It was cold up here, but Annie had expected that and dressed accordingly. After all, she was here to look for Ice-types.
That first Battle Tactics class had renewed Annie's desire to catch Pokémon--to add to her team and to train those Pokémon she already had. She was greatly encouraged by Miss Eisenberg's insistence that they should train the Pokémon they loved, rather than those which were by some seemingly objective measure the strongest. The idea of training Pokémon she didn't like made Annie feel slightly nauseous, so that class had been exactly what she needed to get excited about what she wanted to do again.
Annie had a type, as it were. Ice-type, that is. Her gloved hand caressed the Poké Ball in which her Sneasel was hidden away. She expected that Senka would probably be the most useful Pokémon in this fight, since Dušana only had Ice moves and she was expecting opponents which resisted that, but she would remain alert and not act before she knew what she was going to be up against.
{Preferred spawns: Any Ice-type aside from Snorunt and Sneasel. Absol is also cool if that shows up.}

It looked something like a cross between a warthog piglet and a tribble. The little pink nose on its otherwise concealed face could bring to mind other comparisons, none particularly impressive as far as thoughts of battle went. It was huddled in a pathetic little ball on a little ledge of rock on the side of the mountain. The moment Annie saw it, her eyes lit up with a possessive, almost lustful delight. All but purring with joy, Annie grabbed one of her Poké Balls and released Dušana. The Snorunt chirped happily as her little black feet landed in the snow. "Open with Hail," Annie ordered, and Dušana complied, kicking up the cold mountaintop weather even colder. The wild Swinub, which seemed rather drowsy, did not move from its place, but its face did look suddenly blank. Annie wasn't completely sure, but she had the sneaking suspicion that something had just happened. Amnesia, perhaps. "Now, Ice Shard!" Annie called to her Pokémon. After all, if that had been Amnesia, it would be better to use a physical attack than a special one. Chunks of sharpened ice sped through the air and struck the wild Swinub. It appeared to finally realize that they were serious about having a battle, and responded by flinging itself off the ledge at Dušana. Annie winced as they collided with a surprisingly loud noise, like crashing sheets of ice. Dušana was knocked backwards, and the battling Pokémon slid towards Annie a little bit. The Swinub seemed to be a bit dazed by the force of its own attack. Meanwhile, Dušana glanced up at the falling hail and seemed almost to glow. That was good; Ice Body was working. Annie nodded and issued her next direction: "Follow it up with Ice Fang!" Accordingly, the Snorunt opened her icy jaws and bit down on the wild Swinub. Aggrieved, the Swinub let loose a great, howling Blizzard. Though Dušana was thrown by it, she seemed mostly unfazed. That was the delightful thing about having a Snorunt fight a Swinub: a pure Ice-type resisted Ice-type moves, but the Ice/Ground Swinub split the difference between resistance and weakness, meaning that the Snorunt had the advantage here. "One more Ice Shard should do it," Annie called encouragingly, and Dušana attacked accordingly. The sharp chunks of ice struck the Swinub, which appeared to have been knocked unconscious by one that hit it in the head. At least, Annie thought that was its head. It was hard to tell with this thing. Drawing an Academy Ball out of her bag, Annie outright giggled with glee. Another Pokémon, which should be hers in a moment. She tossed the ball at the unconscious Swinub, and it began to shake... {Battle Log}A wild Swinub appeared! Annie sent out Dušana! Dušana used Hail! It started to hail! The wild Swinub used Amnesia! Its Special Defense rose sharply. Hail is falling. Dušana used Ice Shard! The wild Swinub used Take Down! The wild Swinub was hurt by recoil! Hail is falling. Dušana's HP was restored because of Ice Body. Dušana used Ice Fang! The wild Swinub used Blizzard! It's not very effective... Hail is falling. Dušana's HP was restored because of Ice Body. Dušana used Ice Shard! The wild Swinub fainted! Annie used one Academy Ball.

Click! The Poké Ball registered that the Swinub was successfully sealed inside. Annie scooped it up and added it to the filled ones on her belt.
That was the completion of what she had come here to do, but Annie sat on the ledge where she had found the Swinub for a while, petting Dušana gratefully and humming a cheerful tune while she looked out over the icy mountain. It seemed to her like the mountain was singing, and Annie felt like singing along.
It was a beautiful place, and--in a surprisingly literal sense--Annie was in her element. Why wouldn't she want to stay awhile?
