the outside he can appear to be a cold, cynical individual at first glance, this isn't exactly what one would consider accurate. He's a kind individual at heart who values the safety of Pokémon above his own, although that doesn't mean he doesn't know how to take care of himself. He also has a habit of actually standing up for his friends if he see's them getting picked on and bullied, primarily this is because he knows what it's like, due to having to suffer through this when he was younger.
Likes: Pokemon in general, studying, vegetarian food, rock/metal music and guitar.
Dislikes: Bullies, meat, overconfident people and classical music.
History: To begin with, Chris was born in the Orre region in a somewhat small town by the name of Agate Village. He lived there for about five years before his parents, who had both been retired trainers, decided to eventually move to Lilycove over in the Hoenn region, thinking that it may be better for their son due to their being more people around his age there. Upon actually arriving and getting set up in Lilycove, Chris didn't head out at all, instead he stayed home all the time, until he hit the age of nine. At this point, he finally actually went out and tried to make friends with people around his age.
Unfortunatly, many of these attempts failed, and Chris found himself always being picked on and bullied by the other children which were around his age, despite Chris not doing anything to deserve such treatment. As time went on and years passed by the bullying only got worse and worse, to the point Chris simply ran off to the nearest route at the age of fourteen, which, despite him not knowing it, was one of the best moves he could have made due to what actually happened there. Avoiding all actual people on the route, Chris eventually found a small place among the trees to just sit down, alone, in order to think... 'stay off the routes if you don't have a Pokemon' his parents always told him, well, guess its a good thing I didn't follow their advice.
Upon hearing movement nearby, Chris went off to investigate the sound, eventually finding it to be an injured Eevee that wasn't able to walk in it's current condition. Seeing the Pokemon in such a sate triggered an emotion within Chris that he knew all to well... sadness... yet he knew he couldn't just leave the pokemon. Taking care of the Eevee and slowly helping it recover despite his lack of knowledge on how to treat an injured Pokemon, Chris eventually found a way to help it find it's way back to it's family, which in a way was somewhat ironic considering Chris at that point in time was a runaway.
Upon finding the Eevee's family, one of quite a few Eeveelutions, they immediately rushed over, having been searching for the Eevee for a long time. They all appeared extremely grateful for the help, however at this point it was late and getting dark... too late to head back on home. The family, understanding his predicament, actually let him follow them, leading him to somewhere he could rest for the night alongside the Pokemon, it was their way of repaying him for finding one of their lost family members. After a few moments of debating what to do, he agreed and found himself sleeping along them for the night, with the groups Flareon starting a small fire to help keep him warm through out the cold night.
Awakening the next day, he found himself surrounded by the family of Pokemon, all of which seemed curious about what he was going o do now. Chris eventually left the family, but not without newfound determination to get to understand Pokemon better, to help them where possible. Although there was chaos when he did get back home, it didn't take long for his parent's to come to understand due to a little explaining on Chris's part, in the end, they didn't know whether to be proud of him for helping the Pokemon, or angry at him for running away.
Two years have passed since then, and recently, Chris heard about some kind of Academy about Pokemon a decent distance away, which certainly had his attention, although he wasn't sure it was the right course... he didn't want to leave the family of Pokemon without at least letting them know first, he'd been visiting them all this time, it just wouldn't be right to leave without saying anything. Eventually, after saying goodbye to both his parents and a truly heartfelt goodbye to the family of Pokemon, who in a way also felt like family at this point, he finally headed off on his travels towards this 'Academy', determined to be the best he can when it comes to Pokemon... but if that truly happens... only time will tell.
