The prospect of being able to see some of the friends she made here in Hoenn was a promising one and one that made her feel giddy inside. She couldn't wait to take her friends over to the contest halls and show off just how amazing pokemon contests can be. She was a bit disappointed that the academy didn't offer lessons in contests cause that was as much a part of the pokemon world as battling.

The question seemed to move on over towards her family. More specifically, the part where she questioned if she was here to become a serious trainer or be like her parents and do contests. When she was asked that question, Tanya's smile faded into a somewhat serious frown, looking down at the floor to think about her family.

The only reason she was here was to defy expectations and stand out. While she did love contests, she also loved battling and since she was the best out of her siblings in that regard, she focused on becoming the best battler she could. She probably shouldn't bore Seria with all that nonsense though. Looking back at Seria, she put on a smile in an attempt to dissuade her from worrying about her.

"Nah, I'm not gonna go into contests. Don't think I'm nearly good enough for that. Instead, I'm going where my skills lie, battling." She replied, her usual speech that she crafted somewhat falling away for a moment as she lost track of the tone of the conversation. She wanted to change the subject though, more so that she didn't have to go into more detail about that.

"So, you're a member of Nature Dome, huh? What's it like there? Is it pretty?" Tanya suddenly asked, brushing a bit of her hair out of her eyes and adjusting her glasses as she did so.

Tanya's smile faded into a serious frown, as if Seria had brought up something wrong... Seria looked a little worried, but as Tanya put on a smile, she explained she wouldn't go into contests and instead focus on becoming a good battler. "That's good, I guess! I don't think of myself as someone who would be a good battler or a good coordinator... Then again, I guess that's why I'm here..." Seria fidgeted. Soon, Tanya changed the subject again and asked what it was like at the Nature dorms. Seria smiled in response and nodded. "Yeah. I'm from the Nature dorms. It's in the middle of a really beautiful forest, and it's not so far from the Berry Orchard, so it's very nice just to take a walk around the area and relax in the beauties of nature. You know? It's very soothing." Seria nodded and fidgeted, now thinking back to some things...

From the sounds of it, the Nature Dorm was appropriately plant themed. It was also in the middle of that forest that she visited after classes. If the dorm was anything like the forest, she had no doubt it was beautiful. Then again, the Wave Dorm was pretty in it's own right.

When she noticed Seria fidgetting, she tilted her head in confusion. Why was she anxious? It didn't seem like it had anything to do with the dorm. However, when she thought back to how she was talking about her attitude towards battling. It could be that she wasn't that confident about fighting pokemon battles. That thought made Tanya worry for her. The whole point of this academy was to learn how to be a trainer.

"Hey Seria, wanna have a battle with me? I totally got beaten by a girl called Astrid in Bolt Dorm and I need your help to get better. I mean, we are here to learn how to battle and such, so it's a win-win scenario. That sound good to you?" Tanya asked, giving a comforting smile. Getting into battles like this and properly learning how to fight were a few steps she needed to take to become the best trainer that she could be. Plus, if she could help Seria get better, that would be just the cream on top.

Truth to be told, Seria had focused so much on her goal she completely forgot that most people were here to improve their skills as a trainer or to become a good trainer as such. She realized that yes, the ultimate goal of being in this academy was to learn what it meant to be a 'trainer,' and battling was one of those aspects of being a trainer. Tanya then offered to Seria if she wanted to have a battle. She explained how she lost to a girl from the Bolt dorm, and wanted to get better. Seria blinked, but smiled, as the way Tanya asked her was very kind. "...Oh, you want to battle with me? Well... I don't see any reason to say 'no,' so... We can battle later! I needed to go somewhere after this. We'll meet later in the battle dome, right?" Seria answered affirmatively, taking this opportunity to try and see if she could translate what she knew from watching her parents and also tackling wild Pokemon to actually battling another person.

"That's settled then!" Tanya declared, jumping up from the desk and putting her hand on her hip. Now she had another battle to anticipate. She hoped that this battle would go better than her previous one. As long as she didn't have Steel type pokemon, she stood a decent chance of winning and since she was from Nature Dorm, she probably had pokemon that were weak to Dani.

"I probably should head out and continue looking around a bit more. Truth be told, there is still quite a lot I haven't seen and I'd like to get my bearings of the place before I get hopelessly lost. I'll see you later for that battle. I hope you're ready to put up a good fight! I'm sure as heck not going to go easy on you." She challenged light-heartedly, twirling a little bit on the spot before getting out her map and moving out of the Commons. So many battles in such a short time. This was becoming an environment where she can flourish and she was totally fine with that.
