Beach Battle [Cameron/Battle]

Current Team: Aggron, Pupitar, Breloom, Croconaw, Growlithe, Eelektrik

Sonia decided to take a breather from all of her adventuring and head to the beach to relax. Her first few visits here were filled with a bit of frustration, but since then, she had gotten over it almost completely. So today the girl showed up in her white bathing suit that her parents had bought for her when she was about to leave for school. Since then, she only wore it while searching for Pokemon, rather than actually going in the water. Today was different though.

Her and her Pokemon were splashing around in the water, generally having a good time. Strelka who was now a giant compared to when he was just an Aron was sending large tidal waves in every direction. Little Sonia must have been flung back at least five times. The other five seemed content with swimming around together since the rest of them were generally the same size. Strelka though? She was in a game of her own. It almost looked like a giant Pokemon harassing a young girl and her Pokemon despite it being care-free fun. This went on for quite some time.

Cameron jogged his way to the beach, stopping for a rest, "Guh." he panted, trying to catch his breath. "So. . . where was I going today?" as usual, his terrible memory got in the way of his progress so instead of worrying over it he dropped his red duffle bag and then sat on the sandy beach. Then he freaked out at the way he dropped his bag shouting, "Oh my god!" frantically opening the large pocket, thankful to see that his egg, Benedict was unharmed. "Phew." he sighed in relief, closing the bag once more, thankful for the incubator that held the egg in a hard casing. 

He felt odd being on the beach fully clothed, so he took off his jacket, shoes, and shirt, and left them in a pile next to his bag. Approaching the water,he saw a hulking Aggron splashing in the water. He could also swear he saw a little girl in there. For that matter, why was an Aggron in the water? It was definitely hers, that much he knew. Since it looked like five of her other pokemon were minding their own playing on the beach. Though he was honestly confused by the spectacle and decided to approach the girl. "Hey!" he shouted. "Hey, little girl! You okay?" he asked. When he got a closer look at the Aggron he was awed by the creature. "It's so buff!" he announced. He flexed his arm, trying to compare the size of his muscle to the hulking creature. "I. . . I lost." he said defeated.

Sonia was so busy having fun in the water that she nearly missed the voice calling out to her from the shore. Splashing back at Strelka as she created large tidal waves, Sonia turned at just the right moment to notice the figure calling out to her. This was even more perfect because at that very moment, Strelka sent another wave directly at her, knocking her under the water. Now prone in the water, the girl opened her eyes before bringing herself upright to see again. Taking a breathe, she looked back to the shore to see a rather large guy with his shirt off. Blinking, she wondered why he was calling her.

Strelka nearly took this opportunity to send another large wave at the girl. Instead, it stopped as it noticed its trainer wasn't playing right now. Can I help you? Sonia called out to the boy, curious as to what he wanted with her. She honestly had no clue what he could have wanted.

Cameron went into the water, approaching the two, more specifically, approaching the Aggron that caught his attention. One could say it was strength incarnate. Another could say it was able to move mountains, but what Cameron would say? "Your thing is amazing." Cameron was enthralled with the towering Pokemon that the little girl was playing with. "So this is what they look like in person? Wow, they're even more muscular up front." he said, awing at the Aggron. He was definitely going to train one of these guys. The thought of one of the armored giants flexing a muscle was more than enough to have him set a goal for obtaining an Aggron. 

He remembered that the girl asked him a question before he approached them. "Oh yeah, sorry." He apologized when the girl had asked him a question. "I coulda swore that your Aggron there sent you flying with one of those splashes. Just wanted to make sure you didn't die or anything. That'd be nasty." he explained. Honestly though, for her to have been having fun with the Aggron that way she was either used to it, or had an incredible tolerance for, well everything. He nodded at that idea, that was probably it, after all he'd seen people take punches and not even flinch, for her to take a wave to the face and laugh about it, she must be something else. "You're a weird little girl." he said flatly. He was curious now, "Usually little girls like her play with dolls or put accessories on cute pokemon or something. You though, your all gutsy." he told, then with a shrug he added, "Though that's just a vibe." he could be wrong, and he was almost expecting to be wrong, but he didn't fret too much over it. "So, those other guys are yours as well?"

Sonia blinked as the boy seemingly ignored her question and walked up to Strelka to examine her. Strelka seemed to be indifferent to the boy who looked at her with such interest. He began praising her too. Well, she assumed that he was going by what "her thing" was. Huh? Did this guy really just come all the way out here to look at her Pokemon?

Well, as Sonia began to think that, the boy clarified why he had called out. He apparently thought that she was in danger. On one hand, Sonia could understand the cause for alarm. People often thought that she was in danger even when she was perfectly fine. It was a common misconception, given that the girl seemed to be able to sustain things no regular child could. Nope. I'm fine. I've handled way worse than this. This one time I was tossed into a brick wall and even left an indent. I walked it off too! While she hadn't been lying, she really just saw this as an opportunity to show off. And to be fair, she was limping a little bit after that meet-up with the brick wall. Instead, she smiled cheerfully; just as the boy called her a "weird little girl." Ehe. I get that a lot. But the next thing he said made her a bit surprised. He recognized her as someone with guts. She couldn't let this be left without a response. Gahaha. You must be an enthusiast of manliness for noticing! I'm actually pretty tough. It's why I have all these tough Pokemon with me. And yes, those ones over there are mine as well. Clearly all of her hard work of becoming the manliest was starting to pay off.

Was Cameron actually right? Did hell freeze over or was it just the apocalypse. No, clearly he had just met a fellow master of the manly arts. He almost wanted to ask her of some of her other ballsy shrugging of injuries. Instead he just nodded sagely as she pointed out his expertise in the ways of man. "Of course!" he shouted. I mean, the only reason I even got in was because of my skill at knocking suckers out cold." he told, cracking his knuckles. "Boxing is one of the most manly things around."

"Guts, muscle, and sheer badassery, that's how you can tell a man." he flexed as he named off the traits of what made a man "Though you look like you are lacking on muscle. . ." he looked over at her Aggron and wore a big grin. "You got that big fella to make up for it. Hell, I'm sure you can take more that half of the other students in a brawl." he complimented. "You're a hell of a lot more man than some of the other fellas I've seen." he praised. "So kid, what's your name? You may be small but you've got more than enough guts to make up for it." He asked. "My name's Cameron, Cameron Faulkner." he introduced. 

Inside, Cameron could feel his challenging instincts burn. He just had to see, he had to see exactly how good this little man was. "Say, you up for a battle? I don't think I'm as much of a match for ya, but I just gotta have a way to see how much of a man you are." he challenged. "So, what do ya say?"
