Domenating the Competition [Vs. Tanya]

Walking into the huge infrastructure, Crispin paused to look around. It was huge, and gave the trainers that came here more than enough room to battle. The brunette was nervous, having only ever seen videos of the battles that took place here before today. He knew that without practice neither he nor his Pokemon would get any stronger, though. Even if they lost, practice was practice. As long as his team agreed, they would be fine.
Looking across the stadium, he saw the trainer he was to be partnered with. He vaguely recognized her from classes he had been in before, although he couldn't quite place the name. Still, he smiled, waving across the way to her. "'Owaya! Looks like we've been ma'ched up ta fit. Ah wish ye ta best 'av luk!" Absently resting a hand on the Pokeballs on his belt he waited patiently for his opponent. Crispin's Team; Zubat, Skiddo, Snubbull, and Houndour

Tanya was oddly quiet as she entered the battlefield, clutching her chest with her right hand. Recent events had her acting differently to how she normally would. She seemed to be missing the fire that burned inside her, instead replaced with a sense of emptiness and loss of purpose. Should she even be here? What about her brothers back at home?
Stepping onto the battlefield, she was glad to know that the next battle would only allow non-fully evolved pokemon. She had been meaning to get some practice into the new pokemon on her team and had not found a good opportunity to do so up until now. She didn't want to think about what happened with Astrid.
She vaguely recognized her opponent from classes and judging from his uniform, he seemed to be a member of the Nature Dorm. Oddly, she had never really encountered any guys from Nature Dorm or anyone else in the Nature Dorm except Seria.
"Good luck to you too." Tanya said solemnly, bowing before the battle. She had a hard time understanding what the trainer was actually saying, but she did manage to pick up the basic bits and pieces of what he was saying.
"Let's go Nicholas." Tanya said, picking up her pokeball and releasing her first pokemon. This Shinx appeared on the floor and growled, ready to have his first pokemon battle.

The other student seemed to be preoccupied. Crispin's smile faltered, as he watched her with concern. Perhaps after the fight he would check on their well being, but for now he had a fight to attempt. Reaching for a ball, he threw it into the middle of the dome. "Wesley, let's gie dis a go. Start aff wi' leech seed!" The Skiddo landed with a thud, pawing at the ground anxiously. He was starting to get used to his trainer as long as that terrifying bug wasn't around. Facing the Shinx, Wesley's grass-fluff around his neck shook, shooting a barrage of seeds around the feline's feet. The roots went through the ground, coming up at the Skiddo's feet. Now the question was if it would entangle the Shinx or not, too.
Used Leech seed with 90% accuracy; NBRTvqlZ1-10 If 1-9 hits. Will drain 1/8ths of the Shinx's current health per turn to Skiddo if successful.1-10

Tanya watched, her face impassive as the battle started to unfold in front of her. Her opponent sent out a Kalosian pokemon. Getting out her pokedex, she found out that it was a Skiddo and was a grass type pokemon. A good choice, considering that it would be able to resist any electric moves that Nicholas had in his repertoire.
The seeds hit the pokemon, causing the Shinx to look around his body his shock. Vines started growing around Nicholas's body, the pokemon looking increasingly frazzled as they started to ensnare his chest area. Tanya looked down to the floor, frowning.
"Get out of here Nicholas." Tanya called out, getting out Nicholas's pokeball. The Shinx turned around and gave his trainer a sad and confused look as he was returned to his pokeball. There was no point in keeping him in. It was a losing battle to begin with. Tanya moved her hands along her waist, where her pokeballs were situated. Picking up the one she wanted to use, she held it out in her right hand.
"Go Nicola." Tanya said, pressing the button and releasing the pokemon. The Combee flew happily around in the air, as if dancing along with the wind as she swayed left and right. She seemed oblivious to the battle that was happening.
"Nicola, focus on the battle." Tanya shouted harshly, the bee pokemon looking sad as she floated down to the field.
Action: Switched out Nicholas the Shinx for Nicola the Combee.

As soon as the Skiddo saw the bee, he seemed to go into a panic. He reared up, kicking the air before slamming his front hooves back onto the ground. Crispin frowned, watching the grass-goat. It seemed he still wasn't over his first encounter with the bug type, though Crispin didn't blame him; Jove did kind of overdo it. He thought about making Wesley fight anyway, thinking making him face his fears may help. As the Skiddo pawed the ground, obviously stressed, he decided against it. It seemed silly with both trainers switching out, but sometimes it had to be done. "Wesley, calm down. Ah'll not make ye fite it. Return; yer a go, Z." The Skiddo seemed glad to return to his ball, and soon the Zubat was fluttering happily around in the air.
Returned the Entomophobic Skiddo and sent out Zephyr the Zubat.

What happened to the Skiddo? It seemed to panic a lot when Nicola came out. Was it that scared of a Combee? She didn't think Combee were that scary at all. It was the Vespiquens that were the scary ones of the Combee line.
This was going to be an odd match. He elected to switch out his Skiddo for a Zubat. Not a good match up for Nicola at all. Floating from side to side, Nicola looked confused when the Skiddo disappeared and the Zubat took its place. There was no well in hell she was fighting against such odds.
"Come back Nicola." Tanya ordered, getting out Nicola's pokeball and returning a very confused Combee to her pokeball. She wanted a match-up where she had the odds in her favor. At the same time, he could just as easily switch to the next pokemon. She might as well go for something that seemed to have an advantage, but wasn't the strongest thing in the world.
"Go Christina." Tanya said, getting out her pokeball and releasing the excitable Pichu onto the battlefield. Once on the field, the Pichu began jumping up and down with excitement, seemingly filled with energy. Tanya faintly smiled when she saw Christina on the field.
Action: Swapped Nicola the Combee for Christina the Pichu

Crispin couldn't help but chuckle out loud. At this rate, the night would grow old while they constantly swiped partners. He contemplated having the bat use Mean Look, but quickly remembered that it would mean he couldn't change Zephyr out either, still leaving him with a disadvantage, and then a lost move. At the very least, the bat could provide some sort of damage for the time being. He would just have to decide how to take care of the bee later. "See if ye can unnerve it intah not attackin', Z! Bite!" The Zubat fluttered for a moment before dive bombing the mouse, biting onto it as it did so. With any luck, Crispin thought, it would buy them another attack.
Zephyr the Zubat used bite 60BP, no STAB, neutral effect. 100 percent accuracy, so no roll for that, but a roll for flinch effect. 62fjCZWY1-10 If 1-3, Christina the Pichu flinches.1-10

Luckily for her, the guy decided to keep his Zubat in to fight against Pichu. While she knew that Christina had all around terrible stats at the moment, Zubat was just about as bad with regards to stats. Hopefully, this could mean a fight that was in her favor.
Unfortunately, it seemed like fate didn't like her very much. She cursed silently to herself when Christina flinched from the attack, unable to do anything for an entire turn. Of course something like that had to happen. That set her back pretty far and nearly made this fight a foregone conclusion.
The only thing she could hope for was the static to activate. That could at least make the situation salvageable. Considering her luck though, Tanya had her doubts that this would turn out in her favor.

Counting his lucky stars, Crispin beamed up at the bat as it flew back into the air. The smaller Pokemon visibly flinched in pain, losing it's chance to return any sort of attack. He knew there was a reason he took the chance of leaving the Zubat out to fight. "Gran' job, Z! Waat d'ya say we test our luk once more?" Zephyr flapped his wings in agreement, tucking them against his small body to attack the Pichu again. Stopping itself right before it hit the ground, it fluttered the rest of the distance, biting into the mouse again. Crispin was suddenly starting to notice a pattern with his Pokemon and their tendency to harass other Pokemon. His team was full of bullies. He wasn't entirely sure what he felt about that.
Repeat the last turn; Bite, 100% accuracy, 30% chance to crit, 60BP with no STAB and neutral effect. QkFcwKna1-10 if 1-3, target flinches.1-10

Tanya looked dejectedly at the fight in front of her. She could feel the waves crashing into her, impeding her path and giving her a challenge in this fight. Instead of wanting to fight against it though, she just wanted to get swept away.
Luckily for her this time, even though the Bite attack hit, Christina didn't flinch from the attack. On the other hand though, she looked like she was standing on her last legs, bits of electricity seeping out of her cheeks. She looked pathetic out there. It made her feel somewhat guilty of putting her out there in the first place.
"Just attack with Thunder Shock." Tanya told Christina, looking down at the floor in thought. Was she doing anything good here? Was there really any point in her being here? She left behind so much and just so she could prove that she was the best. Was she really the best though if she was just running away from her family?
Christina, looking fiercely at the Zubat, using her determination to keep herself upright. She started to use her excess energies in her cheeks to launch a quick lightning bolt at her opponent, hoping to deal as much damage as she could.

The other trainer was obviously becoming more and more distraught. Crispin felt guilty, he was obviously making whatever issues she had going on even worse. Still, she had signed up for this fight. If he was in her shoes and his competitor threw the fight just because they felt bad, he wouldn't forgive them. So he would give his all, and do whatever he could afterwords to help. Besides, it wasn't as though she was about to let up on him. This was proven when Zephyr was zapped hard. Even though it was a weaker bolt of electricity, it hit the poor bat with a lot, and he went from being at the top of his health to being on the same legs as the electric mouse.
Still, their opponent shouldn't be able to take much more. "'Ang in their, Z! Try usin' swift dis time raun!" He decided bite might not be in their best interests. Hopefully, this worked out to their benefit, otherwise they may be in hot water. The bat flapped around in the air, his wings glowing for a moment before shooting a barrage of stars at the Pichu.
Zephyr used swift, 60BP, 100% accuracy

Shit, why didn't she use Volt Tackle? That would've knocked the opponent out. Instead, she screwed herself over. The Swift attack wasn't going to miss and the attack pelted the Pichu with stars, throwing her backwards and knocking Christina out.
Silently returning Christina to her pokeball, she looked at it for a second. She should've done better than that. She know she should've. Shaking as she put the ball away, Tanya got out her next pokeball. It felt like it took a monumental effort just to hold it in her hands.
"Nicholas. Discharge." Was all the words she could muster, pressing the button on the ball and releasing the Shinx. As soon as he came out, he started to charge up electrical energy, which he then let loose all around the battlefield. Tanya was still looking down to the floor, legs shaking.

And with that the poor bat was done. He did well though, and he was proud of the bat. Crispin pulled out his pokeball as quickly as he could, doing his best to recall Zephyr before he fell all the way to the ground. "Ye did a gran' job, Z! Go on oyt, Cilla! Why don't ye play a bit rough wi' 'im?" As Zephyr the Zubat was returned, a small pink dog took his place. Cecillia the Snubbull barked sharply a couple times before running over to the cat. At first it looked like she was trying to play with the younger pokemon, but after a moment it was obvious she was getting close to try and attack it quickly, returning to where she stood before.
Crispin kept an eye on the trainer, frowning deeply. Finally he spoke up, nodding over to the other side of the stadium, "'Ey, ye al'rite over dare? If ye want ta postpone te match 'tis ahkay wi' me. Ah don't want ta force yer ta keep fitin'." He was concerned, and confused. He wasn't about to let up just to try and make her feel better, he learned that could often just make the situation worse. At the same time, he honestly didn't want to make the poor girl continue the fight if she seemed as preoccupied as she was.

Nicholas yowled and yelped as he was tugged and punched by the Snubull. By the time that the Snubull had finished playing around with him, Nicholas looked to be in bad shape. His fur was tussled and small injuries were all over his body. He stayed strong though, trying to stay upright.
Tanya stayed quiet throughout the entire attack, trying to stop the shaking she was feeling throughout her body. Why was she even putting herself through this? She wanted to get stronger, but was it worth it? Was she just hurting her pokemon?
She heard the voice of her opponent. Postpone the match? No way in hell was she doing that. She should be better than this. She came in here to fight and get better. Why was she struggling now? She had done this before. This shouldn't be happening.
"S-shut up!" Tanya angrily shouted, flicking her head to glare angrily at the boy. "Christian. Attack with Discharge."
Once again, Nicholas closed his eyes and began charging up electrical energy. Once he had enough traveling through his system, he let out a loud cry and expelled it around the battlefield. Was she really doing the right thing by being here?

Crispin watched the other trainer, frowning deeply. He opened his mouth for a moment to assure her he wasn't trying to be rude, but quickly closed it again. Like his earlier assumption, he should have known that she was perfectly capable of backing out if she needed to. For whatever reason he couldn't understand, she seemed to feel the need to do this, so he would continue on. He sighed, nodding to the pink canine. "Arright Cil, wan more time then." The Snubbull nodded, running forward to repeat her previous attack. Crispin was torn. If he did manage to win, did he really want his first victory to be under these circumstances?
Play Rough again, 90BP plus STAB, neutral effect. 90% Accuracy; oCHHvNnf1-10 if 1-9 hit, 10 miss 10% Chance to lower target's attack if successfully hits 1-10 if 1 will lower, 2-10 will not.1-10·1-10
