Name: Catherine Luciana Eisenberg
Age: 22
Date of Birth: May 4th
Birthplace: Saffron City; moved to Lavender Town after becoming disabled; did a lot of traveling after graduating
Gender: Female
Sexual Orientation: Asexually Homoromantic
Face Claim: Patchouli Knowledge – Touhou
Appearance:
Height: 5'7
Distinguishing Features: N/A; outside of her lower body having noticeably less muscle mass compared to her upper body, there's little noteworthy about her body.
Character Type: Battle Lecture and Tactics Teacher (BLT Teacher)
Personality:
In the past, Catherine had been an exceedingly cold and asocial person towards the living. The living betrayed her expectations, or got too close, and, for reasons like that, she had little desire to get near them. That's not to say that she had been entirely antisocial, though. With her psychic abilities, she was able to communicate with the dead, sure as if they were physically holding a conversation with her. This led to her developing a rather unique degree of common sense, as well as not really caring what the general public thought of her as. Now, while she has grown older, wiser, and much more mature, the fact that she doesn't care about what others think of her still stands. She's comfortable with herself- with all of her pros and her cons- as she is, and doesn't believe that anybody has the right to look down on her for that.
Though she's not exactly a social butterfly, Catherine has opened up over the years. She's friendly enough when dealing with people that come to her, even if she herself never goes hunting down others outside of necessity. She's never been that bad of a person, but, in the past, it just took time to show. In the present, while she's a bit rough at times, the fact that she'll shoot off an off-handed compliment, or offer to help the occasional hungry student to some leftovers is proof enough that she's at least trying. Polite, even overly formal, the young woman can make herself a bit hard to approach, but those that at least try will usually be pleasantly surprised somewhere down the line.
A few things never change, though. Catherine has a strong sense of right and wrong- of good and evil. During her younger years, a lot of her choices were based upon her desire to protect the world from her brother. While that situation resolved itself, the fact still stood that she had every intention, back then, to give her life for what she felt was just. She doesn't tolerate bullies or other unsavory sorts when it comes to those she's been tasked with protecting. She also has no problem standing up for the little man, at school or otherwise.
Another thing that has not changed would be her weakness to compliments. She's not gullible or vulnerable to flattery, not directly. However, because of the way she had grown up, unexpected praise often makes her just a bit embarrassed. She's also weak to overly forward and friendly types, if only because she won't just Sucker Punch them out of her way.
All in all, though, Catherine has grown over the years, and she's not quite done growing. Lacking a proper direction to take her life, the girl is, ultimately, still lost in the world. She'll eventually have an idea of what to go and what to do, but not anytime soon.

History:
Catherine was the first child born in the latest generation of a family of psychics. Each generation proved to have its pros and cons. Through structured breeding with other powerful psychics over a a course of a few centuries, the family had grown to the point that in-breeding was not an issue. At least, not until Catherine's parents came about. The two were cousins, but were immensely powerful. At that point, the family cast their hopes on the chance of creating the penultimate psychic of their bloodline. A sort of king- the god of the family. The first result? That was Catherine. The family was hopeful that the girl would be the icon they desired.
And, yes, Catherine did prove to have psychic abilities. But, what the family sought was a telekinetic powerhouse. She had some small degree of telekinetic power- her parents were hopeful she'd just be a late bloomer, a slow and steady rise to power- but the girl's true potential existed in the realm of communication. Specifically, with the dead. Her sixth sense was extraordinary. She could see, hear, feel, and communicate with the dead on the same level that she could with humans.
That was great and all, but she couldn't flay a person to death with her mind, so that wasn't good enough.
Years passed, and the girl's telekinetic abilities were weaker than practically every other member of the family. When her mother and father sired another heir, a boy, the family's prayers were answered. The boy was the force of nature they had desired. And now that they had what they needed, Catherine was basically ignored- after being castrated, to keep the “failing genes” out of the pool of opportunities. She was forbidden from sharing her genes with others- in the family or out. Once that was taken care of, she was cast to the side. She still lived with the family, but she was seen and not heard.
She understood the basis of the actions. It saddened her, yes. Being around boys, at that point, made her feel guilty. Still, she felt no ill intent towards her brother. Not at first, anyway. She failed to provide what her parents desired, and he was fortunate enough to follow through. That was fine. It was sad, but she could deal with it. What she could not deal with was the boy's apparent fascination with abusing his powers. Small animals were killed, as was the occasional exceptionally unfortunate Pokemon. Not with sticks or shoes, but with his mind. He slowly crushed them, and the girl witnessed these acts- and heard the screams of pain as their lives were extinguished, their spirits howling as they left their bodies.
It was horrible. And she spoke against it. And her brother, in response, slammed her to the ground. Unable to even squirm against the immense pressure that pinned her to floor, she could only scream as he destroyed a chunk of her spinal column. She fainted for the pain. When she awakened, it was in a hospital room. Her parents had made sure that she wasn't killed- not because they cared, but because they did not want any bothersome attention from the law or media. She was paralyzed from the waist down, but that could be explained as an accident. And with the exchange of promises, money, and other things, that was how it was written down in the books.
To summarize, the girl had realized, first, that her brother was a monster in human flesh. He enjoyed the pain of other creatures. More than that, their parents supported him in these acts, so long as his powers continued to grow. They condoned and encouraged acts that were cruel, inhuman, and just plain evil. They also could not have cared less about the girl's fate. After all, aside from ensuring that she did not die from trauma, or potential internal bleeding, they did nothing to help her. With their resources, they certainly could have prevented the girl from losing her mobility. Her family was twisted now, she decided.
It was during her “recovery” period that she opted to be relocated to Lavender Town. This was allowed because the family figured her presence would distract her brother. While at Lavender, the girl became popular with channelers and those trying to communicate with the dead. Despite her wishes, she ended up making a good bit of money on the side. During that time, she adapted to life in a wheelchair. She grew used to being surrounded by the dead. Heck, if not for their convincing her otherwise, she likely would have killed herself to join them. She was an odd little duckling in Lavender, but respected. And perhaps feared.
When word reached the girl's ears regarding a school for trainers, the young lady was hit with a special sense of inspiration. At that point in time, she saw her family, specifically her brother, as evil. However, she could not beat him, or anybody in her family, with her psychic powers. She simply lacked the force to “beat fire with fire”. However, what if she were to extinguish the fire? What if she were to erase all traces of the fire with something “fire-proof”? This mentality drove her to study battling and to create the ultimate “Psychic-killing” team.
Her time at the school left her open to a number of different people, though. They opened her up to other paths- if not to immediately follow, then to perhaps follow after her “deed” was done. She grew and learned a number of things. She was also fairly successful with her battling career, even if few were what she considered “straight, honest fights”. However, honesty and good will were things that she did not need to accomplish her goal. For that reason, she did not hesitate to trick people into rules that would give her an edge, or to utilize underhanded tactics during battle. That's not to say that she cheated, though. She always fought “fairly”. Whether her opponents could see through and defeat her tactics, though, was the issue that often showed itself to be problematic.
Upon graduating, she returned home. Her Pokemon all showed a firm resolve to assist their master. They weren't fools. They understood exactly what the girl's intentions were, and they were willing to walk that road with her. However, just like the girl had grown stronger and had changed, so, too, had her brother. All of her preparation had gone to waste, as her brother had realized, along the way, exactly what it was he was doing- what he had done- to others. Repentant, the boy had turned over a new leaf and had changed completely compared to his earlier self. While the girl was sent into a confused state, she was, at the very least, not lost. Others helped open her eyes to other paths in life. This just meant that she had the option to pursue some of those paths.
It took her a bit, but she finally organized her mind to the point that she could act properly. Her family was. . . really turning itself over. Her brother was more human than a monster at that point and was essentially running the family. Once the young lady had taken stock of things, she headed out. If there was anything that could help her get an idea of what to do with her life, it was traveling and exposing herself to new ideas. A lot of the Pokemon she had captured at the academy originated from Unova. Because of that, she figured it'd be a nice starting place. Better than wandering aimlessly, after all!
Big mistake. While the gym challenge was fun and fairly easy, overall, there were far too many girls that happened to be both crazy and blonde that she encountered. Not to mention some creepy punks that talked about segregation, or some other nonsense. Mostly a small gang, though. Nothing like a large, ridiculous terrorist organization, though, so it wasn't worth taking note of. Aside from the crazies, Unova seemed like an okay place. Kind of. Sort of. Not really.
After that, though, her travels did become a bit aimless. She eventually received a notification that led to her returning to the academy. She was going to act as a teacher- for battling- for a while. She managed to get new ideas back when she was a student. While she wasn't exactly teaching material, she figured, she did have a clean record, one without losses. She doubted it would remain that way if she returned, but she wasn't worried about glory or honor. If anything, her undefeated status was just luck. Still, she did have some know-how for battles, and, on top of that, she had plenty of experience against other trainers. Might as well have tried it out for a couple of years, right?
And, maybe, her students could teach her a little something in regards to a direction in life.
