Aki stared out into the vastness of the dunes. Reaching up and lightly scratching the head of his Axew, Drago. He hasn't been at the school long but he had two partners and he loved them. His Axew was ready to take anything. Aki had noticed that Drago liked to ride on his shoulder instead of walking. Which was fine with him, to him it felt like they were growing closer. That was due to the fact that Drago trusted Aki to not let him fall off. After making sure things were nice and set for their trek Akihito spoke to Drago. "You ready buddy?" The small dragon gave a cry telling his trainer he was ready.

Aki and Drago were walking through dunes until he saw something digging in the sand. As they got closer he saw it was Darumaka. Flipping out his Pokedex it told him the information about the red and yellow bird. Aki pondered for a few moments and looked up at Drago out of the corner of his eye. Nodding that he was ready to do battle with it. Drago jumped off Aki's shoulder and prepared for battle. "Lets do this Drago" When Akihito spoke kt caught the Darumakas attention.

Their opponent readied herself as did Aki and Drago. Since the Darumaka was female Dragos Rivalry ddidn't activate. The first move came form the Darumaka in the form of a tackle. It hit Drago but barely phased him. "Drago, slash" Akihito called out to his partner. The Axew leaped forward and landed a perfect hit on the fire Pokémon. The Darumaka called out in pain as she started to pant hard. The fire bird started to drum her belly. Ami knew thks move, he knew that if it hit its next physical attack Drago might be done for. "Alright buddy, lets finish this. Dragon Claw!" He called out, as Drago moved foward to attack so did the Darumaka. As they attackrd Dragk narrowly escaped the fire fang from the Darumaka and landed a direct hit with the Dragon Claw that has STAB. The fire bird fall to the ground, quickly Aki grabbed a ball and threw it at the Darumaka. Drago ran back next to Aki and waited.

Standing staring at the pokeball, it shaking quivering. Aki concentrated waiting for the ball to stop moving, it was nerve racking anticipating the out come. Just as Akihito was thinking it was going burst out it stopped moving and the red light went out. Shocked for a moment rrealizing tthat he just ccaught his first Pokémon. Excited he picked up Drago and held him up. "We did it buddy. And you were amazing in you're first battle." Drago cried out in glee, Aki set Drago down and picked up the Pokémon containing his new Darumaka. "So what should we call her? How.... about.... Clementine? The Axew cried in agreement. "Let's go home buddy ,you deserve a rest" With that Drago climbed Akis arm and sat on his shoulder as they headed home.
