Well, that had been pretty successful.  Lunatic's machinations were as tiring as ever, but the Scraggy had taken well enough to them, and Astrid had even managed to catch it.  Things were looking up.

...Now she just had to find her way out.

After running from the Espurr, she wasn't entirely sure where the exit was anymore.  The house was dark, and old, and a lot of the halls and rooms looked very similar.  And it was pretty big, at that.  A lot bigger than Astrid had thought.  She figured she'd find the entrance eventually, but if that crazy psychic cat thing was still lurking around, she wanted to do it sooner rather than later.

"Maybe there's a window I can leave through," Astrid thought out loud.

But only a few minutes in, the search for a window Astrid could get out through was already not going well. She found one, pretty quickly, but somehow she'd ended up on an upper floor without realizing it. The drop down was more than she cared to chance at the moment. So, that was a bust. Now she had to find another window, and stairs. That was a problem. Especially since she hadn't actually remembered going up stairs in the first place. Was the ground just lower on this side of the house? Was it built on a hill?

She almost didn't notice the red and black armored Pokemon lurking around the room as she left. But it opted not to bother her, so Astrid left it alone.

Well, Astrid found stairs. Leading up. No sign of any leading down in any of the adjacent doors. Had she gone up any at all? She was seriously starting to doubt that. And making matters worse, she'd already forgotten which way she came, so backtracking was out of the question. "Where now," she mused out loud. She looked up the stairs, catching sight of a a weasel-like Pokemon with prominent claws at the top, looking down at her. Its arms were folded, and it had an expression that looked kind of condescending to Astrid. "Don't look at me like that," Astrid said, shaking her head. Finally, she decided to leave it alone and went off down another hallway.

And then this guy.

Finally, Astrid found her way back to the entrance. Once she found herself in a familiar-looking room again, it wasn't that hard. Turns out, she hadn' gone up any stairs, which meant that the window she found had to be over a lower ground level. Hopefully. There was just one obstacle left between her and the exit.

Literally a bag of trash.

"Hmm..." Astrid said, trying to inch around it. It immediately moved to block her. Whatever its intentions, it seemed to have claimed the exit and was keeping her from passing. Which just meant she'd have to move it.

"Quadraxis, lend me a hand here," Astrid said, calling out her Metang. The blue robot Pokemon appeared, pumping its arms a couple times before settling on the Trubbish in front of it. "Hit it with Zen Headbutt!" Astrid called. Quadraxis charged itself up, gathering psychic energy around its body and focusing it to the spike between its eyes. It then lunged forward, slamming into the Trubbish. The trash bag tumbled, almost spilling out as it was knocked away by the attack. But, to Astrid's surprise, it managed to stand itself back up afterwards. It immediately launched a mass of goop from inside its bag at Quadraxis, but it had no effect whatsoever. The goop just ran off.

"Zen Headbutt again!" Astrid called. Again, Quadraxis gathered a psychic aura around itself, then slammed nose-spike first into the Trubbish. And this time it didn't get back up. So Astrid pulled out an Academy Ball and tossed it at the downed trash bag.
