The Commons were pretty empty at the moment. How busy it was always varied from moment to moment, but it seemed like right now it was especially empty. Which, Astrid was okay with. She'd deliberately picked a time when one of the TVs would be most likely to be free, and had succeeded beyond any expectation. And since she'd succeeded, she claimed one of the open TVs and set up a game console on it. Then, after grabbing a few snacks and popping in a game, she started playing.
The game in question was a fighter featuring various Pokemon well known for their fighting talents. She'd played through the arcade mode a few times, in hopes of getting a better feel for certain Pokemon before someone showed up wanting to challenge her. Currently, she was playing as a Blaziken and engaged in a pitched fight against a Lucario opponent. If anyone else had shown up in the interim, Astrid was too concentrated on the game to notice.

Today had been a rather boisterous day for the girl. It seemed that no matter where she went there was always someone or something that drove her away. Even in her dorm which was supposed to be the quietest place on the island next to the library was filled with a ruckus as a bunch of people's ghosts began to possess things for one reason or another. It was just dreadful.
So here Kyrie escaped, the Commons; a place that one would usually never see her due to the place's popularity. But it seemed that today the Commons was just the very opposite of that. Hardly anyone was there except for a girl, maybe an occasional wanderer who left a second later; but still a girl. A girl who Kyrie had the faintest of ideas that she knew. Eh, must've been her imaginati-
...Wait. Was that? Could it? Dodging furniture until the Kyrie was literally right behind the girl, her eyes glittering. It was! A game system and what was better, she actually knew what this girl (Bolt from the uniform looked like) was playing! Hallejah! Kyrie literally hung right behind her, the violet haired girl's eyes still glittering. Her espeon, Mammon; moved forward to sit right next to the black haired girl. He casually just sat there, staring at both girls until they noticed each other.

Nope. Astrid still didn't notice anyone around her. Not even the girl who sat right next to her. At least, not until Xanadu, who had been drifting around near the ceiling, created a few bright flashing lights at the corner of Astrid's vision. "Huh?" Astrid asked, jerking her head in the direction of the lights. At that moment, the Lucario scored a very strong hit on her Blaziken, knocking it to the ground. Astrid hastily paused the game. "Xanadu, what was that for?"
It was only then that Astrid noticed the familiar purple-haired girl next to her, and the somewhat less familiar Espeon staring at the two of them. "Oh, sorry, I didn't notice you!" Astrid said. Then the recognition clicked, and Astrid smiled. "Oh, you're that girl from Battle Tactics," she said. Kyrie, right?" She leaned over and picked up a second controller, offering it to Kyrie. "Wanna play?"

The Bolt girl wasn't the only one who was distracted by the sudden flash of light. Though Kyrie didn't look where the light came from until after the girl paused the game. Tearing her eyes away from the screen to look at the girl as she finally noticed her. Mammon went from looking at the girls to the alien on the roof, eyeing the strange creature before turning his attention back to the girls.
So she did know her... Kyrie was a bit at lost, trying to quickly think of how she might have met her in class. Battle Tactics... did she talk to anybody in there? There was a pause before it clicked. "Oh. The girl who sat next to me." she realized aloud. Unfortunately she couldn't quite recall the girl's name as she had did hers. That part did make her feel a bit bad. But that didn't stop her from pouncing on the controller offered to her.
She looked at the girl, her face still shining with happiness. "Thanks for inviting me." The girl smiled at the other, a slight blush creeping across her face as was the usual when she looked someone straight in the face. In a way the girl looked like puppy given a brand new toy to cuddle with. Her espeon went from his place to trying to squeeze in between the two girls, doing his own thing of snuggling. A much different reaction from Oleg Kyrie would admit if she were actually watching the purple cat.

"Mhm. I'm Astrid, in case you forgot," she said, smiling as Kyrie accepted the controller. Well...less 'accepted' and more 'snatched out of her hands the moment it looked like Astrid was offering it'. For how shy she'd been during class, it seemed like Astrid had already found the way to get Kyrie to open up a bit. The scene reminded Astrid of an excited puppy.
Astrid closed out of her current computer match, with no regrets whatsoever. After Xanadu's stunt to get her attention, she was probably going to lose that round anyway. No sense continuing now. So, she instead switched it over to multiplayer and brought up a mostly full character select screen. "I haven't unlocked everyone just yet, but all the really good ones are here at least," Astrid explained. Instead of picking Blaziken again, meanwhile, she switched over to one she was better at: Hitmontop. It was an odd fighter with an overly elaborate style, but a lot of practice with it had made it Astrid's best.
"By the way, if you want any of my snacks, feel free to help yourself," Astrid said, offering a bag containing a few snack bags and an open container of cookies. "Just try not to eat everything."

Ah yes, that's what the girl's name was. Astrid. She would have to remember that, after all she did find another who shared the same interests as her. Well, just enjoying games was already putting the girl in the 'I love humanity' book.
As Astrid closed out of current game, Kyrie moved into a more comfortable position. When she did manage to get herself situated, Kyrie stretched her arms and hands. Being a fighter games meant that it was going to be time for some serious button mashing and she was going to need all the relaxation her body could gather. She looked over to her co-op, giving the girl a quick nod in understanding.
The choice of character that the Bolt girl picked gave Kyrie two impressions: one, that she was fairly skilled at the game or two, she just liked Hitmontop. The Mana girl herself chose something similar, an infernape. The monkey's speed and ability to connect many combos at a time fit her perfectly when she didn't want to go Tank. The girl was about to lean back when her fellow gamer offered a prize up prizes. Snacks.
Kyrie just about cried tears of joy, placing her controller on her lap as she reached to take the other girl's hands. "You... are a wonderful person." She could already see the 'lovely' sparkles radiating from the dark haired girl, not those nasty social lights that blinded her; but the ones that one would usually see when a new boy or girl was introduced in an Otome game. Heck, Kyrie managed to forget how much she disliked touching people, that enough should have been enough to show her bloated happiness.

Wow. That was a hell of a reaction to games and snacks. Just like that, Astrid had already won the girl over. She could practically see the stars in Kyrie's eyes as she proclaimed that Astrid was 'a wonderful person'. Astrid gave an awkward laugh at that, smiling and scratching her head. "I don't know that I'm all that, but thanks anyway." She set the snack bag where Kyrie could reach it more easily.
Then, she gestured up at Xanadu. "Get down here, I don't want you distracting me again," Astrid said. The Elgyem floated down, taking a seat on Astrid's other side and shooting occasional looks over at Kyrie and her Espeon. Meanwhile, Astrid started up a round, picking a random stage and ending up on a familiar locale: a stadium in Nimbasa City. "Oh, I did a few shows there!" Astrid said as she waited for the round to start.

The girl was probably surprised by Kyrie's sudden change in character. Well that usually happened when one offered games and snacks to a NEET, or her at the very least. Games are like the ticket to being her friend, food to be her absolute favorite. It was even better when the food happened to be some sort of cookie, cake, candy, or pie. She was in such a bliss that the girl didn't notice the other girl's awkward phase, instead her eyes were on the snacks that were being moved closer to her. But wait! Where were her manners?
Kyrie turned away, searching each of her pockets for something as good, only finding several hard candies and lollipops. It was better than nothing right? It would have to be with what she had on her person at the moment. Satisfied with that train of thought, Kyrie held the candies by the handful - placing them between herself and the other. She gave the other girl a look of 'help yourself' with a little smile before her attention was turned back to the game. She did look to the side a little when the wierd alien-looking thing came down but dismissed the creature as if she were Mammon. The cat however took a very deep notice of the floater, his eye staring at the pokemon as it took a seat.
As the stage was picked at random, the girl found herself unsurprised at the location. A stadium from her own home town. Although she never visited there herself, her mother often went there for work and whatnot. It was a surprise when Astrid mentioned shows. That earned a curious look from Kyrie, her head tilting a bit at the notion. "Shows? Are you an actor too?" She automatically tied the girl doing 'shows' to her mother who also did an occasional show there.

Astrid had to keep herself from laughing when Kyrie pulled out, among a few other candies, some lollipops. There was no way she was going to be able to look at them with a straight face anymore. Not after an incident involving a lollipop, a particularly enthusiastic fan and...only finding out later why it was supposed to be so appealing. Not important. Instead, she immediately jumped on the question that came up as the stage loaded.
"No, no. Well, I've done a little bit of acting. And a lot more by certain definitions. But I'm a singer. I've done concerts there. You ever heard of a teenage singer with a lot more press than she ever needed or deserved and the stage name 'Luna'? That was me." Really, the girl was already starry-eyed just from being offered food and games, so what more could being up front do?

So she was a singer was she? Kyrie wasn't much for the 'popping-gossip' or the 'hit news' unless it had to do with the new releases for games or movies. Sometimes the girl would find herself going on blogs to check for reviews about something or other, be it game or movie. The girl had to think hard for a moment, trying to think of a time when she may have stumbled across the name 'Luna'. "Mmm... Maybe mama said something one time... or was it on a blog..?" You could just see the steam coming out of her head. She was fairly sure she had never seen her at one of her mama's parties and with her being an singer, her papa wouldn't have any connection to her if her mama didn't. Maybe it was on a blog that she read about her, a news page really. Basically one of those rare times that she was so bored that she actually went online to see what was happening with the world. "Mmm... yeah, I don't think I know." Kyrie concluded, giving up on her memory, "I don't pay much attention to social media."
As the stage loaded, Kyrie stretched her hands before quickly taking up the controller. The Bolt girl probably thought her to be insane or a complete shut-in at this rate, although Kyrie was still in her 'bliss-field' so she wouldn't have noticed a change in the air. Nope, the girl was more interested in getting a head start by hopefully getting some combos before the other could get a hit in.

Astrid waited as Kyrie thought for a moment, but ultimately didn't come up with any kind of recognition. Oh well. That wasn't terribly surprising, considering the impression of isolation that Astrid got from Kyrie. but that was fine. "Eh, don't worry about it, then," Astrid said, shrugging. "It's nice to still be recognized sometimes, but I don't really want to be completely defined by that either. Besides, I've moved on."
She turned her attention back towards the screen, noticing that the stage had finally finished loading and started and-nope! Kyrie was already trying to get some combos in, but Astrid quickly used one of Hitmontop's more acrobatic moves to clear some space between the two of them, then tried to start into a combo of her own.
