Seria fidgeted as she relaxed in the part of the commons facility where students could basically just hang out with others, or simply do their own thing. She was actually standing in the area, leaning against the wall, in a very conspicuous spot of the vicinity that stuck out like a sore thumb. Though there were many seats and of course a screen where a live feed to the Academy Battle Dome was visible. TVs were present too, but Seria cared little for the mundane joys of broadcast media, instead opting to retreat to the comforts of her mother's unusually thick diary, chock-full of notes and sketches of her travails. This time, she had her pages locked on some of the legendary Pokemon of the region Hoenn.
Her parents had actually gone to Hoenn but only for a short while, mostly to investigate the triumvirate of the weathers - Kyogre, Groudon and Rayquaza. However, her mother did happen upon myths and local folklore regarding a certain tiny Pokemon, none other than Jirachi, said to be a granter of wishes. But however, said Pokemon would only awaken during the week of the thousand-year comet, and only if someone would be able to befriend it. Seria wondered what would happen if she encountered Jirachi and became its friend. By then, her wish would already have been granted.
What would she wish for then? Well to be fair, Seria did have seven days to decide. She continued to think and ponder on this conundrum, looking up at the ceiling of the commons facility, still holding her diary. She looked incredibly lost, almost dazed - very noticeable, to those who even cared.

With trusty map in hand, Tanya was still trying to fully find her way around the area. She decided to head over to the commons, where people hung out apparently. I guess a place as big as Grey Garden Academy does need a place like this where people can just relax and whatnot. Tanya noted how it could be a good place to congregate people so that they wouldn't get hopelessly lost, which she was realizing was a very possible concept just from her adventures today.
Once she actually reached the commons, she learned from her previous mistake and put away her map. She wasn't going to bump into anyone this time! Looking around the area, she wanted to see if there was anyone to talk to. She briskly searched the area with her eyes and soon found one girl with a pink uniform, meaning the Nature Dorm. It was hard not to notice her to be perfectly honest as she seemed to be in an entire world of her own.
Tanya moved towards her and as she did, her eyes glanced over the book that she had in her hands. Why was she looking at the ceiling instead of the book? Was the book boring? What was in the book? These were questions that needed to be answered. Standing to the right of the girl, she peered over and looked at what she was reading.
"Hey, isn't that Jirachi?" Tanya bluntly asked the girl, her eyes dancing over the page as she looked at the information that the book had on various legendary pokemon in the Hoenn region. Who the hell was this girl?

As Seria was getting incredibly lost in her thoughts, dancing with the possibility of being given the opportunity to meet other legendary Pokemon with her wish, she could hear the faint voice of somebody coming up to her. And asking her something. But it took a good five minutes before Seria registered that someone was trying to get her attention. She turned her face and noticed a girl in a light blue uniform, someone clearly in the Wave dorms. These various dorms almost sounded like factions to Seria, but she ignored that whimsical thought as she shook her head and had to apologize profusely. "Ahh, um, sorry, if I didn't notice you turn up at once... Yes, that's Jirachi, a wishgranter. Isn't it cute?" Seria smiled as she answered the girl as sincerely as she could. "Would you like to know more about legendary Pokemon? I know a lot about them, I think! I wanna meet some too, maybe..."

Tanya couldn't help but look incredulously at the other girl for a few moments. Did she even hear her? She was like right next to her and everything. Maybe she wasn't loud enough or was she hard of hearing? She was almost tempted to poke the side of her head in an attempt to bring her back to earth before the girl sprung to life. In a way. The way she acted caused Tanya to giggle out of amusement.
"It's like fine, ok? Don't worry about it." Tanya warmly responded. "As for wanting to know about the legendary pokemon, I guess I have like a basic knowledge of the Hoenn ones, since I like totally come from there. I guess maybe it could be interesting I think?"
She never really thought about learning of the legendary pokemon. She mostly thought that they were just stories. She didn't think that there actually could be a gigantic pokemon that could cause rain to come or one that grants wishes to people that they like. It seemed out of this world to her. Then again, she did come to this school to learn about pokemon. She had her doubts though.
"As for meeting them, good luck with that. They are called legendary for a reason. My name is Tanya though, what about you?" Tanya asked, flashing her a wide smile and extending her hand to shake. The girl was perplexing, but at the same time, that made her interesting.

The girl responded positively, which relieved Seria. Sometimes, a bad habit of her's was to daydream and so it was hard to grab her attention without yelling or actually prodding her. But this time, she managed to do it within five minutes! It was quite a feat for her. The girl said she had a basic knowledge of the ones from Hoenn, because she came from there. Well, that was something. Seria herself came from Sinnoh, so she appreciated some input from someone who was actually from there. However, Seria kinda felt a little disappointed when her statement seemed to lean towards feeling apathetic about legendary Pokemon. Regardless, it was still nice to meet another student on campus and maybe she could be good friends with her.
She introduced herself as Tanya. "Why, hello, hello! I'm Seria. It's a pleasure to meet you too! And thank you for the good wishes. Even if they are legendary, it's still a dream for me." Seria smiled warmly, looked down to see Tanya's extended hand, before slowly extending her own hand and giving Tanya a firm handshake. She seemed pleasant enough to be with, so perhaps if they learned more about each other this could be the start of a good friendship.

Tanya was a bit confused as to why she slowly moved her hand to shake, mostly due to the fact that it meant that she would have to awkwardly hold her hand out for a while. At least she did shake it though, which was better than being completely rejected. The greeting she gave in return was a good sign though.
"Hey, it's still like better to have a dream and all. I guess the legendary stories I heard from in Hoenn were cool and it would be awesome if you could meet them. At the same time though, the concept of manipulating land and sea is somewhat scary. Like they would be soooo powerful as well. If you did meet them, you might not even live to tell the tale." Tanya mused, her thoughts flowing from one point to another like a river. The river flowed strong as well and she realized that the other girl might not be able to keep up, owing to her somewhat spacey attitude.
"Oh god, sorry if I go too fast. I get so caught up in things that I sometimes go way too fast. So Seria, what's up with that book you're reading. It don't look like it comes from the library here and I don't remember seeing a book like that in Hoenn." Tanya inquired as she took a closer look at the book.

Seria nodded intently as Tanya basically just blurted out a stream of words, mostly relating to how she did hear some stories, but also relaying how it must also be scary to be going up face to face with someone as great as Groudon or as titanic as Kyogre. Or as fierce as Rayquaza. In any case, Seria was at least able to keep up with what she said. "Yeah, I can see where the worry comes from, at least. I know that Rayquaza, Groudon and Kyogre are all incredibly powerful, and thus must be scary to most people..." she nodded off into space, for a moment, before Tanya then brought up the book Seria was reading from. Indeed, it did not come from a library. That much was obvious.
"Oh, this? It's my mother's diary. She travelled all over the world studying legendary Pokemon from everywhere, and wrote about her findings and stuff in this diary. It includes sketches and artist impressions. She let me take it as a keepsake before I left to come here. It's full of interesting things that she didn't actually ever share to me." Seria continued to smile as she recounted the brief history behind the diary.

"Damn, your mother sounds like quite the awesome person!" Tanya exclaimed, surprised to hear that the book was actually a diary. That was some nifty diary, to be sure. All the drawings and all the regions that she visited. Tanya started to imagine what it would've been like to have the opportunity to travel all around the world and see what sights there are to see. Maybe she could do that someday.
"My mother is pretty awesome as well though. She, like, is a local celebrity and she managed to totally win a master rank ribbon for the cool contest. She now works in Fallarbor Town as a contest judge." She told Seria. Her legs were starting to hurt from all the standing, so she looked around till she found a spare sofa that they could use.
"Let's go sit down! It'd be easier to talk this way." Tanya said as she started to move. Once she got a bit of distance, she turned back to make sure Seria was still following and smiled cheerfully. While she was a bit out there at times, Tanya still enjoyed her presence. Plus, they had a lot to talk about if she had her way.

Seria blushed a little to hear such a complement from Tanya. On the other hand though, Tanya's mother seemed to be quite the admirable character herself. Seria didn't know too much about contests as she wasn't a Hoenn native, but she knew that it probably required a lot of hard work and effort to reach the point where one could become a celebrity. "Wow, that sounds pretty cool too! I've only been to Hoenn on vacation, and my parents made me watched one contest. I didn't really get it too much, but it must require a lot of effort to get that far in! A judge, huh? She must really be amazing too." Seria nodded and smiled. Though, Tanya started to move over to the sofa seats and this made Seria follow.
Seria was used to moving and walking about due to all the vacationing and exploring she did with her parents. But she could understand if others couldn't manage the same. "Sure! Let's go sit at those seats." she trailed off and continued along. Tanya was certainly energetic. Seria could definitely appreciate this girl's company.

Tanya was glad to hear that Seria had been to Hoenn before. While it might have only been on vacation, it gave a whole pool of things to talk about. She found that the more she talked with her, the easier the conversation was to have. It didn't necessarily feel awkward as well, but she wondered what would happen if she asked for more details on the legendary pokemon.
"It requires soo much effort! I didn't really pick it up as well as some of my brothers did. It takes a different sort of mentality and a lot of time due to needing to give them the right pokeblocks, making those pokeblocks and executing the moves in a way that dazzles the crowd." Tanya declared, looking proud of boasting about her mother's achievements.
Once she reached the seats, she promptly plopped down on one and gestured for Seria to do the same. She let out a comfortable sigh as she relished the couch.
"I guess since you went to Hoenn on vacation, you don't come from there. I mean, it would be silly to go on vacation to place you already live, so like what region do you come from?" She asked casually.

Tanya excitedly declared about the things one needed to do with regards to contests. It seemed that coordinators required to groom Pokemon in a specific fashion by giving them the appropriate PokeBlocks, and also making those appropriate PokeBlocks to start, before then moving on to fashioning the Pokemon with a specific set of abilities and moves in order to wow the crowd and get a good score. In Seria's mind, she sort of began to understand it now that Tanya explained what being a contest participant entailed, but she thought it wasn't exactly the kind of career path for her. Seria simply smiled and nodded attentively ekeing out a "Yeah, I can definitely imagine that. Your family must be full of talents."
By the time they had reached the seat and Seria also plopped her backside on a couch, Tanya asked Seria where she was from. "Well, for me, I am from Sinnoh. I was born in Eterna, near the great forest. Actually, my mother told me that the statue there which spoke about Dialga and Palkia triggered her interest in Legendary Pokemon and the folklore associated with it. I guess my own explorer streak was triggered when I was told not go to to the haunted house in the Eterna Forest, too... But anyway! There you have it!"

There were times when Tanya had to wonder if she was speaking too much or not letting the other person have a chance to speak. She couldn't help talking a lot. She just got really excited by things and wasn't afraid of expressing her opinions. She was glad that Seria didn't look annoyed by all of her talking. It meant that she could actually make a friend in the Nature Dorm. Maybe she should have friends from all dorms. That would be pretty cool.
"I guess the need for exploration and fascination of legendary pokemon runs in the family, huh?" Tanya commented. She had never met someone so interested in folklore and legends, especially of that of pokemon. Her full hearted belief of their existence was also refreshingly different and being different was totally awesome in her book.
"I've never been to Sinnoh. What's it like? Hoenn is basically water everywhere and while that is like totally cool in my books, I wanna know what it's like in other regions." Tanya inquired, her interest piqued. There were so many regions. Could that be a future for her?

Seria nodded excitedly as Tanya pointed out that perhaps the wanderlust and fascination of legendary Pokemon was potentially a hereditary thing. Seria actually didn't know too much about her grandparents, and it hadn't occurred to her to think about that until Tanya brought up the whole 'maybe it runs in the family' dealie. Well, maybe I can look that up sometime Seria thought to herself. At this point in time, Seria had met at least one person from every other dorm except her own and also the Lava dorm. The people she encountered thus far didn't seem like bad people. She definitely enjoyed Tanya's company for one. Eventually, Tanya expressed interest in what Sinnoh was like.
"Oh, Sinnoh? It's nothing like Hoenn, really. It's mostly land. Though, the climates wildly vary. You got the normal temperature places down south, sometimes it can get hot during summer. But then, you also got the really cold places up north. My parents wanted to go to the northernmost part of Sinnoh because of some ancient ruins there. I really wanted to go with them, but they told me it was too dangerous because I was really young..." Seria scratched her head for a moment. "But really, Sinnoh's a cool place! There's a lot of beautiful places too, like these three lakes scattered around."

Tanya found herself listening intently to Seria's description of Sinnoh. From the sounds of it, it sounded like a really awesome place. The variety of weather conditions, some of which aren't even in Hoenn. She was unaware of a place that snowed. Then again, ice pokemon like Spheal and Snorunt do exist. There must be some cold place to live, but not one she was immediately aware about though.
"It sounds like a super awesome place. Maybe someday, I can like visit Sinnoh and we could totally hang out if I go to Eterna City. Or maybe you can come to Hoenn! It's a pretty swanky place and the sun is like no other. Loads of really nice beaches and also a rad hotsprings. Sounds pretty awesome, huh?" Tanya boasted. It wasn't that she was trying to one-up Sinnoh, but she couldn't help but compare the different regions and plus, she felt that Seria wouldn't be too cross with her if she acted the way she did. After all, some people would normally just walk away by now. She tended to have that effect.

Seria blinked and Tanya replied positively, which was a relief, though she immediately launched into the idea that maybe they could hang out once this was done. Though it was a bit early for speaking of that. Tanya mentioned there being a lot of nice beaches and a very nice hotsprings in Hoenn. That did sound like a lot of fun, though Seria was also interested if there were any ancient ruins or other such sights to see there too. "I would like to visit the hotsprings there some day. Hoenn does sound like a really nice place to be as well." Seria smiled "By the way, I was thinking... Do you plan to follow your parents in being contest coordinators, or are you going to focus on being a good battler?" Seria scratched her head as she asked.
