After her last escapade into the mansion, Astrid was feeling confident enough to try it again. This time, the devious little Klefki was on her side and compliant enough to stay there, and would hopefully be able to out-prank any more Astrid happened to run across. So that problem was out of the way. Now she just had to deal with ghost pokemon, actual ghosts, giant spiders, and video game monsters. Although, Astrid was hoping for a lack of most of those.
In fact, really, she was just there to try and see what she could find in the mansion. Random horror movie encounters would just be getting in the way.

As Astrid wandered through the house, she started to get the impression that she was being watched. Which, really, was not surprising for a haunted house, but something about the sensation just seemed far more unsettling than anything a simple haunted house should cause. She tried to ignore it at first, but after a few minutes she was at the edge of what her nerves would allow and had to know what it was. She turned around, slowly, to find a small, cat-like Pokemon standing in the doorway behind her, fixing her with wide eyes locked in a thousand yard stare.
"That's...great," Astrid said in a small voice, ducking through the nearest exit from the room that she could find and walking much faster as she put more distance between herself and the staring cat.

After a few more minutes, another Pokemon came peeking out through a doorway. Rather than anything with a creepy stare though, it was a little reptilian Pokemon, with a curious gaze. It peered up at Astrid, then looked down at the pokeballs at her side. "Hmm?" Astrid asked, looking down at the as well. "You wanna see one?" The lizard Pokemon nodded. "Okay," Astrid said, pulling out the one that would hopefully be least likely to scare it. Lunatic materialized from the ball, and waved over at the Pokemon.
Then proceeded to hammer it with a blast of moonlight.
"Oi, oi!" Astrid called out to the Clefairy. "What are you doing?!" Lunatic simply stared up at Astrid with an innocent expression. Meanwhile, though clearly badly injured, the reptilian Pokemon managed to push itself up until it was on all fours, then kicked off the ground to charge headlong at Lunatic. It slammed into the Clefairy, smashing head-first into the puffball of pure disarming trickster, and sent her flying straight into a wall.
Lunatic audibly groaned as she slid to the ground, nursing the results of the Head Smash attack. She wobbled in place, struggling to find footing. "You deserved that one," Astrid said, sighing. Meanwhile, however, the attacker had collapsed to the ground again, and waved its hands in surrender. Immediately, Lunatic regained her balance and gave Astrid a stare that clearly said 'see? It's fine.' "You cheeky little...oh, whatever," Astrid said, pulling out an empty ball and tossing it at the downed Pokemon.
