He had recently acquired a fishing pole that until today hadn't even been touched. It was old, battered, and well used before he had even gotten it. Though it gave him something to find more Pokemon, so for now he would make use of it. The pier seemed like the best place to start, so here he was, Jove happily snoozing away in his nest of hair. It was slow going, and Crispin was starting to get extremely antsy. Sitting still for this long doing what amounted to nothing felt like it was killing him slowly. "Who 'as te patience for this cr'ahp?" He squirmed, playing with the fishing line absently. Chances were it was scaring the fish away, and that didn't help at all.

Crispin eventually felt a tug on the line. He was thrilled at first, and eagerly reeled it in hoping to get this trip over with. Instead, to add insult to injury, what he reeled in was... a giant comical heart. He could almost feel his eye twitch in aggravation as he groaned out loud. He hardly even needed to say anything to Jove before the small bug leapt off his head, clinging onto the poor confused Pokemon who only wanted a bite to eat. "Clear, Jove." The bug responded, holding on tightly to the Luvdisc and releasing it's built up electricity. The Luvdisc panicked in response, attempting to safeguard itself from any paralytic effects Discharge had. Crispin just shook his head, looking to Jove.
He almost felt bad picking on the fish, but he was already annoyed at the prospect of fishing as it was; at the very least he could let Jove get some experience in battle. "Again, Jo!" Since Discharge was one of the only real effective choices they had, may as well make the use of it. The Luvdisc was weakening, but gave a last ditch effort to at least shake the insect from it's side. It let loose a ring of sharp water around herself, managing to to shove the small Pokemon off. It seemed to work. For a moment, before the Joltik shook himself dry and latched back onto the fish. Crispin could tell it hurt, and remembered one more move in Jove's arsinal that could help with that. "Drain it an' git yer 'ealth back. Tat shud do it in!" Jove listened, soaking in what health the fish had left.
Leaving the Luvdisc unconscious, Jove hopped back over to his trainer, humming happily. Crispin wondered for a moment, contemplating catching the fish... and decided against it, picking it up and letting it back into the water. Hopefully it wouldn't die like that. It wouldn't, right? KO dat fish.
