Off to the volcano again... hopefully this time it'll be a decent run, although at least at this point a lesson has been learned... don't send out Xantra, since he clearly seems to scare off quite a few Pokémon, for example that Vulpix from before, the second it saw the Crawdaunt it ran away, clearly scared off the giant Pokémon. Entering the passages of the volcano, this time with Midnight outside the Pokeball, since she didn't seem to scare the Pokémon at all, however her presence was enough to deter any actual attacks.
As the two wondered through the structure, Midnight seemed as if it was about to start complaining, but a swift glare quickly got rid of that idea, causing her to just walk in silence... which is both good and bad at the same time, since she's probably planning something... but what?
(I would prefer a Growlithe)

Why do all the fire types have to be in a volcano? sure in a way it makes sense but why not put some decent ones elsewhere? it'd certainly help one get to them easier without having to endure through the heat of a volcano... okay, complains over, now back to being serious. Chris and Midnight continued through the passages of the volcano, with Midnight resting on Chris's shoulder, trying to conserve it's energy for the inevitable battle that'll probably end up taking place... once again it wanted to complain but it certainly knew not to try and complain at this point, even if it was a bit hot for Dusk, she had no qualms with punishing Midnight if she didn't behave, that much was made quite clear beforehand by Dusk.
Eventually, the two spotted something off to the right, so they went off in order to investigate, quickly finding it to be Heatmor... this actually could be interesting... Heatmor isn't the worst fire type, but... well... it's ugly as hell and it doesn't evolve... it's defenses could certainly be better as well... no... better to get one with defense that gives it a decent chance at survival. Chris and Midnight merely found themselves walking away, heading further off into the passages.

As the two continued throughout the passages of the volcano, things seemed to have become quiet momentarily, all sounds of movement or cries of Pokémon had ceased... interesting. Normally you'd at least be able to hear some sort of Pokémon cry, which meant a few possible things... something extremely bad was up ahead, possibly a Pokémon that seems a little territorial, or it's just a place Pokémon don't seem fond of... well... only time will tell.
Soon enough the two found themselves at some sort of clear area, although one Pokémon could be seen, and the moment it spotted Chris and Midnight it began barking. it only took a moment to realize that it was in fact a Growlithe... now that, that's much more like it, Growlithe in and off itself is a decent Pokémon, and it's evolved form is said to be even stronger, and Chris has even seen it's evolved form before, back in class, if anything here is a good choice to catch, this certainly is one. motioning for Midnight to attack, she charged right towards the Growlithe with Sucker Punch, the force behind the attack staggering the Growlithe for a moment, although it quickly charged back and leaped upwards, fangs coated with flame. it bit right into midnights wing, causing her to crash to the ground, clearly hurt by the attack, although she did managed to get back up.
"Midnight, just keep using Sucker Punch until it's down" Chris ordered. Midnight merely obeyed, charging and slamming it's beak into the Growlithe again, clearly seeming to do quite a bit of damage, even with the attack drop from intimidate, which had apparently been from all that barking earlier. The Growlithe reacted by charging and delivering a harsh tackle... although it seemed to hurt itself in the process... must have been Take Down. Anyway, Midnight circled in the air one last time before swooping down, slamming into the Growlithe for the third time, slamming it against the wall and sending it into an unconscious state. Chris immediately used an academy ball on the Pokémon, hoping for the capture.

So violent, stay silent.
Don't wanna be seen, don't wanna be hurt.
You captured the Growlithe. Drop your ball count by one. Monster.
