Literally Hitting the Water, Physically (Mod)

The third time is the charm, or so people like to say. Sonia wasn't one to rely on superstition or any type of wish-fulfillment in general. But she wanted to look on the bright side of things. This was her third attempt to find a fierce water type Pokemon that would act to round her team out a bit. So far she had a fierce grass type, a bulky steel type, and a cool rock type as her main choices. Her Clauncher was cool and all, but it wasn't something that she wanted to focus on yet. She wanted something more. . . fierce.

This time around, Sonia didn't bother to play in the water. Instead, she just walked down the beach in search of the Pokemon she wanted. Did I say walk? I meant power-walk because she was moving faster than she normally would. Frankly, she was just about sick of the beach now. Sure, she would come back to swim probably. But other than that, this would likely be the last time she came here to look for a Pokemon. Well, assuming she got the Pokemon she wanted this trip anyway. If she didn't? she wouldn't give up until she found one. Hopefully this wouldn't impede her progress of catching a team of badasses. Oh yeah, she walked past an Oshawott too.

In Sonia's stride, she passed by many Pokemon. Birds, grounded fish, and weird things. she even passed by a little croc-looking Pokemon that was just waddling around on the beach. Even still, Sonia simply stomped on. well, until she did a double take and blinked at the site of this Pokemon. That's it.

Still a bit surprised at her find, the girl pulled out the first of her two starter Pokeballs. This one contained her little Aron who hadn't gotten all that much experience in fighting yet. She thought about the opponent a bit, knowing that it was definitely a water type. Strelka would have a bit of a disadvantage in this case. Even then, Sonia knew that she could take it. Strelka, open up with Double-Edge! Charging at the enemy Pokemon, Strelka bashed into the unsuspecting oceanic crocodile. It face-planted into the sand where it stayed there for a moment; no movement whatsoever.

Completely confused, Sonia began to walk over to the little blue Pokemon and poked it. Immediately, it popped out of the sand and began to chase her. Horosho! The young girl began to run in circles in order to bring some distance between herself and the Pokemon. Strelka! Get it with Double-Edge again! Of course, as soon as the other Pokemon heard that, it lunged at Strelka, biting her. Its mouth was big enough to totally encase little Strelka. It then attempted to lift her in its mouth, only to fail. Strelka may have been small, but she was still pretty heavy thanks to its steel typing. Finally free from the enemy's jaws, Strelka bashed the water crocodile right in the nose. Again, this knocked the wild Pokemon face first into the sand.

Getting up, it charged at Strelka as its fangs began to glow bright white. Sonia knew that this was about to end in a big joust. Alright. Finish it with Double-Edge! Sand was kicked up everywhere as the two Pokemon charged into each other at full force. Neither was sent flying back, but the wild Pokemon seemed to have felt the blow. Strelka sustained minimal damage, likely thanks to its hard surface and likely a resistance to whatever attack was just used. The little crocodile wobbled a bit before finally face-planting into the sand one last time. This time, Sonia was sure that it wasn't going to get up. Tossing an empty Pokeball at it, Sonia waited for the end result.

Sonia returned Strelka to her ball before looking back at the ball she had just thrown with a bit of uneasiness. The Pokemon she had just fought was a little odd, but at the same time, it would likely be very effective in a battle. Just seeing it on the beach gave her the feeling that it would be a great addition. All it would take is a bit of raising and possibly some teamwork exercises. Already Sonia felt a bit more energized. She could raise this Pokemon and even start hunting in other areas of the island. With a deep breath, the girl smiled and headed back to her dorm. Today was a big victory for her.
