Down to the Fourth [Tanya/Battle]

Now she just knew it was the gamer spirit in her that led her back here, into the waiting room of the ever present Battle Dome. The last three times she had come here, Kyrie had never used Mammon. This time was going to be different, a four on four match; with Mammon included in the party. He was rather calm about it, having never fought another trainer before. Still, he had the most experience out of her whole party. But who to pick out of the rest of her team, that was the real question.
As she was called up to the battlefield, Kyrie made her way to her square, still in thought of who she should pick for her other three. Her espeon trotted beside her as she did so. She was so lost in thought, the girl didn't even notice the her opponent take the field. Guess that means she's gotten use to being there. That was a plus, right?

While Tanya had fought in the Battle Dome, she had never not known who her opponent was. It was an exciting affair, waiting for the indicator to tell her to get onto the field and face her opponent. A four on four match with fully evolved pokemon. She had never used the fully evolved form of Dani or Daniel, so this was going to be a new experience for her. When she was called out, Tanya stood up and made her way out onto the battlefield. Her opponent stood on the other side, a girl from Mana Dorm, judging from the outfit that she wore. An Espeon was on her side, a tough opponent to face later on. "I hope we have a good match!" Tanya called out, wondering if her opponent even noticed that she entered the arena. Since she was going to use all of her pokemon, she wanted to wait for the other girl to pick her pokemon. Since it didn't seem like that was going to happen though, she instead chose her starting pokemon. "Your time to shine is here! Show your stuff Daniel!" Tanya called out, twirling as she through his pokeball into the air. The Lopunny appeared in the air and landed gracefully onto the floor, moving into his battle stance, the weird black and white target still slung around her neck. Kyrie was jolted from her thoughts by the sudden arrival from her new opponent. Another one she didn't know, this one from the Wave Dorm which was new. She didn't call back nor did she reply in any other way, only watching as the girl sent out a rabbit. A rabbit was it? It had a agile looking body, making Kyrie think it some sort of fighting-type instead of consulting her dex for the actual typeing. "Belphegor." A short toss and out came a zubat who went flying up into the air, screeching his mightiness. This time Kyrie didn't wait for courtesy, "Take the first move. Swift."
Eager to comply, Belphgor opened his mouth to spit out a shower of stars at the opponent. The battle had just begun and the pokemon was already pumped with excitement, convinced that he would win no matter what. Such a little trollbat.
Action: Swift, BP 60, SBA 30, cannot miss.

As soon as the other girl sent out her first pokemon, the battle was on. Tanya narrowed her eyes as she moved into a battle stance, putting all of her spirit into the battle that was about to happen.
Daniel was able to shrug off the stars of the Zubat pretty easily, showing no discernible signs of damage. He put on a very confrontational face, his eyes blazing with excitement as he waited for his trainer's instructions.
"Let's show the bonds we have made together! Smash it with Return!" Tanya commanded, swiping her hand through the air aggressively. Daniel nodded his head, bending his legs in preparation.
He then used all of the power in his legs to throw himself at the Zubat, trusting his trainer to be able to take care of him if he took any unnecessary damage. He was going to make his trainer proud.
Return's power has 100 due to being Fully Evolved. Also due to it having 100% accuracy, no rolls are necessary.

That was rather useless wasn't it? Both trainer and zubat were disappointed to see the unavoidable attack merely bounce off the opposing pokemon. Was it a steel type too? Or rock? What was with these people's pokemon that could just shrug off his attacks like that! Enraged, Belphegor hissed, bracing himself for the rabbits quick counter. The Return hit him straight in the middle, like a kick to the gut and sent him spiraling backward. So not fair! Whether it was pure pride or just plain luck, the zubat managed to survive that. Or so he thought until his wings suddenly collapsed and the bat fell to the ground, groaning in pain.
Bonds between trainers and pokemon was it? Kyrie hadn't much of an idea about that. Mammon liked her but the rest of her pokemon usually didn't listen to her or when they did it was only until after they had their fun tormenting her. Giving a small sigh, the girl returned the downed bat. How his pride must've been shattered by then. She just knew he was going to rage about it next time he was out of his ball. She just knew it.
Returning her focus to the battle, the girl tried to think quickly. Who to send out against that thing, a fully evolved pokemon no doubt. She doubted any of her others except for Mammon could possible suvive against it for very long. Another sigh left her, she had wanted to save him for last or when she was in trouble. Guess trouble was now. The girl made an underhand motion and Mammon ran out, bounding forward in his feline grace. "Mammon beat it down. Psychic."
Mammon said nothing, only straightened himself as his fur began to hold a line of blue energy around it while his eyes began to glow. Like the lopunny, he was certainly not about to fall over and shame his trainer. Oh no, he would do no such thing.

Daniel landed on the floor, posing in elegant fashion as the Zubat got knocked out behind him. Tanya had to admit that it did get a bit more dramatic in battles ever since he evolved, but she enjoyed the spectacle that he put on for her.
"That's the way Daniel!" Tanya cheered as her opponent sent in her Espeon. As the psychic type pokemon began to glow bright blue, Daniel found himself glowing blue as well, being lifted up in the air against his will before being smashed down by the attack.
Tanya was thankful that Daniel had a pretty decent Special Defense. Though the attack heavily damaged him, he was still able to push himself up, wincing due to the pain that shot through all of his body. Even when he stood up, he was still somewhat disorientated.
"Daniel, go down fighting with Return!" Tanya yelled, knowing that he wasn't going to be able to do much else. She was still super proud of what he was able to accomplish, demolishing the Zubat in a single strike.
Once again, Daniel bent his legs, staring at the Espeon angrily. Extended his legs, he put all of his force into one last attack, determined to do as much damage as he could in a single move.
Return has a base power of 100 due to Daniel being FE. No accuracy rolls necessary.

The espeon felt rather proud of himself, being able to toss the rabbit around like a ragdoll. So proud that the purple cat was smiling. He even went as far as to mock the rabbit with his own elegant pose, showing of his forked tail and light legs mostly. Belphegor did nearly no damage to the evolution but Mammon would have no such problem.
As the opponent got back to his feet and charged once more with another Return, Mammon braced himself. Taking the attack on the head before sliding backward. It hurt like a rock to the head but he would live. Quickly he shook his head, getting rid of the dizziness that ensued for the second after. "Good boy Mammon, finish it with another Psychic."
Giddy with being praised, Mammon began to glow once more - his smile turning into a toothy grin as the adrenaline rushed through him. The other's anger before was completely lost on the eevee evolution as he took his stance once more.
Action: Psychic, BA 90 + STAB, BSA 130, 100% accuracy.

Daniel skidded back after the attack, ready to go back into battle before he once again was picked up by the Espeon and thrown around like a rag doll. When Daniel was thrown to the floor this time though, he tried to push himself up. However, the power of the Espeon was too much and instead he collapsed onto the floor, knocked up.
"Good job Daniel, you've done your job." Tanya comforted, returning the Lopunny to his pokeball. While it was not the most ideal situation, the tide was still in her favor. As long as she was able to take down the Espeon next round, she should be able to win. She needed one powerful attack and she knew which pokemon to use.
"Christian! Burn bright on the stage!" Tanya called out, twirling gracefully as she let the pokeball fly out of her hand. The Ponyta appeared on the battlefield, neighing loudly as he lifted his front legs up and stamped them onto the floor.
"Finish off the Espeon with your Flare Blitz!" Tanya commanded, pointing aggressively at the psychic pokemon. Letting out a loud cry, Christian started running around the battlefield, the flames that were on him growing increasingly intense as he started to move faster. Quickly changing direction, he charged right for the Espeon, smashing into it with all of his power. While he was going to take some damage from it, he knew it was worth it in the end.
Action: Flare Blitz, BA 120 + STAB, Christian's attack = 85, 100% accuracy

The duo watched as the lopunny was withdrawn. Mammon tapped his forepaws on the ground in some weird little kind of victory dance. He continued even after the trainer sent out her next pokemon, a ponyta. The very pokemon Kyrie wanted so she didn't have to walk all around the dang place all the time. She did question why the other girl was twirling though, shrugging it off as some sort of 'showman ship'. Weird girl.
Then the attack came, the pony lit itself of fire, charging straight at Mammon. Kyrie had half a mind to withdraw him and let someone else take the fire. She'd probably have a much better chance at winning if she did that too. Her hand went to her pocket to grab another ball before her espeon looked back at her. A look of 'I can handle it' was in his eyes, even though Kyrie knew that quite surely he couldn't. Caught between her own desire and letting him do as he pleased, the opponent decided for her as the ponyta rammed straight into the espeon. His purple body held his ground instead of flying off, once more sliding backward with searing pain against his charred fur.
Was he still up? That was the question. It seemed like several moments before the espeon pulled himself to his feet, looking like as if the very wind could just blow him over. His breath came ragged. Kyrie waited a moment to see if he would collapse over. He tilted then slid on down. "You okay Mammon?" The psychic type didn't get back up. He may have survived if the other had used special attacks instead of physical ones. Oh well. Kyrie jogged onto the field, picking up her defeated espeon before tossing another ball onto the field. This time a little poochyena. Her only female on her entire team at the moment and by far the most aggressive. Shiki, Sand Attack." the girl called as she ran back to her square, carrying Mammon.
Action: Withdrew espeon, summoned out Poochyena. Used Sand Attack, 100% acc. - lowers foe's acc.

Though he was slightly injured from the attack, Christian let out a proud cry, going up on his hind legs again in celebration for defeating the Espeon. Tanya pumped her fist into the air, knowing that the tide of battle had shifted towards her. All she needed to do was keep up the momentum and then she could win.
She raised her eyebrow as her opponent ran onto the field. Didn't her Espeon have a pokeball? It was still in the middle of the battle. She tapped her foot somewhat impatiently, waiting for the next pokemon to come out onto the field.
Christian let out an annoyed neigh as the Poochyena shoveled sand into his face. His eyes were watering slightly from the attack, making it harder for him to see where the Poochyena actually was.
"Try attacking with another Flare Blitz!" Tanya commanded, realizing that there was a distinct possibility that the next attack was going to miss due to the drop in accuracy.
Once again, Christian started to gallop around the battlefield, the flames growing more intense as the speed of the Ponyta increased. When he was behind the enemy Poochyena, he changed direction and tried to charge into her with all of his power.

Now Kishi wasn't the type to wait patiently nor was she one to just stand still and take a hit like a good pokemon. As the ponyta ran around her, his flames flourishing from his mane and tail; Kishi didn't wait for the pony to come up and trample her from behind. Oh no, the puppy began to run forward, away from the much faster pony until it came up right on her tail where she just barely managed to dodge with a roll. Kyrie breathed a sigh of relief, glad that her pup didn't exactly hold still. "Shiki, Crunch!" Kyrie commanded, snapping her fingers.
Shiki's red eyes seemed to glow as it located the perfect part to bite on the small horse. Baring her fangs and charging, jumping at the last moment to try and bite it on the neck or at the very least on the back. Places where the creature's long legs couldn't kick her off easily.
Action: Crunch, BP 80 + STAB, BA 55, 100% accuracy

Tanya groaned to herself when the attack missed. Luck didn't seem to be on her side so far. If the attack hit, it pretty much assured her victory. The way things were going for her was going well up until now, but as much as she wanted to complain, there was no point in doing so. It wasn't going to change the tide of the battle.
As the Poochyena crunched Christian, he tried to shake him off, but to no avail. Eventually, the strength of attack in combination with the previous damage he took from the Flare Blitzes caught up to him and his legs buckled, collapsing underneath his own weight.
"You did a good job Christian." Tanya reassured the fire pokemon as she returned him to his pokeball. She didn't know who to send out next. She didn't fancy her chances completely by sending out Christopher, but at the same time she didn't know what the opponent's final pokemon was. Thinking on her feet, she remembered that Dani learnt a new move when she leveled up that could be the key to victory for her.
"Though the tides may shift, we still carry on! Fend off the waves Dani! Sweep the opponent away with your Dragon Tail!" Tanya shouted, throwing her pokeball high into the air and doing a circular motion with both of her arms.
The Dragalge entered the battlefield, towering over the tiny dog pokemon. She then started to spin, extending her tail outwards in an attempt to hit the dog pokemon and sweep it away from the battlefield.

Shiki held onto the mini horse like a crab onto a nose, her stubbornness winning out in the end as the herbivore sagged down in defeat. That was when the hyena pup let go, bouncing backward and growling despite her victory. This was her first battle and already her fierce persona shine like the fangs that protruded from her mouth. Her little pink nose wiggled as the scent of a new prey came to the field while her old when was drawn back. This time it was some very strange twiggy looking coral thing. Kyrie herself had never seen actual coral before, only picture on the internet; but the creature's looks mattered nothing to the brave pup. Still growling, Shiki braced herself as her foe's tail lit up, stinging straight into her.
The force of the dragon drove the puppy back, flinging her into the sky where she proceeded to land splayed against the dirt. Ouch. She whimpered once, shoving herself back onto her feet before sliding down in defeat. That was short victory and an even shorter match-off... Kyrie shook her head, returning the pooped out puppy to her ball. Calling upon her very last pokemon, the 'last resort'.
Now some may expect a dragon or steel or rock type to be their endgame in a hard battle. Even an evolution was more expected than what got sent onto the field. Another flick of the wrist and the final ball was sent into the air, sending out a vanillite. In simpler terms, it was an ice cream. And ice cream who nearly fainted from the very sight of the dragalge. He squeaked but otherwise remained intact. Physically anyway, she didn't know about mentally. Still she didn't exactly have much time to worry for the baby-tempered Belias. "Belias, Icy Wind." Somehow the ice cream managed to drive himself into motion. Taking in one big breath before blowing it at the much scarier opponent.
Action: Poochyena fainted, summoned out vanillite. Icy Wind, BP 55 + STAB, BSA 65. x2 Super effective, 95% acc.

"Oh." Was all Tanya could manage to say when she managed to knock out the Poochyena. She didn't expect that to happen, especially since he had a stronger special attack stat than attack. Maybe she was overestimating the Poochyena's abilities.
Wondering what her opponent's final gambit was, she didn't really expect to see a floating ice cream. The little pokemon looked so cute, she let out an audible "awwwww" at the sight of it, even as it looked like it was about to faint from the sight of the giant kelp pokemon. Getting out her pokedex, she found out the name was Vanillite.
Due to Dani's monstrous Special Defense and the fact that her typing meant that it was coming in for normal damage, Dani didn't even blink as the ice chilled the atmosphere around her, dealing small damage to the fully evolved pokemon.
"Let's finish this off Dani! Sludge Bomb!" She commanded with vigor. Dani started to accumulate a ball of poisonous bile that slowly got larger and larger till it reached about the size of the Vanillite. She then spat it out, the big ball of poison flying towards the tiny ice pokemon.

Well that did just about absolutely nothing now did it? Kyrie's face was in her hands, wondering how her pokemon were ever going to win a battle at this rate. Belias was rather happy with himself, having hit the target with a super effective move which he failed to notice was not so 'super effective'. He was hopping with joy on his little cone, thinking that he had defeated the 'scary monster'. Haha - no. His little joyful moment was interrupted when the girl yelled out an order. Instantly the ice cream was still, tearing up at the scene. He was going to get barfed on! Again! Before the pokemon sent his attack flying Belias screamed, trying to run away from the nasty horrors of barf. It didn't work.
The ice cream hadn't perhaps two hops when the ball of sludg pummeled him over, causing the poor creature to roll on the ground covered in poison. The kelp dragon's special attack was enough to make the ice cream wet himself but it was the poison that did him in. He hiccupped, cried, then fell over in sickness. "Poor Belias..." His trainer murmured empathetically, returning the cry baby to his ball with a look of pity plastered all over her face. She should've stopped sending the ice cream out after his first battle but she felt like she needed to toughen him up, even if by only a little. He was absolutely pitiful as he was. Maybe her ghosts were rubbing off on her...
In the end, however; Kyrie failed. Not able to even beat the third pokemon her pokemon sent out. Now that was pitiful. Of course she only had one evolution on her but she thought they might've been able to do something against such odds. Apparently not. A short sigh left her as she raised her head to look at her opponent. "Good game." She called out, spinning on her heel to leave the arena.
