There was still much exploring to be done around the dorm. Sure, he hoped to see a good Pokemon to keep Cecillia and Jove company, but even if he didn't the fresh air was nice and comforting. It was one reason he was so keen to join the nature dorm, after all. Out of all of them, it was the one that felt the most like 'home', the word being used as loosely as possible. Most of his memories were of camping out in the woods under the stars. Why wouldn't he want to be close to those memories? Besides, he would take to exploring the island more at his own pace. There was plenty of time, after all; if he went to quickly he would burn himself out well before the school year ended!
As he walked through the calm garden with his hands in his pocket, Jove sat snuggled into his hair as much as the little guy could possibly manage soaking up every scrap of static he could. Whatever they ended up finding, it could take it's time. Neither of them were in any sort of a hurry.

It didn't take long for something to interrupt their lazy walk. Crispin almost didn't notice it, until he heard Jove had stopped his happy little humming. He stopped, looking around in confusion, when he finally noticed it sitting on top of a sunflower not far from them. The bird was focused on the top of Crispen's head, and he was sure he knew exactly what had caught it's interest. He frowned, scowling at the bird, "Aw na, trust me, ye dun wanna try anythin' with Jo' here. He'll zap ye ten ways ta Sunday." Not wanting to chance having the bird assault his head, he turned, walking off into the opposite direction after reaching up to hold the little yellow bug in his hand instead. While Jove was fond of his perch, he didn't mind being held either, and before long continued his happy humming. Pass

Just when the brunette was thinking of calling it a day, at least here for now, he heard what sounded like coconuts banging together. After a very brief moment of confusion, he realized it was actually hoof beats. They stopped almost as quickly as they had come, and he turned, trying to figure out where it had come from. Finally, his eyes caught a flash of orange among the plants around him, and he focused in on it. The orange hooves were attached to what at first looked like even more plants. With eyes. And horns. Nope, definitely not another plant. Raising an eyebrow, he searched in the back of his mind for the name of the Pokemon that escaped him. Skid... something. Frowning, he shook his head. Whatever it was, it was frigging adorable.
Both the trainer and the wild pokemon were at a temporary standstill. They both knew the other saw them, and neither wanted to act first. Finally, when it looked like the Skid-goat might dart, Crispin yelled to the yellow fuzz on top of his head. "Jo, quick! Infestation!" Jove jumped from his nest, ready to get in the game. In seconds he had clung himself onto the─Skiddo! That was it's name!─the Skiddo, and began to harass the poor thing. Every time it would turn to try and shake the Joltik off, Jove would move and bite him somewhere else. It was obvious it hurt; especially since the grass type Pokemon was so delicate to bug typed moves.
In a fit of panic and desperation, the Skiddo tried to take down the infested Jove, charging against the ground on the side Jove was attached. The Skiddo slid for a little ways, obviously hurt himself. Crispin moved forward, worried for Jove, when he noticed the little guy move out from under the larger Pokemon, scuttling around to the other side. Breathing in a sigh of relief, he smiled. It shouldn't take much more of this. As Jove continued to whittle away the Skiddo's health with infestation, Crispin called out once more. "A quick Buzz shoul' do the trick!"
At his person's command, Jove let out an absolutely harsh, eerie buzzing noise. The Skiddo seemed frantic by this point. Crispin felt a twang of guilt, Jove bringing the poor Pokemon to a panic. It gave one more last ditch attempt to remove the pest from it's fur, charging into the ground again, but all this seemed to do was succeed in knocking himself unconscious. Although, with that last hit into the ground, Jove seemed a little rough for the wear as well. Frowning, Crispin walked over to pick up the little bug, holding him on his hand. "Sorry, Jo. I gu'ss I really nade ta' figure aht better ways ta' do this..." The bug cuddled himself into Crispin's hand, humming softly to himself. He would have to give the little guy some time to recoop, but that was okay. They planned on heading back soon anyway, so no better time than now. And besides, hopefully they would be going back with one more.
Reaching into his bag, he pulled out one of the Pokeballs he was given and dropped it onto the Skiddo. Hopefully he wouldn't be too traumatized, and they would be able to make it up to him later.

Wiggle, jiggle, giggle.
While it wasn't a bird, you used a ball. Also, you caught the Pokemon.
Congratulations. Deduct your total ball count.
